Not bad for small town America. Just make sure you go during the busy hours that way the food is fresh

I’m only giving this place 2 stars because I have lived many places and have never had Chinese food like this… they are trying hard for such a small Midwestern town which is good but it’s really not good. The staff are very polite and the food is reasonably priced but overall it’s not that great

My husband and I have eaten here a few times over the past decade or longer(about two decades for me), usually with my mom’s parents and aunt. My dad even worked at this restaurant long ago, but it wasn’t a Chinese restaurant then! It must be very challenging to own/operate a Chinese restaurant in a predominantly Anglo-Saxon, small Kansas community supported mainly by agriculture. It also requires adjusting tastes even more to accomodate the mid-western palate. After 10 years of real Cantonese cuisine in China, eating at any Chinese restaurant in any city smaller than San Franciso(or not near such a big city) is almost always a realization that it’s not«real» Chinese food. That said, for being in such a remote small town, this restaurant is doing OK. It gets good business. The staff are very polite. And the food is OK. If all you’ve known is «American Chinese» food, then it can be even better than good. I would love to eat what the cook makes at home, though :-)
