It’s uncommon to see fast food employees take pride in their work and show attentiveness beyond what is minimally required by policy. Today the staff at Dairy Queen made me feel welcome and appreciated. The cashier, Chillair, was very polite and made a personal connection, the manager, Deborah V., made rounds and spoke at length with the woman sitting next to me about her well behaved young daughter, and Amanda, one of the serving staff, was attentive to the needs of the restaurant guests. I’m glad to have spent my money here today, even though the food was about average for the chain the staff made it better overall.

First time and probably a last time stopping at the DQ. Staff(manager?) didn’t provide with any napkins with my burger. Burger was within a minute and didn’t look and didn’t taste fresh at all. Looked like they just reused the one that didn’t sell. Would not recommend.

This is a response to Yulanda W review from 6÷6÷15 I’m the manager at the DQ on Iowa St. across town. I thought I’d comment because I thought I’d enlighten you on this particular situation. Now, I don’t disagree with the fact that this could have been handled better I will give you a couple quick facts that we do. 1. The smallest size cone we serve is 3.5 oz so it would be impossible to serve you a cone that was 2 oz. and by the look of the picture you posted it was a small cone meaning it should weigh 5 oz. 2. Anything off by more than a ¼ of an ounce needs to be remade. It is because we want YOU the customer to always receive the same consistent product time after time. How would you feel if you got a big cone this time but next time it was the right size. All you would know is that it was smaller than last time and probably be upset. 3. We rarely waste any product. We scrape the ice cream into a cup so that we can use it for another product, most commonly for blizzards. Anyway, I hope your not too upset and I’m sure nobody wanted to ruin your day. We really try hard to serve our customers the best possible way we can. Thanks for the feedback! –Beau

It was a sunny day so we decided to grab a couple of ice cream cones to enjoy the lovely day. Then the entire mood went into the dumps when we witnessed the server weighing our ice cream cones after dispensing to make sure we didn’t get too much based on the manager’s request. Well guess what… it weighed 2.3 oz = too much. So the manager stepped in & scrapped both cones of ice cream off into a cup & re-dispense the«right amount = 2oz» before giving us our cones. Can you believe this?! Really?! You can’t spare the extra«0.3oz» of ice cream to your customers?! Even if the server needed training on how much to dispense don’t do this in front of me. What are you going to do with the ice cream scrapped out?! Put it back into the machine?! Or even worse throw it away?! I’ll never go to DQ again.

The staff didn’t understand the urgency in «my bus is going to leave in two minutes, get me anything in one minute». They did get the money in one minute, but failed to deliver the food they suggested I should pay for. Also, they would not hand me the small fries that were ready, because apparently I had paid for medium fries. Result? They got it almost 50% right — they got what they wanted alright, only I didn’t get what I wanted. DQ could definitely use some employees with a little more sense.

Very kind, attentive staff. Very clean, good food. They never make me feel odd for coming in with a service dog and rush an order if I am late for a class. Highly exceeded expectations!

I would give it 3 stars, but I have to counteract that 1 star from over a year ago and this place is so nice now. The staff is very fast and courteous, it no longer smells like urine because it has been totally Remodeled! best dq in the city.

If i could review without a star i would. Upon entering this location I was met with an overpowering dirty bathroom/urine stench which was so strong and unappealing — the thought of icecream became revolting. OMG! No thank you.
