My husband and I popped in today to try and trade some of our stuff for new treasures. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I was pleasantly surprised by a dollar sidewalk sale. I made out like a bandit! They took some of our stuff inside and we decided to use our store credit. I found a beautiful sundress and floppy hat. So I’m a happy gal. I’ve always loved the quirky stuff you can find there, and this was my best experience yet. Thanks for being awesome, Buffalo Exchange!

Like any other consignment store, this place can be hit or miss. The first time I walked in, I didn’t find anything that really caught my eye, but I could appreciate the aesthetic of the clothes they had stocked. The second time was like hitting the jackpot, so woo new clothes!
They’re very in tune with current trends and I’m assuming they only accept clothes that fit those specific looks, so this is a great spot to spruce up your wardrobe while saving a little bit of money in the process. Although, while on the topic of money, I will say some things in this store were priced a bit more expensively than I anticipated. I’ve been to the Austin, TX location and items were priced much cheaper I believe down there. Maybe it’s a regional thing?
That said, they have an awesome selection for both women and men, and it’s all very neatly organized and easy to sift through. I will more than likely be back the next time I’m in Bellingham!

They’re very very picky on what they chose to buy from someone. Make sure you only bring in really really nice stuff, and even then they might only take two pieces. The woman at the counter was friendly but the experience was blah.
The clothes they do sell are closer to retail price than consignment price. At Labels, you could find a similar product for half the cost, or if you’re looking to pay more just go to the mall.
I’ve popped in here a few times to check out their stuff and have never been very impressed.

Just walked into this place to check it out. They have lots of clothes available buts its just a little more pricey than expected. Its a nice «thrift store» type of place, but just expect that the prices are going to be more than good will ;)

This place is fun, and easy to navigate. It does cater to a certain style – a little more funky (this seems to be a Bellingham trend), but it is perfect for finding just the right hat or scarf. I got a fantastic fedora hat here. I haven’t tried to consign here because I’m not sure if my clothes would be a good fit, but all the employees were friendly and down-​to-​earth. I can’t say that I spend tons of money here, but I live right down the street… so it’s worth it for me to bop in and take a peek… you never know when you might find the perfect little thing:)

This place is ⁵⁰⁄₅₀ for me. One day I went in and found a beautiful 100% cashmere striped sweater for 25 bucks. Perfect condition and like nothing I’d ever owned.
Unfortunately, I don’t think I’m always the right fit for this place. I like more classy stylish, work out AND/​OR to work clothes. Much of the stuff at Buffalo in Bellingham, especially in these summer months, is major hipster, out-​there, or just god-​awful. Maybe the young college kiddies can wear them out partying, but I sure as heck don’t see a lot there. It’s fun to look, but it’s only 30% of the time I walk out of there with something.
I had MUCH better luck during the fall and winter months. I found a fantastic North Face jacket there for a great price. I would say their fall/​winter selection is much better than the summer selection.
Go here for a fun special occasion or just for kicks in case you find a gem.
I do love the tokens they give you if you bring a reusable bag. You put the token into one of three little boxes and they then make a donation to 3 charities. Great idea.

I am waaay too lazy to consign. Take my stuff to a store, wait months to see IF it sells, and get 30% back? No thanks. Too much hassle. I’ll just go to Buffalo Exchange where they’ll unload it on the spot, sell it at a lower price than consignment, and give me my 35% cash up front (or 50% in store credit).
I have never purchased anything here, however I’ve had great luck selling. I took home $ 120 cash in the past week, after bringing in 4 bags full of clothes and selling 2 bags of them. From the other reviews on here I think I’ve done much better than most. The key to avoiding disappointment is to only take in clothes for the upcoming season (on top of ensuring they’re clean and in excellent condition). It’s February now, and they’re already buying for spring. Sell your stuff early before they are already high in stock and don’t take it personal when they don’t take items (it’s quite possible they just already have too many pairs of size 2 skinny black jeans on their shelves already…).
Also — shout out to the buyers at this location. Having previously sold in the San Francisco locations, I was used to pretentious snooty attitudes. Not here. The girl I’ve gotten the last 2 times (I think she might be the main buyer?) is so friendly! Definitely a pleasant transaction.
Anyways, as I’ve said I haven’t actually purchased here before because my closets are already overflowing. However their designer denim goes for around $ 27 and I saw a Kate Spade bag in there for $ 42 today. There’s definitely deals to be found if you’re up for hunting.

The selection is better than most other consignment stores in town, but the prices run a bit high for what they are selling. They are also extremely picky about what they will buy from you. I recommend cleaning out your closet pre-​season and getting store credit (which is worth ¹⁄₃ more than cash back) then hit up the store when the season starts to get the best loot!

Well– they know their labels– which is more than SOME stores in this small town. And, I always go up from Cali to look for a great pair of Docs– but is that too steriotypical Seattle??? Ha!
Prices are a little overpriced for a small college town. Although, being a Cali girl– the prices are better than the Buffalos down here!!!

I’ve only visited this Buffalo Exchange once and I wasn’t very satisfied. The selection of clothing wasn’t very appealing, and on top of that, quite a lot of the clothes were overpriced. I would pick the Seattle ones over this one any day.

Always have lots of good stuff. It’s a pretty small store compared to other Buffalo Exchange’s, but I almost always find something cool. You have to search for stuff but it’s worth it. I go all the time.

Nothing kills a new-​outfit buzz when you feel like you’re trespassing. This used to be a great store. The past few years it has been staffed by pretentious hipsters who are too self-​indulged to acknowledge customers in their store.
The last two times I went in, I was ignored at the counter for nearly ten minutes before being acknowledged or helped (and it was not busy.) It’s awkward to ask for help from a clerk who is busy socializing or trying on the clothes in the mirror of her own store.
Last week, the girl complained to me about customers coming in half an hour before closing. Talk about feeling unwelcome. I don’t know why I ever bother going in. I always walk out disappointed with a memory of what I would have purchased had I not been put off by their zero-​tolerance for smiling policy.

I generally don’t like to shop here because they over price items (e.g. $ 25 for a J. Crew hoodie with a big stain on the front), but I LOVE to sell here. The salespeople are very nice, and they take a lot of my clothes and shoes. My advice for sellers would be to stick to name brands and make sure things are in season, in good condition and very clean.

I spent a long time in here on a very cold November day. It was fun. it was also unexpectedly freezing out an dI bought a good sweater. WHEW
I enjoy those on the cuff spur of the moment vacation disaster need buys!

This store is HUGE! Their selection is awesome, i’ve gotten a lot of stuff here but never had much luck selling… they just kind unceremoniously dump it all back in the bag taking 1 or 2 items and giving you minimal back for them.
But back to what I like about this place… awesome shoe collection… some trully notable vintage goods… cute jewelery… awesome accesories. Its the hip and happening thrift store in bham… their new unused merchandise like flasks and cigarette holders are totally cool with flash art splashed all over them. I want a flask so bad from them.
They have new clothes mixed in with the new so be carefull to read the label before you get to the counter you could be paying 16 or 19 bucks for a shirt unexpectedly.

They’re so freaking picky on what they choose to buy from you. But then when you look through the racks you see stained Old Navy t-​shirts for $ 12. The hell? What was wrong with my Levi jeans that were in perfect condition? Why were they rejected?
Still, I frequent this place because they do have some eclectic garments. I purchased an awesome coat for around $ 20 a few months ago that I get soooo many compliments on. For buyers it’s better, for sellers I’d take my stuff off to consignment.
