The atmosphere is cool. Funky art all over. The owner is super friendly, but there is a miserable, sour woman working in the back, who doesn’t mind muttering her judgment just loud enough to be overheard. Coffee is good. The only food I can recommend are the hotdogs — vienna beef, and extra delicious. A bagel and cream cheese are good too. Everything else, eggs and all, are prepared in a microwave or on a george foreman grill. They’re the only coffee shop in town, save a starbucks by the interstate, so there is no competition to keep them sharp.

A nice place to go, relax, and enjoy a pretty decent meal. Very relaxing ambiance, and the place has plenty of art and miscellaneous items to look at while you’re enjoying your food. Regarding the food, it’s good, albeit nothing that spectacular. On my last visit (I’ve been there 3 times now), I had the half sandwich and soup special… and the soup was definitely the best part of the meal. The sandwich was good, but the quality of the turkey seemed very similar to store bought deli slices (think Oscar Mayer type).

I ate here today, In my humble opinion best hotdog in Belvidere. I also love the Rat Crap coffee! My 9 month old son loves their highchair
