After reading all the raving reviews here, our family couldn’t wait to arrive and try these«melt in your mouth» donuts and«amazing» cider. First off, here are the prices, so you know before heading there: Donuts: $ 0.95 each /$ 9.95 per dozen Cider — $ 2.50 cold, $ 2.75 hot(don’t remember the price for the slush) The donuts are good. Honestly, we used to have a donut-making machine years ago, and what they served here reminded me exactly of those. they’re almost fresh, a little crunchy on the outside. and they are rather small, about 2 ¾-inch diameter. They are simple cake donuts, and they do have a HINT of cider flavor. Melt in your mouth: no. Addicting: no. Good: yes. Would we hurry back to buy more? Absolutely not. The cider was OK. However, I much prefer the fresh cider you can get at Aldi for only $ 2.99 per GALLON. Aldi’s tastes SO much better. The people working there were not cheerful and outgoing, like you would expect from seasonal workers who are at a family destination. Suggestion: go to Aldi, buy a gallon of their superior cider and a dozen donuts, and you’ll save money and have a much better treat! update: Unilocal decided to not factor in this review. but it’s an honest review. Worth re-posting.

I woke up this past Sunday after DST early and decided the perfect way to start November would be with donuts.(I can always find an excuse why donuts are a good idea, which they ALWAYS are.) The drive out here from KC was a little long, but relaxing and felt unrushed, as no one was out and about. There’s a little gravel parking lot outside a barn, right off Holmes street. It’s easy to find and get to. Walk into the barn and the counter is right there. There was no line on Sunday, but there were people coming and going the whole time my boyfriend and I sat eating donuts. The mill was out of half and full gallons for purchase when we went, as apparently they’d been so busy the past week that they sold out! Don’t worry, if you plan on going soon, they do regular pressings and should have more cider for sale this upcoming weekend. There was still cider by the cup and lots of donuts available! I did a taste off between both a plain and a cinnamon-sugar donut. The plain was the best — extremely moist and flavorful. The cinnamon-sugar donut was good, but you didn’t get as much/any cider flavor from it due to the coating on the outside. It’d still recommend these, but there are few places you can get an excellent plain donut from(and this is one of them). Donuts are only 99 cents, which in my mind, is more than reasonable. There’s not much else to do once you’re here besides eat. There’s a cute photo opp outside for kids(or hey! adults, too) where you can stick your heads into an apple bucket. If you want to have a leisurely day, go for the experience or to buy cider from the source, and don’t mind paying a little bit for a cup of cider, by all means, definitely head to Dunn’s Cider Mill.

4 Stars –Cinnamon doughnuts 5 Stars — Apple Cider slushy 3 Stars –Atmosphere 5 Stars– Value 3 Stars — Parking Would I go again? You bet cha! What would I have? Apple cider slushy and a cinnamon donuts. If you go what should you try… DUHHH! Apple cider slushy and a cinnamon donuts! I don’t care if it’s freezing out… Apple cider slushy! It’s Fall! Leaves are turning glorious colors and the mornings are crisp and cool. What do I long for on those chilly autumn days… a steaming mug of hot apple cider by roaring fire. So, with that in mind, I set out for Dunn’s Cider Mill. I make a habit of always reading the Unilocal reviews before I go to a new place. That way I can find out what my fellow Unilocalers think is a «must try». The Apple cider slushy won by a landslide. So… apple cider slushy it is! OMG! They were right again. I was amazed by how intense the Apple flavor was. If I closed my eyes I could imagine that I was biting into a tart, slightly sweet, delicious apple. The cinnamon donut was light, tender, with the delicate crumb, and generous dusting of of cinnamon sugar. I am quite certain that if I had gotten them fresh out of the fryer… They would’ve been five stars! The only complaint I have is that there were no gallon or half gallon jugs of apple cider for sale. Which made me very sad because I wanted to go home with a couple gallons. This will not deter me in the slightest from returning every year for my intense apple slushy fix!

We come here every Fall on our way home from Johnson’s Farms. Best Cider Donuts anywhere. They sell them warm and fresh and melt in your mouth. I dare you to buy just one. You’ll want to buy at least one dozen, especially since you will easily polish of 5 – 6 in one sitting due to their addicting taste. Try the cider slush too. Fantastic!

The donuts are some of the best I’ve ever had. The plain are better in my opinion(the cinnamon and sugar sort of overwhelms the deliciousness of the donut itself). The hot cider was also amazing although not terribly hot. It’s an adorable little building but it is very simple. I liked the charm of its simplicity but don’t expect a big show. There is a little window where you can see them making donuts behind the scene. It’s a pretty area, so we didn’t mind the drive either. Would definitely go back!

This place was great! Even though the drive from downtown Kansas City was long(30 min) it was definitely worth it. The donuts were delicious! Hard to tell which I liked better the plain or the spiced! I went with with the cider slush, but the hot cider was perfect for a the brisk fall morning. This place is truly a hidden gem and I recommend it to all. A plus would be if they added a hiking trail, or some more outdoor seating! I’ll definitely come back!

BESTCIDERDOUGHNUTSEVER!!! I LOVE cider doughnuts and this place is the BEST!!! You can watch them make the doughnuts in front of you. They have doughnuts out but if you request them then they will give them to you warm off the fryer! Great cider slush. I don’t think they make their own apple butter. The staff is REALLY nice as well.

AMAZING cider! The cider donuts are fabulous too. We also ate a big bag of peanut brittle. I know everyone raves about the donuts first and foremost, but for me, it’s the cider I dream about. So good!

These are the only donuts I will eat. They are hot and soft and delicious. My family tried Louisburg Cider Mill earlier this month and everyone agreed we are sticking with Dunns from now on. No comparison! I would seriously recommend buying extras as you will eat more than expected.

This place is the main reason why I love fall. I have been going here since I was about 4 every season, and I long for this time of the year often. Throughout the year I am constantly craving these amazing donuts and cider. You may be asking why? Well let me tell you why. These donuts are the best thing you will ever taste, there is the option between plain and cinnamon. Either option will not disappoint, but your best bet is to get them warm! Not only are the donuts amazing but the cider is just as good. There are a few options for the cider as well, you may get it cold, hot spiced, and a cider slush. I have a hard time choosing just one when I stop in. This is a regular once a week stop for me during the fall. If you havent had Dunn’s cider and donuts, make it a priority to stop in during the fall!

This hidden little gem has one of the best hot apple cider and donuts. The donuts were so sofy, doughy and perfectly covered in sugar and cinnamon. YUM! A lil drive but truly worth it.
