I first went to this office back in July after moving to Bellingham. The front office staff were gossipy and flipping through magazines and not doing much else. I let this slide because I was there for an exam and cleaning and not there for them. Dr. Coe was professional but not overly friendly. He came up with a treatment plan and because of insurance maximums and such, I could only afford a crown until the insurance year started over. I went back in on another day to have the temporary crown put on. During this process, my gums started bleeding and he laughed about it and said, «Uh oh. We’ve got a gusher.» I thought this was in poor taste and he didn’t seem concerned for me. I went back two weeks later to have the permanent crown put on. When I arrived, I was told it hadn’t come in yet. Nobody had called me nor did I receive an apology. I was told by the young woman at the desk (I think it was Jessica) that I could either wait or come back another day. I waited for the lab to drive it over. To not receive an apology or any compensation was poor service. I had the crown put on and left. I had a cleaning scheduled for this week and e-​mailed the office regarding a couple of concerns before my appointment. I was given the runaround and then talked down to via e-​mail by the new Office Manager (Jessica M.). I am now finding a new dentist. Like a previous reviewer stated (for different reasons), avoid this office!

It’s a shame that my husband really liked Dr. Coe, but when his hygienist told him that he needed a «scaling», and that his gums were bad, my husband got suspicious. In all of his adult life, he’s never been told this. So, after a second opinion, our suspicions were correct. What a scam! We saved ourselves a $ 375 co pay (X 2, needed to be done twice) on this «needed procedure». Dr. Coe is guilty by NOT saying anything and allowing this to go on.
AND this is not the first time we’ve heard this. It was also posted on a yahoo review of his practice. We are now taking our whole family to another dentist in town. Had to leave a star just to get this posted. BEWARE
