Sarah Postma Photography

Sarah was an AMAZING wedding photographer. She is incredibly professional, hard-​working and so much fun to work with. Never having hired a photographer before, my fiancé and I had a ton of questions and Sarah was ready to answer all of them quickly and very sweetly (even though I am sure she gets those same questions daily). She took the time to get to know us and really understand what we wanted in wedding photos. She worked with us tirelessly leading up to the wedding, helping develop the best strategy for what we wanted. The engagement session was a total blast but the real fun came at the wedding. Sarah made me feel like the most beautiful bride in the world. The pictures turned out amazing and during the solo session she was so complimentary and kept my confidence up. For examples, while we were driving to the (completely outdoor) wedding venue, it was pouring. Sarah kept up her bubbly, positive attitude even though I was getting ready to lose it. Her sunny outlook really kept me together through the reveal. She was sure the rain would stop (and it did, thankfully!) but even if it didn’t she was ready to put on a poncho and keep shooting. Sarah is a beautiful photographer (obviously, just look at her work) and a very genuine person. We were so lucky to have found her and will cherish the photos she captured forever!

She did an amazing job capturing our proposal. Had K not pointed her out after popping the question, I never would have known she was there taking pics of us! In fact, when he pointed to her, my immediate instinct was to think that she was one of our friends because she waved and looked so friendly.
Not only was Sarah kind and responsive throughout the communication process of setting things up for the big surprise, but another plus was the option to pay via credit card online.
We are extremely pleased with the output of her work! Creative angles, perfectly timed snapshots of our expressions, and overall, flawless execution! I really appreciate the logistics of it all too. She had to arrive with plenty of time, keep an eye out for us, and really work under pressure! A USB of both color and black and white photos was mailed to us with a personalized handwritten card within 2 weeks, and oh! The preview of a few key photos emailed that very night was an awesome perk!
The only part we’re bummed out about is that she wasn’t available for our wedding day!

Sarah was probably the most organized and easy to work with vendor out of all of my wedding vendors. Her photography is super-​amazingly-​awesome and totally captures the entire essence of the event. She is very relaxed while working with you as a couple or a family of 30 including 4 generations. She made a point of writing down photos and parts of the wedding that were really important to me and captured every one of them. While my attention was being pulled every which way, she would send reminder emails for important dates/​deadlines. She was on time and extremely professional throughout the whole process and I was so happy with the final photos and album. Multiple people have complimented me on her work and told me that the photos made them feel like they were there again. I totally recommend her!

Simply AMAZING! Sarah photographed our wedding last September and not only were the photos breathtaking, she is a complete joy to work with!
The wedding photo package included a session of engagement photos which we took in the spring prior to the wedding. We visited three locations in both the city and suburbs of Chicago and spent an entire afternoon capturing beautiful moments. My fiancé actually enjoyed having his photo taken! They really grasped our personalities — we loved them so much that we incorpated them into the table numbers at our reception.
Leading up to the wedding, we emailed often and even met for coffee. She answered all of my questions (some of them not even relating to photography, just random wedding questions as I knew she had been involved in so many!). We put together a detailed schedule for the day and she took detailed notes to ensure she would get all of the shots I wanted.
As for the wedding, words can’t express how magical the photos are. My fiancé and I took photos before the ceremony — all around Michigan Avenue and they turned out amazing. The colors in the photos are unbelievable and the way she was able to highlight the beautiful architecture as our back-​drop was GORGEOUS! When I look at the ceremony photos it’s almost as if she was in 5 places at once — capturing all the emotion and special moments from every angle of the church.
We’ve gotten so many compliments on our photos from friends and family. They make me smile from ear to ear everytime I look at them (which is all the time!!!). The icing on the cake is that Sarah is an awesome person. She made us and our wedding party feel at ease at all times. Everyone told me how much they loved her sweet personality.
