While the atmosphere was not high end the food quality and value for the money was excellent. Authentic tasting Italian food from a real Italian from Naples. A must visit when coming to Bellport.

This place is a hidden gem and perfect for a private party! We wanted to host a dinner for our family the night before our wedding. We found Café Castello in the area and spoke with the owner, Nick, who he was incredibly accommodating. We had an entire private room to ourselves, he let us choose whatever we wanted on the menu, and he gave us a great price. Best of all, the food was top notch Italian! They don’t have beer and wine, which is completely fine, since we just picked up a few cases of wine and brought them in for the dinner. Nick did a great job and helped make our party exactly what we were looking for. I highly recommend!

The Cannoli’s where great! Didn’t like the eggplant rotini much. Everyone raves about the pizza. There was a line of people trying to get a slice. So next time I will try it. Also the outdoor area is nice, the have a small stage there.

Café Castillo has really good Italian food. I often order take out meals for dinner. Really like the chicken parm with Penne pasta. And their sauce tastes terrific. Dinner includes salad and bread.

We’ve been coming here almost weekly since it opened and enjoyed every time. The food is authentic and the owner is so sweet and friendly. This is the only place in the area like this and the meal is equally good dining in or taking out with something for everyone on the menu. Some other reviewers mentioned certain items on the menu not being available when they ordered — which is actually comforting to know that the ingrediants are that fresh and that they clearly buy for quality not quantity. This is not your run of the mill standard pizza place, it’s much more than that. Every dish is made with care and is consistently good(…hence the reason why it would take a little extra time to prepare it since it’s made to order). The breakfast wraps are really special with more gourmet options than your standard slice of cheese and the oatmeal is fantastic, better than homemade with delicious toppings. They are also happy to prepare anything you ask for and if you come often enough, they remember your order. Many people in town use them for catering and its always fantastic… can’t beat a fresh pan of lasagna with no pans to clean up :) Castello’s is definitely a favorite!

Be aware do not have breakfast here! Sadly, very sadly this turned out to be the worst place for breakfast. I think I would have had a better experience at McDonald’s. Yes it’s true. I’ll go straight to the point. «Anything that can go wrong will go wrong»! Murphy’s Law. Everything that intrigued the four of us on the menu was not available. One request after the order was shot down with REJECTION! Worst of all, the young staff member did not offer alternatives or substitutes. After 10 minutes of finally getting an order in it took over an hour to get all of our orders correct. Why? The place was not busy at all. How did our order end up at someone else’s table when the party of two arrived after us? It is obvious, this place lacks communication. When we did receive our plates, the quality and presentation was nothing to cheer about. Everyone at the table had a complaint. Pizza too cold, no butter on the buns as requested, no toasted buns as requested and for me no fresh strawberries on my French toast, which by the way I can make better at home! Home Fries tasted more like frozen home fries I use to eat when I was in high school and I enjoyed eating scrambled eggs from Mc Donald’s big breakfast platter then what was on my plate. Oh and the plastic plates, not visibly pleasing! Even though after all of this fiasco, the owner himself did not apologize for the horrible experience. It was very disappointing.

Oh boy. I don’t hand out many one star reviews. You’ve got to really mess up to get one of these from me. And Café Castello did just that. Based solely on the fact that this place is an Italian café serving breakfast would have been enough to keep me away. But our friends brought us here for breakfast so we made the most of it. There’s a chalkboard in front of the café listing daily specials, except on this particular day, they ran out of at least one of the specials: the blueberry pancakes. Yet, they didn’t bother to erase it from the board. And even though they only ran out of blueberries — not pancakes — the cashier didn’t offer an alternative berry. Instead, we asked for an alternative, specifically strawberries, and she looked at us as if we were extraterrestrials. They were«out» of strawberries too, but mushy, moldy strawberries came in our«fresh» fruit that barely filled a 10 oz. cup for $ 4.95. Then, my friend wanted something with salmon(not sure if it was a special or not) and they didn’t have that either. Instead of just saying, «sorry, we’re out of that,» the same cashier started bashing the owner’s lack of inventory management skills while the owner was right there working in the background. But then I thought the cashier maybe had a legitimate case against her boss after I tried to order a strawberry-pineapple smoothie(also written on a chalkboard), only to be told they were out of pineapple as well. I opted for the strawberry-banana smoothie instead, which tasted like frothy ice with artificial flavoring. I’m convinced the contents of this smoothie included 0% fresh fruit. And for over $ 4, that’s a rip-off. But hey, at least they left out the moldy berries. A supreme pizza had just come out of the oven. Admittedly, it looked so good, it made me change my order, but somehow, the pizza was cold. The sad part is the owner served it to me on a single paper plate with the grease soaking through on his countertop. Then he put a plastic fork and knife wrapped in a napkin right next to the greasy pizza. So the napkin got covered in grease before I could even use it to wipe my hands. I sent the pizza back to get heated up and when they brought it back to me, it was STILL cold! I literally told the owner his pizza oven might be broken. After a while, I noticed my friends were still waiting for their food even after I had already finished mine. Normally, I would have waited for everyone to get served, but I didn’t want my pizza to get any colder than it already was. We noticed the only other people in the place were eating my friends’ sandwiches. When I went to notify the staff, the owner just happened to be the first person I saw. When I told him what happened, he laughed. Apparently, losing money is funny. Because not only did they have to re-do our order, they also served the other table what they had originally ordered on top of what they received by mistake. When my friends’ order finally did arrive(about 40 minutes later), the staff forgot the butter on their breakfast sandwiches. At one point, I went to go use the men’s room to get the grease off my hands, and of course, they were out of paper towels too. The only thing this place got right was the French toast, eggs and potatoes, but not even these items were anything to write home about. The bottom line is this place should not be in business. The owner clearly has no idea how to run a restaurant. At no point did he apologize despite having multiple opportunities to do so. All told, we were here for just under an hour when we should have been in and out in under 30 minutes.

