If you like being scolded, insulted, and having your every move watched this is the place for you. I have never been so disrespected as a customer. As a grown woman, I was yelled at for touching an instument, not picking it up, just touching it. And then followed around as if I was suspicious of stealing or breaking something. The woman owner was unhappy, and unkind. This is my second time coming in. My first experience was no different but chose to give her the benefit of the doubt, as everyone has their off days. This woman, I have come to learn only has off days. Save your time and go elsewhere!

Don’t know why all the nasty reviews about this place. They’ve got a ton of stuff and have always been helpful to me. Their prices are good considering this is Bend and they certainly cannot get the kind of price breaks the big boys do. Both Byran and his wife have taken their time to answer all the questions I had. Don’t let the negative reviews stop you from giving them a try if you need anything in the way of musical equipment. They’ll probably have it.

I just called to see if they had a cleat puller to tune a drum. Wow, I’m not sure the women who answered could have been ruder!!! «I have no idea what you’re talking about». Wow, that’s how you answer? I’ll never use this shop. I’d rather drive to Portland.

Awful. Just awful. I would give this place zero stars if I could. I love supporting small local businesses, but I beg you not to shop here. The shopkeepers are downright hostile and much more interested in their dogs than helping you. And god help you if you think you can bring your children into the shop, even if you are shopping for them! Stay far, far away. We need a better option here in Bend!

Best and only music shop in Bend. Family owned and operated. They do discourage people from trying out instruments but it’s a rough economy so I understand. They don’t get huge discounts for buying in bulk like Guitar Center does. The floor model is probably the only one they have in stock so they need to keep it nice, if you know exactly what you want then it’s fine but if you want to play everything in the shop they will probably give you the stink eye. It’s a great place for strings, sticks, videos, gifts, tuners, etc. They have cute pugs too.

Should be called«Bryan’s Wife’s Shrine of Instruments.» Maybe I am spoiled on stores like Guitar Center, Apple Music, and Portland Music which actually encourage musicians to experience an instrument instead of just look at it. Over the past 6 years, whether coming in as a serious buyer or with a few minutes to browse, I have been regarded with something that ranges between suspicion and complete indifference. Pick up an instrument and look down its neck to see if it is straight and/or other typical evaluation techniques… this look can become contempt. This was never more true than the time I brought my 3 year old son into the store. Knowing that touching almost anything in this place is frowned up, I kept him in my arms. When I allowed him, under my supervision, to drum a couple of times on a set of congas, Bryan’s wife gave him a look like he was some kind of disease. I have purchased here in the past but after this last experience, I will not be back again, nor do I recommend this store to anyone who wants to thoughtfully evaluate or experience an instrument for purchase. To my knowledge, there is still not another well-rounded music store in Bend, but I wish prosperity and success to every other store… you will have my business.

I have been to Brian’s multiple times with the closing of Central Oregon Music years ago. I mad an amp purchase a few years ago that I wasn’t pleased with(Behringer’s fault, not theirs,) and have come back mainly due to lack of choice. It’s true about the ‘being watched’ feeling that you get when you go in, but they are protecting a substantial investment, so I understand. If you are there to buy, strike up a conversation with either of them, and they will be as helpful as possible. Brian and his wife were both very patient with me as I had changed my mind like 10 times in the store with what I wanted, and ultimately I was very pleased with the service and guitar that I bought. They let me play multiple guitars to help me find the one that I wanted. Thanks!

Good selection of all the basic gear you will need as a guitarist/bassist or drummer. Got a little crate amp for cheap and plenty of other cables and what not also on the cheap. The service is respectful and attentive. Don’t expect the crazy gear you might see in portland, but really who is expecting that in this market?

As far as musical instrument stores go, this place is decent. They have a great selection of electric guitars and amps, as well as cables and effects pedals. They also have a selection of drums, monitor speakers, and accessories such as keyboard stands and seats, guitar picks, etc. They also carry a couple of keyboards(I saw a fairly basic Yamaha synth and a USBMIDI controller there). Their prices are about on par with other stores of its kind. I feel that I can’t give this store a full 5 stars because I’d like to see a bigger selection of synthesizers/keyboards. However, this store still has the best overall selection of any one musical instrument store I’ve visited in Bend so far.
