De La Mer Salon and Spa

Couldn’t decide what rating to give as I had a mixed visit. Overall everyone was very friendly and I’m happy with the way my hair came out. HOWEVER — I purchased a groupon for a single process, cut and blow dry. At the salon my colorist said that a single process only meant the roots. Now I’ve been getting my hair colored for 20 years and I’ve never heard that before. It’s always meant a single all over color. (Even if you google it that’s what it says). Now maybe the definition has changed recently but they should be clear in their descriptions. I just thought it was a little unfair. I opted to go with just the roots (not pay the additional charge for all over color) and it did come out nice but still… I won’t be going back for that reason

My hair has never been better since I came to De La Mer. Dominique is an amazing colorist and JoJo is an amazing stylist. I seriously wouldn’t trust my hair to anyone else!

Honestly had the best experience! Ashley has made me love my hair. She walked me through the entire cut and what would work with my face shape and everyday styling. She totally put me at ease. Everyone was really friendly and knowledgable. Thank you Ashley!

I have been trying to find a good hair salon to go to regularly. I always end up coming back here. Although they are pricey, they are consistent and product amazing results. I have been here a few times, but I am only going to talk about my last experience.
I desperately needed to get a color correction. My hair was blonde with a green tint in it. I walked in, greeted Lindsey, my pal for the day. She was friendly and was more than ready to tackle my mess of a head! We conversed about what I wanted the end result to be and she gave me advice, along with how we’d get my hair back to normal color.
Lindsey was with me all of the way, updating me with how the color process was going and reassuring me that it was going to turn out good. I never felt neglected.
Anyways, 5 hours later, my hair is normal and one color again! I got a trim by Ashley and she made my hair look great. Lindsey finished up by blowing out my hair and gave me recommendations on hair products to keep my hair looking great.

I got a gel mani here a few months ago.
I didn’t feel like I got the full mani «experience».
Not a great color selection and only a few spaces.
It was also very expensive at $ 33. Almost $ 40 with tax and tip.
Most places in the area charge $ 20-​$ 25 and I wouldn’t say the polish lasted any longer here.
There were visible lines in the polish, but there’s really not much you can do after they’re set by the UV light.

I can honestly not say enough great things about De La Mer. Every time I walk out of the salon I feel absolutely amazing. I highly recommend all of their services!
ALL of the girls are extremely well trained in their positions and are constantly taking classes to educate themselves and their customers.
I can always rely on JoJo and Gina for an amazing cut, blow out, and styling. I am someone that is typically terrified of cutting my hair more than an inch or two. With JoJo and Gina I trust whatever they do because I know it will turn out amazing. Their blowouts always leave my hair with volume that lasts for days!
Dominique and Jamie are exceptional colorists. Having A LOT of color in my hair from years of processing and constantly changing with the seasons — both know exactly what colors to mix to deliver whatever look I am trying to achieve.
Joselle is one of the most talented makeup artists I have ever used. I always tell her to do whatever she thinks would look the best and she always goes above and beyond my expectations. I always say I wish I could use Joselle every day!
Whether makeup or hair I always receive endless compliments when I leave the salon!

If you want to look like a babe, run to this salon. Dominique is the best colorist in Long Island. You can trust her to make magic with your hair. JOJO has mystical hands and my cut and blow made me so Foxy I couldn’t keep the males away from me that night. The place is professional, the wash is relaxing. I wouldn’t go anywhere else. worst hair salon. upscale? that’s too funny to even joke about. Snobby, pretentious, ridiculously self-​absorbed salon workers. And, ultimately, that’s all they are — workers in a salon. Someone should tell them that! Went in to get bangs cut– worst job ever. My husband has done a better job. And $ 10.00??? Where do you think you are — in Manhattan? Never, ever go here unless you like the pretentious, snobby sort.

I highly recommend this salon for your bridal party! Dominique highlighted my hair for my wedding, and it came out phenomenal. She made sure my hair was perfect for my wedding, and it was. Stephanie did the updos for my wedding this past weekend and my hair was perfect. I did a trial with her well before the wedding and we discussed exactly what I wanted. She is great at updos, cutting my hair and can pretty much do any type of hairdo for a wedding. I got so many compliments at my wedding of the bun she made in my hair. My bridesmaids loved her too, and last minute staved two of my bridesmaids from a disaster hairdo at another place. Thank you so much, I shopped multiple salons with hair trials before I found them and so happy I did!

