Four Points by Sheraton Bellingham Hotel & Conference Center

WARNING: DO NOT USE FOR EVENTS! I have been working with this hotel for years for corporate events and was just told that 3 reservations I had made 4 months ago were not booked, despite confirmation from their staff. They offered no solution and had no regard for the inconvenience. There are plenty of other meeting venues in Bellingham, don’t waste your time with this one.

After spending the night in two overpriced, not so great hotels from Los Angeles to Bellingham Washington, this place was the best! Shelby checked us in after I made the reservations on Expedia and she was so sweet! The hotel was beautiful and Shelby said recently renovated except for a couple of meeting rooms still under construction. The room she put us in was gorgeous with a nice king bed. It was also pet friendly for our pug. Thank you Shelby for your hospitality! Misha thanks you too for her biscuit!

A beautiful white blanket of snow today and my 25 year old furnace decided to retire abruptly. Seriously concerned that my fingers were going to break off like broken icicles, I decided it was time for a staycation. The Four Point Sheraton is about a mile down the road from my home so it’s the logical choice. I looked on Priceline and Hotwire for a quick cost point of reference. No shame in my game, I milked the tragic death of my furnace when I called the hotel directly to play let’s make a deal… and Dana was appropriately sympathetic. He told me he could let me have the room for $ 99. I explained that online was a $ 71 price. Dana promptly offered to match the online price. Cool. I stayed there a few years back and it was around two hundred bucks so playing the old lady helpless victim has its upside… I rolled in about 40 minutes later and Dana had jetted for the day but the front desk person gladly did the deal for this local. I literally live about a long mile up the road on 2 acres this hotel is right next to the freeway and a giant grocery supermarket. 2 out-​of-​town guests who arrived just before me were taken care of lickety split. Great overall… lobby modern, sleek and clean. The restaurant/​bar attracts some locals and holds its own on Unilocal.The room is moderately clean… on par with top 4 – 5 star lodgings… I say moderately clean because all public lodgings strike fear in my mind as I imagined a blue light special. The temperature controls work like a fine thoroughbred. Coming from the Arctic of my home I could not have asked for a better heating and cooling system.
The food selection for in room was above par and the price point was extremely reasonable. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to partake. Believe me I don’t have to be hungry to eat and the items looked relatively interesting but I was sporting a bit of craziness and I didn’t want to tempt fate. The indoor pool area looked wonderful and clean. Bed was very comfy. Well here is the star loser… don’t be grossed out but the prior occupant apparently drooled some semi-​solid matter that looked like it may have been remnants of a chocolate dessert. I imagined that the weary traveler fell asleep on his cloud like bed with a mouthful of exceptionally good room service dessert… and he was a mouth breather. Front desk happily switched comforters post haste

Newley remodeled. Checkin was fast. Stayed in a suite, room was clean and new, however only one light in the entrance, the rest lamps. This made the room dark. Thermostat on heater in each room was very hard to read because of this, I had to get out my phone for light. Would be better with one thermostat on the wall. Water pressure isn’t very strong, and it took awhile to get more than lukewarm water with handle all the way on hot. Wifi signal in room was strong. Internet speeds not impressive, provided by comcast, got 2Mbps down and .99Mbps up, with a 4ms ping, as tested from
. Food at restaurant is excellent.

One of the best run hotels I’ve stayed in. Front desk and staff was super friendly. Hotel was clean and room was cozy. The wait staff at the lobby restaurant was attentive, knowledgable and professional. Pool could have been a little warmer.

Checkin was fast, and the staff are friendly and helpful. The room is clean and updated, and quiet. The beds are very comfortable. The heating/​cooling systems works well at keeping the room temperature steadily comfortable. The atrium is neat to be able to look down on the indoor pool and hot tub. Everything about the experience is good and the price for the stay is excellent.
A couple personal good things from our experience: 1. Our daughter accidentally bought a $ 14.99 movie rental so I called down and they did not hesitate to remove the charge. 2. We prepaid for breakfast upon reservation and it was worth it to do so. It was very tasty and Norma, our server, was very nice and personable.

Checked in 10÷01÷15 with some friends for a wedding we were attending, on this same date the hotel was transitioning from Best Western to Four Points, it was a little tricky getting to the hotel once we got off I-​5 only in that it’s located behind a Fred Meyer store and there is some construction happening on the back of the property, not related to the hotel but I feel it affects it.
The accommodations are nice, since it just went through a multi million dollar renovation everything is nice and new, nice large beds (2 Queens in my particular room) nice décor in the lobby, roaring fire place and very friendly helpful staff. Nice location right off the freeway and close to many things, that Fred Meyer store is very convenient and awesome (that will be a different review) the mini fridge (empty, not a wet bar) and microwave in the room made it handy to warm up leftovers from eating out. There is a pool on the property, indoor.
A few minuses, and I do believe once the kinks are ironed out, it will be worthy of 5 stars:
–The Wi-​Fi was psychotic, it kept bouncing between the old server and the new server, once I received the log in information for the FourPoints server, I had no issues, my Verizon friends did, don’t know why.
–For the love of all that is holy, you have a handy dandy Keurig machine available, but please supply more than 2 K-​cups, some of us like more than one cup of coffee in the mornings, just saying.
–I didn’t pack toiletries assuming that they’d be supplied, WRONG… there are shampoo, body wash and conditioner dispensers in the shower (that was cool and handy) but no little lotions.
–I was in Room 310 was across the construction site across from the parking lot, there was noise which wasn’t too bad per se, however on the last night I opened the window a bit to get a cool breeze and even though the double drapery was closed, there was a lot of noise, those construction workers worked on the weekend too! So, my suggestion is, keep those rooms aside unless the hotel is not fully booked, I made my reservation in August for the October wedding so I know I could have been put in a room away from the construction noise (just saying)…
Overall, my stay was great, again, the staff bent over backwards to please you, the shuttle service was great and very accommodating, case in point, my friend was in charge of getting the mother of the bride’s flowers to the church but forgot them (we were in charge of the groom, LOL) and my friend called the hotel, explained the situation and the shuttle driver picked up the flowers and got them to the church on time, they also agreed to pick up my friends at a different location in town to take them to the airport, THAT’S CUSTOMER SERVICE! If ever I’m in the area again, I’d stay there and hopefully the psychotic Wi-​Fi would be fixed! :)
