I was so sad when the Peach Diner went out of business — but happy to have another great restaurant take its place. We eaten here once and done take-out twice. The lamb kebab was so delicious I didn’t want to try anything else! I wish there was more parking… when the weather gets better, we will definitely be walking here for dinner.

This place exceeded my expectations! We went for brunch and everyone was thrilled with their meals. I highly recommend the shawarma/gyro, we tried both falafel with hummus and lamb with tzatziki. We were able to sub the French fries for home fries which transformed it into a brunch dish. A friend had the Phinix Phrench toast which may have been the best French toast I’ve ever had! It was cut into little toast points, with a dish of maple syrup for dipping. This place has only been open 2 months and I am sure it will quickly become a local favorite! In addition prices were very reasonable.

I love the lamb shawarma wrap! The meat is tender and flavorful. This is the perfect place to grab a quick lunch to go or eat in. Portions are generous. Check out the lunch specials!

This was a pleasant surprise after a workout at the nearby gym with my wife. The grill was opened recently and to support local business we decided to give it a try. My wife ordered the chicken shish kebab and mine the pork kebab. The meat was really tender and full of flavor. The presentation was great. The waiter was very nice and helpful to explain about the thin sheet of bread that serves as the wrapper for the meal. The bread was delicious for dipping in the out of this world hummus. If there are areas that can improve, they would be 1) a better selection of vegetable and also 2) the updating of the décor by first removing the cheap Christmas lighting and decorations. That said, overall it was a wonderful experience and we will definitely return often.

This place is terrific!!! After moving to the United States from one of the Turkic countries, my stomach begged for food that would immedeately teleport me to my mom’s kitchen. Boom! I found Phinix Grill! The food is amazingly delicious and staff is very attentive and friendly. I fist visited Phinix Grill with my coworkers the new year’s week. We ordered«Meat Lover Mezze for 4» with skewer-raosted meat– lamb, pork, beef and chicken with 4 sides of delicious season baked potato, beet salad and carrot salad. Oh God, the meat just melted in my mouth!!! It is so tender and soft. I am telling you, I felt like I was back home in my country eating all of this authentic food. On the top of entrée, we also ordered a few salads and appetizers. One of the salads was Greek Salad. Phinix Grill’s Greek Salad is not a regular greek salad with tossed lettuce, tomatoes and feta cheese from most mediterranean places around Boston. Phinix Grill’s Greek Salad is just like a Greek Goddess– full of love and generosity. It was definitely prepared with love! It is light, delicious and super healthy! Phinix Grill is also great for organizing private parties, birthdays, baby showers, banquets or office gatherings(up to around 15 – 20 people) I gurantee you that you will be fed, taken care of and surrounded with loving and attentive staff!!! Anyways, words are not enough to describe the deliciousness, friendliness, amazingness, comfiness, warmth, love and just hospitality of this place! You gotta go and treat yourself and loved ones with food at Phinix Grill that is prepared with love and care! I am attaching photos!

Bad service. Meh food. I went here for breakfast with four buddies. It looked like it had potential. Right off the bat the waiter seemed a slow but that was ok. However, after we put in our orders, everyone got their plates except me. I waited another 20 mins and finally said something. It seemed he forgot to put it in, even though he checked in on us several times and clearly there was one plate missing. They did not apologize and even had the nerve to ask if we enjoyed our experience. Buddies didn’t think food was great either. They gave a hot dog with cilantro and called it sausage. Would NOT come back.

This is a new spot that opened recently. It offers an interesting fusion of Mediterranean, Caucasian(Armenian, Georgian), Greek and other cuisines. The quality of meals is very high, and it all comes with a very affordable price tag. I have been to this place for lunch/brunch twice now, and ordered their«Adjarouli», which is bread with cheese and eggs, with optional beef meat, and a lamb gyro. I have also tried their banana-based pancake with honey. I was very pleased with all of the above. And it comes at a very reasonable/affordable price. It should be said that the place is very new, and I think the interior design/ambiance may have some room for improvement, but what matters to me most(quality of food, quality of service and price, in that order), this restaurant scores highly.

