The Bear’s Den is a decent place to eat. The are known best for their Steaks and Prime Rib Thursday nights. It is a good addition for Belton for those not looking to drive 30 – 40 minutes to get a steak. Their prime rib us really good and their steaks are ok. My favorite side is the skillet potatoes, yum! I have not sampled the rest of their menu yet. I would not call the Bears Den a destination, but it is an acceptable alternative to driving 30 – 40 minutes away. The negatives are the staff is slow and not very attentive. You will also need to be prepared to wait… even if they don’t have a line, it will take you every bit of an hour and a half to eat here. The Bears Den is also tiny with maybe 10 or 11 tables, which begs to question why is the wait staff so slow. Even though it is in Belton, don’t expect discounted prices. A family of 4 will cost between $ 60& $ 70. I hear the lunch prices are a lot more fair, but I’ve never had lunch here. If they would reduce the wait times and had a more professional wait staff, I’d give them 3.5 stars, maybe 4. To keep the business running, they will need to expand and get better servers.
