Oh dear! They didn’t even show up for the appointment that I had confirmed with them, not good! We just moved to a new house in Belmont and we need a pest inspection, but I guess we’ll be looking elsewhere.

Your service has been top drawer. The techs are so helpful and friendly. We’ve been using Clark’s for years and wouldn’t go anywhere else.

I had a mouse problem in my two-​unit house. First I contacted a company that was recommended by Diamond Certified but they were going to come twice: once to set traps and second to remove the traps and give me a diagram of where they were entering. Also, they could not come for several days. Well, we could set traps and we knew about where the mice were entering in our old but lovely house. Clark Pest Control promised to work with us until the mice were all gone and they did which took two months to get them all. They also sprayed for ants and put out rat poison in a secure box (won’t harm birds or cats) in my yard where the fruit trees attracted rats occasionally. I found them all to be polite and responsive and willing to schedule visits at my convenience.

It’s interesting that when a company clearly changes everything to fix the customer service problem, there is no way to get away from the history. Today I had a meeting with the new GM, Chris, and I couldn’t be more impressed. Looking forward to working with him further, think future customers are going to get stellar service like I did today!

I was under contract with Clark’s pest control for a long time. They were to spray an apartment that I own in San Mateo once a month. My manager thought I had cancelled with them because she hadn’t seen them in three months; she called and asked me about it. Clarks had been charging me for service those three months and not showing up!!! My mananger ran into the guy that always serviced us and asked why he hadn’t been around, his answer was he had been too busy or he had been sick! If she hadn’t noticed this Clark’s would have continued to charge me and not show up.
When speaking to a friend of mine who has something to do with a townhouse association in San Mateo; they also had Clark’s and had a similar problem. They cut their ties with Clark’s and so have I !!!
THINK TWICE BEFORE CALLING CLARK’S PEST CONTROL !!!

I’d give this place 0 stars if I could. DO NOT USE THEM. Conniving, sneaky, terrible customer service, unresponsive, rude.
I had someone come by the house the first time because after a few large rains, we had a number of places where ants were entering our house. I paid them almost $ 200 for this initial consultation. Then they have this deal where you’re essentially bullied into signing a subscription so that someone comes by once a month. I signed my soul away apparently because they called me a LOT even when I didn’t need anyone to come by.
Too bad– they sent someone without me knowing and then left a $ 75 bill on my doorstep. IF I had given them consent, I know I would have been home to make sure the job was done (like other reviews had suggested), but the reason why I also didn’t want anyone coming by was because we had just installed new landscaping in our front and backyard. We spent a good deal of money on this and didn’t want poison ruining our new plants. Besides– how do I know anything was done and they didn’t just drive by and leave a fat bill on my doorstep? IF someone had called me that day to let me know someone was coming, I mean ANY heads up, I could have told them not to come by for these reasons exactly.
So, the next day, I called Clark and they let me know ‘a supervisor’ will call me. Yes, out of the Belmont office specifically. An Indian woman knows me now and she feeds the line to me all the time. I’ve called about once a week disputing this bill for over 4 weeks because it was not under my consent. Every time, I get the same story. In fact, she blames me for not answering my phone and I’m telling her her customer service is terrible because she is blaming the customer and hasn’t done anything to resolve my situation.
I should have done more research and paid the extra cost to someone else so I don’t have to deal with this bull%#$. This was by far the worst thing I have ever looked into. Do not get to into any contracts. Don’t even call them, find someone else. They do not care so I encourage you to not support this company, and oh, P. S. they will add your fee with a finance charge for the $ 75 bill they sent you and ignore all your concerns.

We had a horrible smell of dead rodent in our house so called Clark Pest control for help. I had already removed one dead rat from under the house but there was clearly another by smelling in a closet. I had tried to crawl to that spot under the house but freaked out (very tight, dark and stinky– yuck). The Clark guy told my wife he wouldn’t be able to do any better and that the smell was «water damage» and recommended a water damage company to come take a look. I got fed up and asked a good friend to help me. We crawled to the furthest depths of under my house, an area I like to call «the tomb», and found a decomposing rat in the installation. Good thing I didn’t listen to the «expert» from Clark. My advice, call someone else!

ehh — a big company. sounds like they want to use poison on everything. i had a number of exchanges with them asking if they did rat repairs and cleaning for our roof area. no one would answer the questions, they could only schedule an inspection.
they might be fine — but i spent 30 minutes on the phone and no one could answer the basic question about the scope of their services (do you do rat-​proofing for shake roofs). i wound up calling a small local firm.

Clarks Pest Control are the ones to call if ever any doubts about pests. Ask for Ron ! His experience and professionalism went above and beyond. Thanks Ron!

Bad attitude by management in Belmont office. Techs don’t show up when requested,
Reduced my service by 70% but didn’t reduce the bill. Put me on an as needed basis
but they still wanted their money. Supervisor wasted my day by scheduling an appointment at my home to review my needs but didn’t bother to call or show up.
High turnover of reps and don’t care about the customers needs. They think it is ok to show up on a rainy day and spray and watch the rain wash the material down the drain. Too many lies and excuses. A ripoff.