We had a less-than optimal experience tonight. The service was off: no one checked on our food once delivered(and it was quiet there), someone cleared our table and offered us dessert before the main course arrived, requests for water went un-answered(let alone not noticing my glass was empty for 15 minutes), they were out of several dishes(first lamb shish-kebab, then, no wait, we have lamb, but not the hot wings kebab, also no beets… very disappointing), the lamb was a bit overdone, and not served with tzatziki or yogurt sauce, just a dollop of hummus – had to order the tzatziki for the dry lamb. One of us ordered the veggie platter, but the eggplant was so heavily smoked, it was inedible. To their credit, they did give us complimentary hummus and crispy pitas, but they did not tell us and we had already ordered an appetizer. Seems like there is a learning curve… not worth the price. wonder if other reviews are from friends?

As a big lover of healthy and high quality food I can undoubtedly say that this is absolutely one of the best restaurants I have ever tried in my life. I am a very picky eater and I am usually very attentive with the food I eat, especially when I don’t cook it by myself. Anyway, the food in Phinix managed to conquer my heart or my stomach to be more precise. One of the most important thing is that they use the freshest food, it is not frozen. As a person who was brought up in Italy, I am able to distinguish fresh food from frozen one, and I was absolutely convinced that the quality of food is really high. We’ve been to Phinix two times: one for dinner and the second one for brunch. I highly recommend everyone to try their shish-kebab, which will be an excellent choice if you are a meat-lover. For vegetarians they have amazing salads, I tried Greek salad and I was pleasantly surprised that it was absolutely the same I tried in Greece a couple of years ago. No matter, if you are a vegetarian or not, you will for sure find something suitable for your culinary taste. It will not make any sense if I continue to describe how good the food is, how awesome their Adjarooli is, which is just melting in the mouth. You simply have to try it. If you live somewhere in this area or pass by, give a try to this nice place, it is worth it. One more positive point is the ambience. It is not luxurious, but it very cozy and what is more important you feel like home there. There is some special atmosphere in this place: when you stay there, you don’t want to rush or go away, you just want to enjoy your time. As far as the music is concerned, it is perfect for having a nice evening out. You can hear it, but at the same time it doesn’t disturb you, so you can have a good conversation with your friends. The staff do their best to help, they give you detailed information about all the dishes you are interested in. They are very polite and kind, and they make you stay most welcome. One more positive point is that the prices are moderate. Honestly speaking I was expecting this restaurant to be much more expensive. To sum it up: 1) excellent food, 2) excellent ambience, 3) excellent music, 4) excellent staff plus 5) excellent prices and I give five stars to «Phinix». If you get a chance, give a try to this place, I assure you you’ll enjoy it.

Food is good! Flavors great, and I like their careful takeout boxes that keep food warm. A little more expensive than the competition in the area… not sure what to make use of them for. The interior design is like a 1970’s McDonalds crossed with a Mexican cantina– hard, brash colors and formica. It’s clean, but it’s not set up in a way that makes sense. Few seats, brash lighting, didn’t feel good at all. Looks like a long enough line of tables for the office to come have lunch together and chat when they’re obligated to have open meetings instead of those lunch chats, still has that feel of the Dukakis administration coming there for lunch in the ’80’s when it was a different restaurant. The food’s great, but that front dining area needs help. Something like a crisis of feng shui going on in there. Wish you guys all the luck! Gyros are excellent!

This restaurant with the strangely spelt name replaced the former one — a great improvement. The humus starter was delicious. We tried various shish-kebabs: chicken, lamb and pork. All of them were very good with pork being the winner. The dishes were accompanied with two sides and we tried several different ones which were all excellent. The portions are large and could be shared depending how hungry one is. The main dishes were priced around $ 18 — good value. All the staff members were very pleasant and helpful including David our server. The restaurant is a welcome addition to the neighborhood and well worth patronizing. We will be back.