We must have visited on an off day because our experience was nothing like the previous reviewers. We came in for lunch at 12:30 today and were the only ones there. It took a little over an hour to get a sausage and pepper hero and a ravioli dish that the sauce tasted like a chilhood favorite, Franco American spaghettios ! I’m chalking up the long wait to the fact that two friends of the owner’s came in after us and were served immediately. Baked clams were mushy and under cooked. Perhaps we should have just stuck with a slice of pizza in a pizza shop!

Café Castello has the most delicious pasta dishes that I have ever encountered. The vodka sauce, the alfredo, down to even a simple tomato sauce. will change your day for the better. The selection of pizza at Café Castello is impressive, and the lasagna tastes like some sort of treasure out of mom’s kitchen. YUMMY! No matter what you are in the mood for, you can find it at this place! All around great experience every single time.

On a freezing cold Monday morning we were able to enjoy a warm wonderful pizza — there was a wide variety of classic, and not so classic slices to choose from. My Baltimore sister stated it was the«best pizza she’s ever had». They also had scones and other dessert items — we enjoyed them after our meal as well as for breakfast this morning — just wonderful!. the owner is from Naples and chatted with us about arugula recipes — looking forward to visiting there again — and maybe having some arugula pizza pie! Also — how wonderful for the village to have a lunch venue on a Monday — we were thankful!

We consistently have a great experience here(eat in, take out and even catering have all been great). Everything we have tried has exceeded expectations. Ingredients are fresh which you can really taste. As mentioned by a previous reviewer, the gelato is freshly made and excellent. They have quickly become our go to Italian spot.

I stopped in here to try their Gelato on one of the first heat waves of the year. Their gelato is made fresh daily — and you can definitely taste the difference. Both the chocolate and chocolate chip flavors were delicious and I’m looking forward to returning for more throughout the summer. Check out the courtyard next to the Café. Its a great place to sit and they sometimes have live music playing. You can also take a stroll down Bellport Lane to see some of the historic homes on your way to the marina.

Whaduhyawant? Pasta? Get your pasta here. This is the real deal, old world pasta with prosciutt’ and cream… if you want it. Your won’t find the four inch thick, dry, lasagna that is the customary restaurant offering. The lasagna arrives with a fresh, bright sauce, and the lightest of on site, made that morning, mozzarella. The gentleman who owns the business is the business. He is more than willing to make food that will keep you coming back. I eat gluten free, and brought my own GF pasta which he promptly turned into the most delightful, plentiful, creamy dish. The menu is varied, low priced,($ 13 – 15) and platter sized. You get a side salad and bread with that. There might be left overs if you can hold back. Arrive hungry, come to sit and relax. Papa will take care of you. The restaurant is open seven days a week and offers breakfast to late dinners. Music(guitar) is offered some evenings-check the web site. When you walk in you will find a scattering of small, modern, glass topped, tables that can be pulled together. Outside seating is on the side of the building where you will walk past tubs of flowers, inside a wrought iron gate to a sunny courtyard. Our waitress was eager to please and informative. She mentioned having left her past job, nearer to home, to work for the current owner and has never looked back. I suggest we make this a go to spot nestled in a lazy town with antique shops, a fine tailor, the corner deli, jewelry shops and more. A short walk down Bell Street, and you can rest on benches to view the sunset at the bay as sailboats bob in the water. If you happen to be in Bellport stop in for a refreshment and scan the menu while you rest. I loved this new restaurant, and I know you will as well. It is located in the former coffee shop location and off South Country Road.
