Ivar’s is not cheap, but the clam chowder is delicious and the fish and chips never disappoint. This is a mall location and is super easy to get to if you need to take out or get back to work fast.

Great customer service. I was very happy with how friendly the cashier was and appreciated that she offered me a glass of water. I had a 3 piece and a Caesar salad which I enjoyed. Will stop by again if I visit this mall.

I ordered kid’s menu since I only wanted light meal. And good thing I was allowed to order kid’s menu. Service was fast. Food wasn’t memorable just tasted average. I think I had better food in different locations though. Cod tasted dry and not fresh. Fries were okay. I should’ve gone to McDonald instead.

Fish & chips and a chowder if that is what you’re craving for while at the Bellisfair mall food court. This place has been around for a while. Their pricing is definitely not cheap at all considered its at a food court and quality is just average. Once in a while they will have specials like shrimp cocktail for 2.99 $. I wish they can have more combos or specials in the near future.

At the mall and decided to grab lunch so I went to Ivan’s. Not bad but it wasn’t great. It just seemed like a better long john silvers. Got the seafood combo and the fish was the best part about the meal!

We came here on a shopping trip — Ivar’s is located conveniently in the Bellis Fair food court. It seems quite popular as there’s always a row of trays waiting to be topped with seafood! The cashier was really sweet — I was short a few cents and she let me off. I ordered Baby Prawns and Chips with a side of onion rings($ 1.49 when you order them with an entrée). The prawns and chips cost $ 7.29 and come in a paper boat with tartar sauce and ketchup on the side. I wouldn’t say that the prawns are the freshest(in fact I’d bet money that they’re frozen). The batter is crispy enough and the prawns have a nice salty flavour to them. The fries are pretty good — crispy on the outside, soft and warm on the inside. I definitely did not leave feeling fit and healthy! I unfortunately can’t comment on the onion rings as they were my friend’s. They did, however, look quite nicely browned but a bit oily. Overall, Ivar’s is a nice place to go when you’re craving sinfully unhealthy food. It’s in a food court so there’s no ambient restaurant atmosphere, but for a quick meal it’s more than satisfactory.

Bellisfair Mall is the closest, well-equipped mall after the border. So if I’m feeling like some clam chowder, this is the place to go! I’ve never had anything else from Ivar’s except the White and Red Clam Chowder. I like the white chowder, creamy with bits of clams, bacon and potatoes. It always hits the spot during a long, cold day of traveling. I also like to take home a tanker of chowder if I’m heading back home too. But be weary, if you cut it too close to closing time, they sometimes run out of chowder!

Just seems to be better going to Ivars at the pier in DT Seattle but for a food court, just alright. Nothing special, nowadays even British pubs make better fish and chips. played it safe and ordered a cup of their white clam chowder from the ‘Puget Sound’. Bits of bacon and clams. At least the young lad admitted their main plant ships the product in bags to each of their locations daily. located food court. AMEX good.

Yeah, I know this is in a mall food court, but that doesn’t excuse it from being so awful. I’ve had Ivar’s right down by the waterfront in Seattle so I guess it was wrong of me to compare that… to food court food. The halibut was ridiculously dry and it was clearly frozen and not fresh(again, why did I hope anything good would come out of a seafood stall in the food court of any mall!!!). The clams were by far the worst. I’m sorry but was there even clam in there? All I tasted was batter, and more batter. Luckily the clam chowder was decent. It’s sad when I have to say that the best thing I had was the fries… and even those weren’t great. Choosing this was a grave mistake. I could have had better food at the McDonald’s, Cinnabon, mongolian grill, Chipotle or maybe just anything for that matter.

Awful food. For a place that does deep-fried seafood, you’d think the product would be better than supermarket fish sticks. It isn’t. The halibut I had was dry, probably freezer-burned and way overpriced for what it was. You needed enormous globs of tartar sauce to be able to eat this. The fries that came with it were adequate but not nearly plentiful enough. I would never eat here again, not even if it was free. I feel like they stole from me.

Let me write the most honest review about the most tasteless, tiny, and costly fish and chips I have ever had. I must admit, I was in a bit of a rush for a quick cheap meal. I believe that is why anybody chooses to eat at the mall. I had a craving for fish and chips, and decided to eat at a chain fast food place that I have never tried before. For three pieces of halibut, it cost $ 16. That is insane!!! I can’t stress that enough. To save a few bucks, my husband and I decided to share, thinking that if we are paying that much, they must be both good, and large pieces. What was given was incredibly thin and overcooked pieces of fish. Each piece maybe measured four inches wide, by less than a quarter of an inch thick. I have seen potato chips that were bigger than the measly pieces I have been given. Additionally, there was a small handful of fries served with it. It was comparable to a small fries at Mcdonalds. However, they were decent fries. I have learned my lesson.

wattup seafood bitches!!! Wanna have bomb-ass Chowder but don’t wanna lug ur ass to Seattle? then drive only 15 mins from the border and come to Bellis Fair mall in Bellingham! head to the food court and you look for Ivar’s seafood bar. From there you’ll find the sexiest tasting Chowder you can ever have! seriously so much better then some gourmet seafood restaurants here in Vancouver! U wanna take some home with you? then head to Costco and u can get a shit load from the frozen food section and take the real thing home with you! Also check out their fish and chips, Fried oysters,… well pretty much everything u can find from a pier to this little-ass mall ;)

This little seafood bar was situated in the Bellingham food court, but of all the places, it had quite a line up. Sooooooo… I had to try it out. There was fish and chips, fried oysters, fried clams, clam chowder etc. They had a variety of seafood, but no raw oysters. Howevr, they did have two very interesting things that I’ve never seen. Shrimp cocktail or crab cocktail for around $ 5. The crab cocktail wasn’t bad, it was real crab, a good portion on top of cocktail sauce and the bottom has celery. It was pretty looking too.

I’m torn. On one hand, Ivar’s has nostalgia value. On the other, prices and taste vary wildly, so you must choose very, very carefully. On our last trip to the States, I went for value in the English-style fish and chips combo. Abort, delete, undo! The fish was just way too salty, and on my first bite I wished I had not been such a cheapskate and had gone for the original Ivar’s fish n’ chips, perhaps even to the point of splurging on halibut. I guess the only reasons I’m giving them this many stars are that the chowder was pretty good for a mall stand — rich, creamy broth with plenty of fish n’ potatoes — and given the other choices in the Bellis Fair Food Fair, Ivar’s is the best of the bunch.
