The best lil model train shop around. there are not too many hobby shops/model train stores still in business since Internet on line stores. The owners are very helpful and knowledgeable.

Excellent service and their speakers are top notch. The DSM8 is my go to speaker for installs in most Athearn, Atlas, Kato, and Walthers hood units. The DS28RN-8 is a great step up from the less round speakers installed by Athearn in units such as the SD70Ace. The store has a large selection of decoders and hard to find products like Trakworks passenger car window blinds. I buy through their web store and the service is quick and the shipping reasonable.

Great customer service with great prices. They reset a locomotive with ease and tested many different locos for me.

EXCELLENT!!! if your looking for DCC products most likely they got it. I was impressed by this shop and alot of shops in the area should aspire to be like it. Clean, BEYOND friendly staff, very warm and welcoming refreshing from the experiences of some places where the staff simply does not want to be bothered, hates the hobby(or life for that matter?), well stockd, great prices made a half hour drive and it was worth and will continue to do so. They won me over!

I’m just getting started in model railroading and am currently designing a layout. Both Jeff and Dave have offered lots of help and have answered my many questions, even offering design changes to make sure my layout works well. I’m incredibly impressed at the service I’ve received so far. Nice neighborhood store, decent prices. I’m glad I found a great store to help me in my new hobby. Highly recommended!

Awesome service! Very friendly, well organized and clean with countless variety that is hard to find anywhere. They helped me with how to convert from dcc to dcc sound from scratch, very pleased. Certainly will come back here, thanks Railmaster Hobbies!

Yep, it’s a small shop, but yet, for a scale model railroad nut like myself, I found this to be the best-equipped model railroad-oriented hobby shop per square inch in the LA basin so far. Density*Quality Products = Wow. I’ve been to most all of the other shops around here, and while each have their own personality and positive attributes, I enjoyed this place the most. Why? read on. Just good stuff. NO junk. All the best manufacturers(Genesis, Intermountain, BLMA, Tangent Scale Models, Walthers, Peco, etc), all the best tools and even hard-to-find ProColor paints are here. No cheapie junk brands, no model airplanes, no R/C nor arts nor crafts nor tinplate trains like Lionel to screw things up. Everything was impeccably organized and the entire shop was clean and bright as a whistle too. No dustballs here. Here’s a pic of part of their shop: What was important to me was that they had the latest freight car and locomotive releases from all the major manufacturers right there on the shelves — discounted, and they seemed to have pretty decent turnover in stock. A good sign of a healthy hobby store, IMHO. This shop is also *the place* to get your Railmaster speakers(no surprise), and learn the dark art of DCC and sound for your model steam and diesel locomotives. Once you get here, be sure to check in here with your Unilocal mobile phone app, and get an additional discount on top of the already discounted prices too. Deal! Railmaster Hobbies is located in a small rather unique mini-mall/set of nicely restored storefronts just off the street. On the façade of the building, you will find some pretty charming and highly detailed mosaics. One of these depicts the old Bellflower SP train station, and another of the transit(trolleys/buses) that ran back here in the 1950s. What’s curious about the building is that the main façade is actually perpendicular to the curb, so the building faces«sideways» to the street. As for getting here, it wasn’t hard to get to. Just exit Bellflower Blvd off the 91, not far from the 91⁄605 interchange, and drive a couple of blocks past that shop with the giant Bagel on Bellflower Blvd. Hang a right on Walnut, and voila!
