Canine Couture

While I agree with the one Unilocaler who commented regarding their customer service, (the woman working front desk /​answering the phones needs a class on how to be friendly and how to greet their customers) perhaps she is just not a people person, or doesn’t handle well under pressure… not sure… Anyway… I will say I loved the groomer. I can’t remember what her name was but she was super friendly, and my shitzu came out super fluffy, and HAPPY. I will return.

I have been taking my Carter (a bichon/​shihtzu mix) to Canine Couture since he was a few months old. He is now 3 years old. I always get complimented on his hair and have been asked multiple times where I get him groomed.
Pricing is pretty average for the cost of grooming, on the higher end of average though. If your dog requires grooming, you know it’s expensive to keep up with it. I wish there was a customer loyalty program or something.
The store is located in the village area of Bellmore. If your appointment is early, there is usually street packing. If there is no street packing, you will definitely find a spot in the parking lot located behind the store.
I used to live in Massapequa and now live further away but still drive all the way to Bellmore for his grooming. For the most part his puppycut haircuts are consistent. I’m sure it has to do with different groomers and their styles. I’ve never had to ask them to re-​do anything. The girls there seem to love him as much as I do, which makes me feel comfortable with leaving him there. Sometimes he’s done in an hour, sometimes in 6 hours. I guess it depends on how busy the day is. It just makes it a little hard to plan the day out to run errands when I don’t really know when I have to be back.
I trust Canine Couture with Carter and that is the most important thing to me.

Got our yorkie «groomed» there about a month ago. She came out almost the same as she went in. They call it a puppy cut. Was sort of displeased with the service. No big deal. So today we see a coupon in the mail for $ 10 off. We decide to give them another chance, especially for a $ 10 discount. Long story short, after explaining our unsatisfactory first experience but willingness to give it another go, the manager said we didn’t fit the coupon criteria because we weren’t new customers. Seeing as we just moved into the area and we didn’t have a great first experience, you would think that for a one time discount of $ 10 that would be worth gaining a lifetime customer. But apparently their customer service needs some grooming of its own.

Rachel is a true dog lover and a warm and gentle person. She is exactly the kind of person that you want caring for your best friend. I am so glad I found here. I never need to worry avbout my friends care while I am away!
