MY husband and I held our wedding reception here in 2005. They treated us wonderfully and assured us time and again, «We’ve been doing weddings at the Jersey Shore for 30 years» and I was right to trust them. The food was wonderful and the staff fantastic. I went to 4 weddings that same year at other locations and here are the things The Barclay did right: 1. Some one wanted coffee upon entering and there was none made, but then magically, within 5 minutes, they brought therm coffee. 2. They left glasses and water out every where for people to drink during the entire night and didn’t keep clearing away the water glasses while people danced. My guests were well hydrated. 3. Things just happened. Beyond asking for coffee, there was never a time during the night that we had to ask anyone for anything. It was all taken care of. 4. They brought appetizers down to the bridal room before we entered and our bridal party all got to eat all of the cocktail hour food as well, even though we were not in the main room. I was in 2 weddings where there was no food for the waiting bridal party, only guests, and let me tell you, I was starving by the time we got there! 5. The cake was delicious. So very delicious. This place was amazing. The guy who gave it one star is a miss. When ever anyone talks about our wedding, people remember how comfortable and easy it all seemed and The Barclay played a big part. 30 years experience then, 37 now.

Horrible… place looks old… outside needs painting… they have astro turf on the entry stairs… tacky…appetizers looks like they came from Costco… nothing is made fresh… meat chicken and fish taste like they sat in freezer for months… stay away!