I go for Laser Hair Removal. I first started with groupon, and I absolutely LOVE Lisa! She is such a genuinely sweet woman, and really cares about putting you at ease. I am sensitive to pain, and she is really nice and understanding. I would not go to anyone but Lisa, she is the best and if you are making an appointment ASK FOR LISA.

Really friendly atmosphere! We went for a facial and were warmly greeted by staff, offered coffee and other refreshments. Every style professional wore a trendy outfit, and had impeccable makeup, making the salon feel and look modern. The skin care professional was attentive, explained the process and follow-​up routines with care. Their staff kept the salon clean at all times. I could see customers interested in all their merchandise– which was beautifully displayed! Excellent job on the facial!

been going for years so many colorist come and go and this time they really messed up my blonde hair-​did not want to fix it and I paid $ 178 and they wanted 100 for highlights got my hair fixed someplace else. ashamed was a long time customer got everything done there but now I wont go back for ANYTHING

I have had a consult and 2 laser hair removal treatments with LISA. She is GREAT! Very professional and very nice. She is extremely thorough yet gentle. (as gentle as one can be with a laser doing a Brazilian) I have 4 more sessions left with her and if needed, will definitely continue with her. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND LISA!

I went to this salon last week after a recommendation from a friend. I had my color with Jamie and cut from Danielle.
Jamie was awesome! She consulted with me for almost a half hour before we started. She knew what I wanted and was honest with what she thought was possible. My color came out amazing! I am very happy, and have gotten a lot of compliments.
Danielle gave me a great haircut that I am able manage.
They sold me three products which I am normally not a product person I have to tell you I am so happy I bought them. They make such a difference with my hair.
They are pricy. Even with a coupon, I walked out paying over 300 dollars, which I was not l prepared to do. Truth is you get what you pay for. I already made my next appointment.
I recommend this salon highly. Will try other services as well.

Returned again for an updo for a wedding. Gina did my hair, and even fit in cutting my mom’s hair which was greatly appreciated and unexpected. All in all, love this place. 20% off for every new service you try!

I recently had a laser hair removal service done with this spa. The technician was very nice but the other staff members were extremely snooty and stuck up. They were offering a special deal package to buy more laser hair treatments and when I went to purchase they stated they no longer are offering it anymore. They were unfair about honoring me the price knowing I was interested in purchasing more treatments since day one of my service. Bitter experience with the staff and receptionist would make me NOT recommend this place.

I had a great experience yesterday at De La Mer. I had an appointment for color, going from dark base w/​highlights to all over darker color w/​subtle warm red highlights. My stylist was Nina. She was very thorough as far as asking me what I wanted and the likelihood of achieving the look I desired. While I waited for my color to develop, I was asked by more than one staffer if I was okay, if I needed any refreshment. I really appreciated the attentiveness and friendly demeanor of all the employees. Nina also shaped up my bob and added additional texture to my style.
As I walked out and expressed my gratitude for the awesome job I was informed to keep up with them on Facebook for upcoming events and specials. I was so happy with the service I received that I already made a second appointment :)

My friend has been getting her haircut at De La Mer for years and always told me to go see her stylist Stephanie, as I would always compliment her hair. After 10 years with my stylist, I was on the fence. I decided to go get a blow out one day because I couldn’t get in at my salon. As soon as I walked in I was impressed. They had a beautiful selection of fair prices bags and jewelry on top of a fantastic selection of stylish and unique high quality diamond and gold jewelry ranging in affordability. I was told it was all custom made by the owner.
After arriving, I was greeted by my stylist Jojo. She asked me how I wanted my hair styled and made some suggestions based on the occasion. Then she told an assistant to wash my hair with a special shampoo and conditioner to give me extra shine noticing my hair was definitely in need of some TLC :)
I was brought a nice cup of coffee and enjoyed the conversation with her while she meticulously blew out my hair. And I don’t just mean turning my frizzy curl into straight and sleek. She gave be a gorgeous big curl at the bottom and pinned the top of my hair so it fell just right when she took it down! I had never seen anything done like this before. I felt like a movie star ready for the red carpet!
Needless to say I have returned since my first visit and am now a loyal client. 20% off any new service to the salon… how can you pass that up! Oh yeah… and never looking back! And have seen just about everyone there. They are all so nice and educated. I never feel scared to try someone new. They all have told me about how they take education classes together which really impressed me.
You get what you pay for and every time I leave feeling money well spent! Whether it’s a haircut, color, keratin, styling for a night out, makeup, facial or awesome gel manicures with unique nail art I always feel great when I leave!