We tried this restaurant on a cold night, so my recommendation is please turn the heat on. Also the mood lighting is just too dark. The hummus was good, but I agree with another review, oil shouldn’t be on top and needs lemon. The crispy bread too oily. Lamb chops were great, but as sides you should be able to order a salad. We will try it again, maybe after the winter.

I’m a big fan of Med. food and having traveled a lot look for authentic cuisine which can be hard to find. I’ve had a chance to stop by Phinix twice now, once for dinner & once for brunch. Our dinner was the grilled meat mezze which has 4 different types of meat and is a great dish for a group of 3 – 4 adults. We split it 3 way and everyone was really full afterwards. The meat is excellent, and my biggest tip is watch out for the beef, it’s on a different level altogether and comes absolutely tender and soft. If you’re running solo get the beef dish, you will not be let down. The meal also included sides which were great to have. For brunch I simply had to try the boat shaped cheese & egg dish. This dish is actually a big deal in that part of the world and deserves all the hype it can get. It’s unique, traditional, and most important delicious. This brunch only item is one of those dishes everyone has to try once. My tip here is to eat it while it’s hot for the maximum experience. This will be a spot I’ll introduce my friends to for sure when they are looking for a unique experience.

One word: Adjarooli. This dish is insanely good. It hits basically every savory breakfast dish requirement you could have. Texture person? You’re covered. Delicious flavors? You bet. Unreal home fries? The most critical tuber-vores will be completely satiated. This place without a doubt deserves one visit if not multiple.

This place is a great example that good food, ambience, and experience at a reasonable price are not all mutually exclusive. I went for brunch with some friends and we were seated at an intimate semi-private room at the back. The highlights include: — Staff: Pleasant, warm, and friendly, and seem genuinely interested in enhancing your dining experience. They let us sit around even after we were done eating and offered free dessert on the house while we chatted leisurely — Cuisine: A good mix of known favorites and novelty delights! The«Adjarooli» was particularly distinctive — puff bread, cheese, sunny-side up eggs, veggies and spices. Also try the house-fries and house-chips — incredibly addictive — Location: Un-crowded streets, nice, easily accessible location, free and convenient parking, and a park for kids next door. It’s also on my way back from work so like the option of easy takeout — Ambience: The word«Comforting» comes to mind. Clean and elegantly decorated, it’s unlike most other middle-eastern places Will be going back again. Highly recommended.

We stopped in here for Sunday Brunch on opening weekend and were glad we did. When we got there the front room was about half full. Seemed like word hadn’t gotten around yet that Phinix was finally open. You could still kind of see the way the place once looked when it was still Sweet Peach, but the new owners have done a nice job making the space their own. Coffee: The coffee here is awesome. Full bodied, great tasting, served in big cups and saucers, and constantly kept full. Not your typical restaurant coffee. Food: I had the Eggs Pomidoro which is a sort of scramble with parsley, feta, and a tomato mixture served with home fries with paprika and some toasted lavash. I also asked to have it with bastoorma, which is a type of dried beef that’s spicy and rich. We liked it enough that Mr. S ordered a side of it. Mr. S had the Sunrise Burger, which is a burger with an egg on top and various fixings. It’s touted as fresh made, and it totally shows. The burger itself, which I tried, was one of the best burger patties I’ve had. The menu says burgers will always be cooked ‘well’, but ours was definitely still slightly pink and juicy — really perfect, and whatever they’ve added to the ground beef in terms of spices was just delightful. Both were dishes we’d definitely have again, although we’re really excited to come back and try their shawarma and other things. Service: Despite the fact that it was their first weekend open, the service was great. Very attentive. My coffee was never empty, they accommodated requests readily, and were genuinely interested to know what we thought. We chatted with the owner(I assumed) on the way out and he walked us through the other menus they had. We’re both excited to go for breakfast again(we really want to try their banana pancakes) and will definitely be back to try dinner. Tip: This is a great place for an alternative brunch that’s a little different than the usual brunch fair. If you’re looking for traditional brunch though, they still have American style eggs and bacon.
