Consistent high quality service. The employees are knowledgable, approachable, and thorough. The store is clean, and only carries high quality products. I had a great experience this morning where I got help with my stroller tires and my kid got to try out some bikes. I’ll be back for all of my future bike (and stroller!) needs.

Stopped here yesterday to buy a Helmet. Great sales clerk helped me out (I think it was the owner, but not sure). She set me up with a ton of info about riding in Bellingham as I just moved here. 5 stars so far and will stop here first for my bike needs.

I’ve been to almost every bike shop in town and Kulshan stands out as the most friendly and helpful shop by far. I’ve brought my road bikes there for parts and service and every time I’m helped by someone who treats me as their number one priority. I’m not even a big spender and my bike isn’t that fancy. If you’ve been burned out by the indifference most other local shops have toward customer care, I recommend trying Kulshan for a refreshing change. Keep up the good work! You’ve definitely earned me as a customer for life.

I love this place and the people. The employees are extremely knowledgeable — it’s not easy keeping up on the newest equipment, and why you may want a 29er or a hard tail instead of something different, but they do a great job of explaining things so you can spend more time out riding, and less in the bike shop! But on many occasions they’ve actually fixed my bike for next to nothing and got me back on the road in minutes. Once, they fixed my flat (3^rd of the day on day one of RSVP) moments before they closed, so my bike was ready for another 100 miles the next day. Plus they have great clothing, bikes and gear.

Wow we couldn’t be happier with this place. Our son got his brand new Trek 8 speed bike ran over by kids in a truck on our 4^th of July camping trip in Birch Bay. His helmet was crushed too. This bike shop got us in right away when we called and fixed his bike in one hour! We were so thrilled. They were nice and helpful and speedy. Everyone there is very knowledgeable and friendly. They know a ton about all kinds of bikes and even spent the time to fit my son’s new helmet and help me figure out the helmet straps.

Upon the theft of my beloved bicycle, I began the hunt for a new ride. I visited all of the bike shops in Bellingham – Kulshan Cycles was by far my favorite. The staff is extremely friendly and knowledgable. They worked with me to pick out the perfect cycle which included multiple visits and a lot of test riding. They helped outfit all the accessories I demanded (beer holder, lock, lights, etc). Kulshan also offers a bike tuneup, and a basic bike knowledge class for those who purchase a bike. Overall– great customer service, great products.

It is hard to throw down the cash for a high end bike without trying it first. I stopped by Kulshan a week ago after calling and being told they had demo bikes. Turns out that you have to buy the bike first, and then you get to ride it for 4 hours and if you return it before your 4 hours are up, then they will buy it back for $ 50 less than you paid. If it comes back clean. Oh, and I couldn’t demo a bike that day anyway because they were only going to be open for another 3 hours, so I should come back tomorrow. What a pain. This place has no idea what customer service is. I would be scared to buy a bike here after my experience trying to demo. A different shop was more than friendly and got me set up on an awesome bike that I could keep for two days since they were closed on Sundays! Kulshan, take some notes!

I stopped by on a beautiful, sunny day in June to see if they rented bikes. No one approached me upon entering, but while wandering around the front counter, a store clerk approached me and kindly answered my question. Unfortunately this store doesn’t rent bikes, but the young woman behind the counter was helpful enough to refer me to their competitor Fairhaven Bike & Ski who does rent bikes. Plus, she provided me with directions for getting there.
I browsed the shop and found that they had a nice selection of Trek and Cervelo road bikes. There were also cruisers and mountain bikes available. Although not a huge selection of bike clothes, there were a few key items like jerseys with Washington themes, fun unisex socks from the Sock Guy, and bright colored outerwear for rain protection and safety.
Even though they didn’t offer the service I was wanting, I was impressed that they were willing to offer me the information I needed to find it elsewhere.

I’ve always received over-​the-​top service when purchasing bike accessories and parts at Kulshan. They seem to do a great job curating quality products at a fair price. Haven’t purchased a bike or had a maintenance done here yet, but they’ve certainly earned any future business from me!

I took my bike here a couple of weeks ago to get some modifications done
The guy at the service counter totally ignored me. I finally called him on his being so rude he was ok from then on…
My bike was supposed to be done on a Mon… I finally called them on Wed… I was told they wouldnt get to it for another 5 days or so… and thats pretty much it, take it or leave it.
The attitude of the staff… including the service manager… was condescending, elitist. and frankly pretty rude I told them to void the work order… picked my bike up…
(I then took it to Fairhaven bike & ski… where it was done in 48 hours & the staff was polite and professional…)
The staff at Kulshan is VERY unimpressive… the very poor customer service and crap attitude, cost them a customer… forever
Fairhaven on the other hand treated me with respect and kindness… and earned a long term customer.

Strolling in as a casual customer, I walked away a more knowledgeable cyclist thanks to the sales staff at Kulshan. Definitely coming here for my next commuter bike purchase. They let you test ride around the block, all they need is your license to place on hold while you do.

Hubby was in the market for a new bike again after he decided he didn’t like the commuter one he bought last year — sigh… expensive mistake!
We came across this store in looking for the 29er style bikes and this is a gem in downtown Bellingham! They carry a great selection of moderate and higher end bikes. Service is knowledgeable and friendly. We’d been in a few times before deciding to buy from them — the low pressure sales, selection and advice made us happy. They offer a small discount on the US retail price for the models hubby was interested in. This equals about a 20% savings compared to the Canadian pricing.
If you’re looking for a higher end bike, this is a great stop. Kulshan doesn’t cater to girlie bikers so if you’re looking for a cruiser, I definitely recommend the shop I went to for mine:

A classy bike shop with small town personality. If you need specialty parts or duties performed on your bike, this is the place to go. It’s located in the heart of downtown and features some of the newst and sweetest bikes on the market this year.
