Plum Creek Meats

This place came recommended by a local as the best dining option in town. Otherwise you are stuck with DQ, Subway, and Pizza Hut. I feel obligated to give the 4^th star just because Plum Creek is not a chain.
The young ladies taking the orders were friendly, and the service was prompt. I was wishing for a beer, but didn’t see any hard drinks listed on the menu. Later I found out they have a full service bar. (located downstairs called the Down Under) The menu was pretty much American comfort food with some Tex Mex tossed in. I opted for a Hawaiian Burger. The patty was fresh hand pressed and cooked correctly at med-​rare. I was impressed. If fate tosses you up on the small desert island called Beloit, you will not go wrong with a visit to Plum Creek.

Great food, good service, and can’t beat the prices. Chicken fried steak, ribeye, and BBQ ribs are my personal favorites. Sports bar located in basement.

Great food! Equally great wait staff and always a filling meal. Try the steaks with Montréal seasoning for added flavor. Steaks are cut fresh everyday and burgers are pattied fresh everyday as well. No frozen meat here! Monday’s and Tuesday’s are usually a homemade special at lunch time and is exceptionally good! After that evening meal you can always go downstairs to the Down Under bar for a few cocktails. Definitely recommended.

Stopped here for lunch on our way from Oklahoma ro Nebraska. Food was excellent as was the service.

Love their salsas and burgers!

This establishment used to be the best around Mitchell County and vicinity, with excellent steaks and reasonably good other stuff. Now it has devolved, with mediocre food and shrinking customers.
Finding good restaurants in and around this area is like Elvis sightings, except they sometimes actually materialize before, invariably, either going downhill or disappearing entirely.

In north central Kansas at US highway 24 or KS highway 14 near Beloit some evening? Stop! and pull into town. There is a ribeye steak calling your name at Plum Creek Meats. You can only order steaks in the evenings when the grill is fired-​up. I always make it a point to go here at least once when I’m in town. If you’re not on the mood for a steak, then The Court Street Burger is killer too. Fresh, juicy and cooked to perfection. You’ll be glad you took the time.
