I always wondered about this place especially living in bellflower the majority of my life. Not anymore. Ordered a 12 piece and the wait took about 15−20mins but the wait was worth it. I mean I wouldn’t want my chicken already cooked anyways. The chicken was cooked perfectly to me juicy and a nice crisp and I forgot to mention the owner has a personality like no other !

Honestly the chicken is worthy of 3.8 to 4 stars, and the potatoes 5! The reason this place is a solid 5 for me is grandma himself, yes HIMself! He’s the owner, I don’t know his name, but he will answer to grandma. He’s a little guy with a big personality! I dig the food, but buying it from him rounds out the experience! Bonus fact: food is inexpensive!

The best! the old man is brutal but hilarious. I guess people mistake his comedy for rudeness. BUt i find him FUNNNNNNNNNNNNY!!! The broasted chicken is top notch, but the money is on the Crispy fried gizzards and the Fried Jarred Oysters! i dont have to say much about this place, but order those and you’ll be ok! #GrubLife #GrubLifeCA @GrubLifeCA

Great fried chicken and fish. We order our food ahead of time as it is warm in there to wait. The owner is a funny guy. Potato salad is very good. We get the fried cat fish combo to go with our chicken dinner.

When you put Grandma and food in the same sentence I’m almost always down. So when I saw Grandma’s Broasted fried chicken I felt a tingling in my tummy. I love me some fried chicken, and Broasted is the yummiest! This little shop is located in the shopping center on Alondra and Eucalyptus across the street from one of my fav Thai Noodle King. The place is not glamorous, or grandma-ish either. There’s only 4 chairs for waiting so all goodies are to go.(^_^) When we walked in we are greeted by a silly man who takes and makes the order. It’s a one man show and man can he entertain! Honestly I think I love him as much as I do his chicken. Their broasted fried chicken is flavorful, crispy and moist. They have the option of dark or white meat. I like dark and my sister likes white. Once I tried dark I couldn’t go back. LOL(^_~) jk. But really it’s super yummy! Their hot wings is one of thee best its not the super tiny ones, its crispy and full of flavor. They also have yummy fried medium sized shrimps as well as different types of fish filet. My favorite is the catfish! Drooolll!(^_^) I would definitely recommend this place and will continue being a loyal customer.

I recently ordered a fish combo and when got there the owner charged me too much. I brought it to his attention and he got mad and told me that I can leave and he will eat it his self, I will never patronize his establishment again. At first he seemed to be a nice guy that changed quickly after I pointed out the error. I walked to Ralphs and purchased my fish and shrimp and it was cheaper and better than his…(A-Hole)

The Broasted Chicken was good and juicy, I will be back and try some fish next time, the potato wedges were lacking flavor, nothing a little ketchup can’t help. All in all it was very good. Make sure to call before going or be ready to wait for 30 or more minutes.

Another Grandma’s? Yes and No. Fried Chicken? GOOD! This one’s called Grandma’s Broasted Chicken. The other one is Grandma’s Chicken House(in Cypress) Both broast their chicken and both are GOOD. I’m a fan of broasted fried chicken. It’s probably the best way to fry chicken. I got a 2 pc(Leg & Thigh) w/4 pcs of potato wedge and a roll. The mahogany color of the chicken skin told me this was going to be a good meal and I was right. Ummm Ummm GOOD! Skin was crispy. The meat was moist. Perfectly cooked. Yum! The potato wedges were okay. It wasn’t as crisp as the chicken. But they gave me some ranch dressing and that made the potatoes much better. The roll was meh. A little hard, but 20 seconds in the microwave made the roll softer and good. The place is basically a to go place. No tables. They have a couple of chairs to wait. Broasting the chicken take 15 to 20 minutes. Call ahead so you don’t have to wait. They also fry fish here. Maybe next time. But those fried chicken is the main reason to come here. I’m a fan. Try it for yourself and decide.

Pretty good fried chicken on par with Chicken Box in La Habra. Meat was very juicy and had flavor. Outside was very crispy. Yeah — its more $$$ than KFC, Poppyes but you gotta pay for the quality. I guess people either are not willing to pay for it or dont know about the place. i hope its the latter and look for this place. I heard the owner is kinda eccentric, but that may a draw(remember Cal Worthington?)

While visiting my dad in the area, his girlfriend suggested that we get some chicken from Grandma’s. Great stuff! Crispy, delicious skin(and normally, I won’t touch the stuff), juicy meat and yummy potato wedges to go with it. I can’t comment on the place itself, since I didn’t go to pick it up, but as long as the food is tasty, who gives a flip?

$ 10 for 10 piece dark meat chicken $ 13 for 10 pieces of fish and 2 sides with a roll The chicken skin only has a think layer of flour, making the skin think and crunchy. The fish is fried to perfection. Nothing was burnt. My fries were very well seasoned. I think the people in Bellflower hate fried fish, because it was empty like other fried fish places in the area. There was only one guy working there. He is nice and friendly. There was a sign that said debit only, but he still let me use credit. Its good fried chicken and fish for a reasonable price, in a strip mall. People come its pretty good.