I’ve been working with Ron on a recent pest control issue and he has been incredibly responsive. Any hiccups that have occurred, he has gone above and beyond to make right. I can’t speak for the other branches as I have had not so pleasant experiences in the past but everyone from Belmont has been great. Thanks Ron!

We have been using Clark for a few years now for our house. Experience have been ok — nothing too good or bad to trigger writing a review on. They have been here as scheduled, do their job and our house has been quite clear of any pest.
Until recently — we discovered a hole in our basement air vent — apparently — some mice opened up a hole to get into our crawlspace. When the Clark technician came for a regular service — he apparently noticed the hole and took the initiative himself to do a temporary fix on the vent hole. He also provided me with a few glue boards to try to catch any that may wander into our garage. He also committed to come back in a few days with proper fix to the vent as he didn’t have the supply in the truck. He also asked me to call him if we do catch anything on the glue board and he’ll be back the next morning to help us remove it.
Great attitude, very helpful — and I didn’t even ask for it!

Good customer service, but largest rip off EVER! My quote went up from $ 7,000 to $ 23,000 because wood rot had worsened since their last inspection. The 2^nd inspection for damage was a year later, but the charges should not have gone up that much. I could have had the same quality word done for a third of the price. NEVER AGAIN!

We haven’t seen a pests since but I didn’t like their bait and switch sales tactics.
We got a free (I use that term loosely) appliance that unbeknownst to us brought with it a few pests. With a young child just starting to crawl we wanted to get rid of the problem as soon as possible. My husband was given the name of Belmont’s Clark Pest Control by someone from his work, so we assumed we would receive good customer service.
Initially when we spoke to the company over the phone they quoted $ 250 for one service call. When the salesman got out to the house and realized he could not up sell us to a monthly service contract, he raised his quote up to $ 600!!! When asked why, he said «that was only a quote over the phone and wasn’t realistic now that I can see the problem.»
Bull, he didn’t find anything when he looked around with his little flashlight. He just went off my story of my husband killing two bugs the night before and our concern for our infant.
Because we didn’t want to waste anymore time, I agreed to the higher quote feeling I had just been swindled although not in a position to wait and get someone else.
The only saving grace, we liked the technician Dave who did the actual work and clearly explained what he was doing before doing it.
$ 600 bucks for a half hours work, really?

We have had pest problems in the house for a couple of weeks. after much agonising we decided to call Clark’s even after reading the bad reviews on Unilocal.Daniel was the technician sent to our house. He was very friendly, honest and answered all our questions patiently and outlined our options without charging us for the consultation. If everyone at Clark was as nice as Clark’s we will have no problem going with them. We have never used them in the past and this was very painless.

After being a loyal customer for many years, I got fed up with no-​shows, and late technicians. No follow up from a manager or supervisor to ask me why I canceled my service. I guess they don’t care enough about improving their customer service to ask what they can do better, etc.

Belmont’s Clark Pest Control SUCKS! We’ve had the service for about two years now. In the beginning, service was thorough and they showed up every two months. Then recently, its like they hired some random moron from the streets! He was either late, had some lame excuse and reschedule… then wouldn’t show up at all, and we’d still get charged for it! Well we had it! We canceled our account! There are spiders EVERYWHERE! We will take Pest killing into our own hands. At lease I know we’d do a hell of a better job than these fools!
I DO NOT suggest them!

I wish it was possible to give negative reviews for this place. These guys are total up-​selling slick salesmen who couldn’t catch a single rodent.
This was after christmas time and we found mouse droppings around our kitchen. We called Clark’s right away and they quote us $ 400 for first month’s service and $ 50 for ongoing service after that (a monthly in-​home service call). After 4 weeks and 3 different techs — they caught absolutely nothing but the mouse was still around and leaving new excrement in our kitchen.
So we cancelled service, and we’ll pay the fee because they did come out and at least put a half ass effort out. But even after I cancelled the service, they continuously billed me for «ongoing service» the next 3 months even though I’ve already cancelled service and they have not come out again. Repeated calls to customer support proved to be completely useless. They would tell me they’d escalate this situation to a supervisor, but I’d never get a call back. Then they told me I didn’t cancel service and techs has still been going to my house for service… Um no, no one has come in months now… I finally had to show up to this place in person to talk to a supervisor before I finally got this settled.
I am not the only person with issues with their billing, according to other reviews — this occurs pretty frequently. STAY AWAY!

I’ve been a client of Clark for the past two years and our service representative is Chuck. He is great and extremely responsive each time we have an ant attack. He is professional and seems to take personal pleasure in eliminating the pest that is the problem.

Really annoying Clark guy came to my door today to lay on the pressure sale. His excuse for breaking my blissful morning was that he was in the neighborhood because others needed service and they wanted to bring the truck out once… right…
I told him I’d take his info, genuinely thinking it would be good to know of a pest control place should we ever need one. Then he’s like «I don’t have any info. I can sign you up right now, let’s call your husband.»
The best part was when he said «You’ve heard of Clark right?» and I’m all «No…» He retorts: «Everyone knows Clark, you must be new to the area.» It’s was like Ron Burgendy’s classic line «You know, I’m kindof a big deal.» Dude, you kill bugs. No thanks.
