King Kullen

King Kullen always has fresh produce and I like they have double coupons up to $ 1.00. The store is more up scale and is not packed with white trash shopping in their pajamas. The aisles are wide with ample space for shopping, just wish that they would work on their deli department they seem very slow and un-​caring.

King Kullen gets 5 stars from me for good, fresh produce. I can always get the vegetables I am looking for. Can’t say that for some of the other local grocers. Cheap it is not, but quality produce can consistently be found.

A decent mainstream grocery, but nothing outstanding. The store has a pretty decent layout as well as an ample amount of self-​checkouts. Selection can be hit or miss, some brands are just not carried here. Prices tend to be higher than Stop & Shop. Bakery is mediocre. Beware though, the customer restroom STINKS and I only use it as a last resort. Also a terrible smell from the loading dock area, certainly not the cleanest place. It is an «OK» store, but the newly re-​opened Stop & Shop in Merrick is much nicer.

Just started shopping here this past winter after stop and shop in merrick had renovation and still after they reopened did not have certain items I buy. So I decided to give king kullen a shot and I am glad I did. They have everything I want and I never leave disappointed. Every time I shop here I am greeted by Darlean who is a cashier here. She even knows what items I always buy and goes and picks them out for me lol, very nice lady never seen such a nicer person in the super market business. Thank you

So I’m not proud to review a supermarket. This how most «Elite» members get to that amount of reviews. Check for yourself and search your supermarket, I’ll hold…

With that said, FML, we’re giving KK one star, but here’s why:
As part of many New Year’s resolutions I decided to stop throwing money away. So I figure I drink all this beer, let’s deposit the bottles/​cans.
Now forget about the filth in the area where you return items, caught me off guard but it is what it is, the problem is they sell beer that they don’t then accept your return. Buy a Shock Top, they keep your deposit at the register, but then they won’t take the can back and give your deposit back.
Not sure how prevalent this is, but it’s not cool.
Either way I’m breaking this resolution since it’s just not worth it, but people should know of their tactics.

I suppose King Kullen isn’t the absolute worst grocery store but it’s a far cry from the best. I actually saw bread with mold on it. The produce don’t look too appealing & the selection is not that great. I only ran in for some Bubba Burgers & since they’re frozen & were not outdated, at least I had some success. I am glad I don’t live in town & this is not my option for a grocery store.

This King Kullen location is another grocery store I frequent. The staff is friendly and helpful. Also, unlike other stores (at least for me) the products are always in stock. Their produce section is maintained and very clean. I like that the aisles aren’t super narrow so you can actually pass someone with your cart. However, like all places they keep so many of those stands in the aisles… it’s like navigating through traffic.
King Kullen accepts and doubles coupons which is great and they tend to send out local fliers with $ 10 off ones. Overall, this place is very clean and efficient.

What is it with King Kullen?
i was in the area and needed a few things. I decided to review the circular and see if there were any deals to be had. Lo & behold, yes! So I ventured out to find said deals.
No and nohold, all of the items in the circular that were listed were unavailable.
I continue to give them chances. It’s no wonder that whenever I go to a KK, they’re always empty.

Can’t believe i’ve lived across the street for 8 years now and have never written a review! Best part about it is that its open 24 hours except sat and sun and they have double coupons up to 1.00. i usually have no problems finding what i want and the people that shop here arent’ disgusting unlike the Shoprite next 2 towns over. The prices are fair, the store is clean and i can buy Ben & Jerry’s Mudslide at 3am, score

I hate how often I shop here simply because its close, the store sucks and always let’s me down. Always out of at least one of the items I need and seldom more then 2 cashiers. Produce section is usually poor and the bread aisle always looks like we’re having a blizzard and has been ransacked! Deli is good. Staff is overworked and store is understaffed.

This is a decent (but not great) grocery store on Sunrise Highway which is still hanging in there from the old days. The first thing one notices upon entering is that one almost doesn’t make it in! That is to say, the automatic door may stutter or delay a little bit before it finally swings open. Yes, this is a most peculiar store… some good qualities, some not so good qualities…
I could not find the coinstar machine last time I was in there, and I looked everywhere. This made shopping extremely difficult, as I was carrying around at least three dollars worth of quarters in my pocket.
They do boast one of the largest selections of generic pop out there, so if you’re looking for a flavor that Simply Soda «simply» does not manufacture, look no further than King Kullen.
The staff is friendly– probably because they have plenty of time to relax and socialize while they are NOT cleaning the store! I tell you…
And forget it if you’re looking to do your Mother’s Day flower shopping here! You’d have better luck bringing your quarters to the Exxon down the street…