Chicken is good… definitely not better than Louisiana fried chicken but better than kfc and way better than Churches chicken. The fish is cool… they got fried gizzards and liver! You don’t see that everywhere so this is my new spot

After getting shaved ice, we both needed real food in our system. the boyfriend and i. He loves fried chicken so I thought we could try this place out. it was a hole in the wall of course. I guess we both had high expectations, but boyyyy it was OK. I’ve had better. Boyfriend ordered some fried chicken and I had the fried fish dinner. I felt the fried chicken lacked flavor. I also felt the tartar sauce lacked flavor also. The potatoe salad is real good here. I wish this place would get«smart» and just invest in an AC. It feels like HELL in there. Literally like a sauna room. It’s not even funny. Everyone who walked in to order, walked right out to wait for the order. Its soooo unbearable. If they could just make it comfortable, they would definitely have more business!

If you want to eat real moist chicken then you have to try this place. It is a dive but the food is tasty. The potatoe wedges are a nice addition with the chicken. This is a real mom and pop store. No bells and whistles just great chicken. I highly recommend this place for weekend food for the football parties. Price is reasonable and a heck of alot better than KFC.

So decided to try this place for lunch with a coworker since he really likes chicken. I’ve pretty much tried all the chicken places in the area except this one so today I decide I would give this a try. we walked up to the store and before we could walk in we were overwhelmed with the smell of rotten oil. My coworker and I smelled this and turned around and left. The oil smell was such a turn off I didn’t even want to try this chicken. Not sure how this place got 4 stars, but my advice to you is don’t waste your time coming here. It is just nasty.

the chicken from here is really very good — it’s moist, well seasoned, perfectly cooked through. they do great party trays and lunch plates, as well. I enjoy the broasted wedge potatoes too that usually come with the meal, although the rolls are just ordinary store-bought ones i think. have not had the fish though… they do not always deliver but the food is usually worth it…

Because of the recent KFC(Korean Fried Chicken) phenomenon, I was craving for something fried and something along the line of a Chicken. I saw this place across the street from Cancoon Thai Restaurant when I was having lunch there one afternoon. So I decided to go across the street and checked out this so called«Broasted Chicken» place. At first glance, I mistaken thought this place was a dry cleaner place because the sign doesn’t align correctly with the place as the picture will show. Then when I walked in, I seriously thought it was a fish market because of counter full of catfishes. So I was about to walk out when a powerful aroma of a certain stench caught my nose. It was the same smell that caught my attention when I was at BBQ Chicken in Buena Park. I knew right then and there, I was in a Chicken joint. This place looked like it specialized in two areas: Seafood and Chickens. They seemed to stack their menu with southern style fried chickens on one side of the menu and with deep fried fishes(red snapper, catfish, shrimps, and oysters). They also have side orders of hush puppies, zucchini, and deep fried mushrooms. It does sound like a heart attack waiting to happen as the menu was very straightforward with the fattening of these deep fried items. I ordered the County Fair which included 8 delicious deep fried chicken, three sweet Hawaiian rolls, a side of salad of your choice, and potato wedges. For $ 13.99 for that package, it was a much better value than some of my KFC adventures in Korean chicken joints. The chickens were delicious with a seasoning on the lightly battered crust of the chicken. It was tender on the inside and crispy on the outside. I’m sure people will try to compare these chickens to Pioneer Chicken or even Banquet chicken in a box at your local supermarket. However I can safely say that it’s much better than the market bought icicles or the Pioneer. Now of course I’m get the Broasted chicken debate. Let me preface this by saying that it was juicy and tender on the inside while crispy on the outside. Whether or not, there was any better broasted chicken out there, I have to say this place does a wonderful job of getting the chicken done right regardless of whether or not it’s broasted. I definitely will come back for more as they have a 60 pieces special and will have to try out their deep fried fish.

Why, I oughtta sue The Broaster Company for false advertising…
«delicious Broaster flavor» my ass! This is some boring, tasteless & bland shit! And it’s the second time in a month I got baited by the Broadster sign !#$@%$@ I is a FOOL! As generation X /Y /Z, most of us have no idea wtf Broaster’s Chicken entails: «the chicken is placed inside the Broaster Company manufactured pressure fryer, designed to cook each individual piece of chicken „under pressure“ in the chicken’s own natural juices» Basically it’s pressure fried chicken according to 1954 tastes as dictated by a company in Beloit, WI. I’ve been to Beloit many a times, you don’t want anything from Beloit unless it’s 1) from a cow, 2) related to Harley Davidson. It doesn’t matter Grandma’s fish fry /chicken shack is now Korean(?) owned, there’s no kimchi to go with the fried chicken. It ain’t Kyochon no matter how active your imagination.
