AVOIDTHISSTORE! There are plenty of other clothing stores in Nassau County who really care about their customers and take pride in giving good service. This is DEFINITELYNOT one of them. They did a TERRIBLE job altering my mother’s gown. I was there when she bought the dress and asked them to take it in, hem it, and then use the fabric to make the straps wide enough to cover her bra. When she came back for the dress, it was terrible — the dress didn’t fit properly and the straps were ridiculously wide. She had an out-of-town wedding that weekend and it was too late to come back so she asked them to fix the dress while she waited. After trying it on again, the dress fit and the straps in the front were better. Since they don’t have a 3 way mirror(most fine dress shops do) and I wasn’t with her this time, she asked the saleswoman how the back of the dress looked and she said it was«fine.» However, when my mother wore the dress at the wedding, her friend told her that the bra straps in the back were totally exposed. She had to wear the jacket to the dress the whole time even in the 95 degree unairconditioned chapel. The most incredible part is that when she came home, my mom called them to tell them what happened and to ask them to fix the dress so she could wear it again, but they said that she would have to PAYFOR the dress to be altered again. My mother told them that she shouldn’t have to pay since she already paid $ 100 for alterations that were never done properly. They were so nasty about the whole thing that she went to court on principle. The case was selected to go on The People’s Court and my mother agreed to it so it would be shown on national tv what type of store this really is. But before the show was filmed, Totally You’s owner asked that the store’s name and her name not be used. My mother, on the other hand, did use her name — she didn’t hide anything even though it was embarrassing when the judge asked her to put the dress on during the break to show the straps to everyone. The owner proceeded to lie to the judge about everything, saying that my mother didn’t wear the same bra that she had brought to the store, that she had moved the straps over to expose the bra ONPURPOSE, and that she had waited 3 weeks to call them — none of which was true. The judge said that my mother had the burden of proof and since it was one person’s word against the other, she lost the case. Unfortunately, I could not go with her to court but I was at the wedding and it was, of course, the same bra as the one that she brought to the store. The store owner even said at the end of the show that my mother never had a cane with her when she came to the store but had one at court. Well, I was with her the first visit to the store and she definitely had the cane. I doubt that it was worth lying on national television and trying to take advantage of older people because i think that the audience watching the show realized that my mother could have just gotten the straps altered somewhere else but was just trying to hold them accountable for what they promised to do. Now none of my friends or my mother’s will shop there anymore so I doubt that it was worth all the lost business. They should have just fixed the straps the way any reputable store would have — with a smile and an apology for any inconvenience it may have caused.

Went shopping at Totally You looking for a MOB dress for myself. They have a hugh selection and lots of sizes in each dress. I am an 14W, so it’s not easy to find a place to try on dresses, they had lots to chose from in my size and even more in the neighboring sizes that I could at least see how they looked. Most shops have 10’s. Someone my size can NOT even try those on. The sales help was EXCEPTIONAL. Even though it was close to closing time for them I did not feel rushed. As a matter of fact I didn’t realize how late it was. They showed me accessories to go with the dress I liked. They had lovely accessories. I did not buy the dress yet because I’m not crazy about the colors it comes in(even though Jovani offers 40 colors the two blues were not what I wanted). I am planning on going back there this week to look again. There prices were average, the dress I liked was $ 479 there, everyone has it listed for $ 500 on-line(except for the«knockoff» sites which have it for $ 135 — are we supposed to believe it’s the same dress???). Only thing is they charge extra for alterations, but I found most shops who offer free alterations, raise the price of the dress. I would definitely recommend that you stop here to give a look, you will be pleasantly surprised — I was.

They are so nice there. I went there four times before I actually bought a dress and they were so nice. Each time I went they wrote down what I tried on so when I came back the dresses would be easy to find. They didn’t rush me and were very honest about what looked good and what didn’t. The salesladies were very patient and didn’t pressure me, which was great. Would highly recommend!

You know in the movies how they stereotype the typical Jewish Mother? You can never please her and she gives everyone a hard time? Totally unreasonable? That’s my Mom. So if she found something there, anyone can!!! Loved the ladies here!

Don’t judge a book by its cover — when you drive up to Totally You, it looks like a very run-down house. The actual building isn’t in the best shape, but it’s PACKED with merchandise(some of it is great!). My mom and I went looking for her MOB dress this weekend and found some good options. Didn’t end up buying from Totally You, but we were both pleasantly surprised by the dresses in stock.
