We used to enjoy this restaurant on our weekend trips to the lake house, but now that it’s called«Pop’s», things have changed. The menu is exactly the same(as in, it’s literally the same menus) but the food is struggling. Hush puppies cold in the middle, cold side dishes, and worst of all, a hamburger that’s made my wife very sick for the last two days. What a shame.

Best breakfast I have had in a while! Loved the ladies in there as well, they gave the best and most prompt service you won’t find anywhere else in town. The Belgian waffles were on point and the bacon was cooked perfectly! We will definitely come back for more!

We had absolutely no idea what to expect when we found ourselves hungry after exploring a park near Temple. So when I discovered that there was a locally-owned family restaurant nearby, I said, «Why not?» We weren’t disappointed. I had the Monte Cristo, which was as good as any I’d ever had. My kids had breakfast food(eggs, bacon, pancakes), which they mentioned were delicious. The friendliness of the server was top notch. She came by the table often, addressed my kids by their names, and truly listened to them. We will definitely be back.

Don’t let the looks. of this place fool you. The food cost is low, portions are huge and food is delicious. I gave it 4 stars only because of the run down look :). Our family will definitely return.

Breakfast allllll dayyyyy loooonng. My fat belly thoroughly enjoyed the home-cooked style meal. And although this place reminds me of a truck stop where you might find glory holes in the bathroom stalls, it is INDEED a hole in the wall GEM! Plus an all you can stuff your face shrimp day on Saturdays fun 5 – 9.

I had the Kevin’s Chicken Supreme which is a chicken fried chicken with queso, green onions and tomatoes. It would help if it wasn’t cheese flavored water but they inadvertently made a great tasting combo of queso and fried okra! Wife had the Kevin’s Deluxe burger(2 ¼ lb burgers on a hoagie with Swiss and american cheese and 3 slices of bacon, but they were out of bacon) which she throughly enjoyed except the think cut soggy blah fries. If I try dinner again I’ll probably try a less complex meal.

Excellent food. Fish night is the best in town. It’s the only good fish in the belton/temple area. Old fashion atmosphere. Nothing fancy, just good food.

A good local greasy spoon as I call it. Really good breakfast place! Omelets are huge. Not a fancy place. Chairs mix matched. Bacon is really thick and from a local smoke house. Dinners are good. Shrimp is not the best. Weird hours sometimes. Friendly owner and staff.

We were enticed by the all-you can eat shrimp and encouraged by the good reviews. Should have gone by our gut instincts that if a restaurant is serving unlimited shrimp on a weekend they must be having trouble. Second clue was one car in the parking lot at 7pm on a Saturday night. Yucky! Is the nicest word I could say. Shrimp was greasy but palatable and they quickly bought out a second round of butterfly shrimp. But the third round was popcorn shrimp. Talk about bait and switch! Because we had complained about other stuff… well we just decided to cut our losses and run. The iced tea tasted like coffee. Waitress confirmed that the iced tea maker was broken so they used the coffee maker. The pinto beans looked like they had been cooked last week; dry, pastey wiith a brownish gray hue. Waitress admitted that she had told the cook how bad they looked. No solution was offered. The French fries were limp and coleslaw was just cabbage mixed with mayonaise. But the hush puppies were good. Yea!

We are moving to Temple in a few months so we flew down to check on the house we’re buying. We know nothing about the area and stumbled across this place. The food was amazing and priced really well! We’re huge fans of places like this. It’s sort of «run down» but don’t let that scare you off, it’s what gives it it’s character! I can’t wait to live there so we can frequent Kevins!

Had breakfast here 2 days ago. Both Husband and I ordered the same meal, which almost never happens. But when your menu includes 2 eggs, 2 pancakes, and 2 slices of bacon for $ 3.22, well! Our eggs were cooked exactly as ordered, pancakes were large enough and fluffy, bacon crisp. Service was both friendly and excellent… our coffee cups never ran dry. I could easily give Kevin’s 4 stars if the coffee were better, but to be fair it was good diner coffee and I’ve become accustomed to bold espresso.

Great breakfast place! My wife ordered the breakfast special. Two pancakes, two eggs, and two pieces of bacon. Normally $ 3.22 but on the weekend it was a whopping $ 4.22. Ha ha! Very reasonably priced. I ordered the meat lovers omelette and it was HUGE! Very filling! The waitress was attentive and the owner is a friendly guy! If you live in the area, or are visiting, it is worth checking out. My wife would add, the bathroom is NOT nice at all, but hopefully you won’t have to use it while you are there.

I really like Kevin’s. Just ate there 3 nights ago and found myself asking why I don’t eat there more often. They have a great selection for a family affair. I had a mushroom swiss hamburger that was marvelous. I commented to my wife that I think this is the best burger in town. We almost always get fried mushrooms. The one’s they serve are HUGE! They have sandwiches, burgers, chicken fried steaks, etc. They also have Mexican food and BBQ. They serve breakfast all day at reasonable rates. Some things’ cost raise my eyebrows, others I wonder how they do it for so little. I thought the burger was a good value. I truely enjoy their style of fries. I wish I knew how to describe them. Home-y comes to mind. The ambiance is a little dated. That never bothers me as I’m going their for the food. I think they might get more business if this were updated though. The wait staff is usually sassy, but in a good way. They put up with my oddball humor. I have never had anything there that I never enjoyed. To me that is important. I would recommend Kevin’s to just about anyone. It is worth the drive out to Morgan’s Point.
