If you’re driving down Newport, you’re likely to not even notice Devore’s as it’s a cute little cottage situated directly across the street from Newport Avenue Market, which makes it easy to miss there is this lovely little organic grocers that is a must-visit! Pretty much everything in the store is organic, they have a great produce section, delicious pre-made dinners and wraps, a small but well-curated wine collection, and so many other awesome and healthy items. For how small the shop is, they maximize the space and have a surprisingly complete selection — so it can be one-stop shopping. The employees are super friendly, and after a visit to Devore’s I feel healthier and happier.

I stopped in for the first time today and instantly fell in love with this sweet little mom and pop style market. I wasn’t shopping for anything in particular — mostly curious what it was like. I ended up leaving with some delicious hot Italian sausage, some beautiful produce and a strong desire to come back with a real shopping list! If you’re someone who plans most of their meals from fresh, real food, you’ll love this place. There are not aisles upon aisles of boxed, canned, non perishables like you’d find at a big box store. The premade sandwiches, wraps, and soups will draw me in another day also :) I’m glad I decided to check out this wonderful gem today!

Newport Avenue is a locals’ street dominated by the upscale Newport Market. When I first moved to Bend over a decade ago, I could not understand how Devore’s managed to stay in business directly across the street from that Goliath of a store. Well, Devore’s is still in business, and it’ sclera why. For such a tiny little place, it hits well above its weight class. It has a carefully-curated selection of treats and delights packed into its small footprint. Organic fruits and vegetables that seem to be hand-picked that day, freshly-baked goods, and a huge array of interesting homemade soups. Highly recommended! Shhhh… Don’t tell tourists about this place; they’ll pick the shelves clean.

I was looking online for a vegan shop in Bend, and I found Devores. After walking up the steps, a familiararity washed over me as I recalled visiting this place once with my mom when we lived on the west side 20-some years ago. It has certainly evolved over the years, but kept its small mom-and-pop charm. The fresh items in the fridge are amazing, and I fully reccomend the East-African carrot soup. So AMAZE-BALLS!

Big sigh! Finally found a store with all the fresh and lovely food. Not overpriced either. The staff was so helpful and made me really feel welcome. This is a small but power packed place, with a little of everything(all organic!). Can’t wait to get a wrap when we come over the hill again!

We found this place on our travels thanks to Unilocal, and as we got closer, and saw the big grocery store across the street with the pretty paintings on it, I’m glad I followed my instincts and went to Devore’s. It’s the kind of place that has everything you want, amazing produce, selection, and the yummiest looking array of dips, salsas, soups and casseroles made locally or in house. Sigh, everyone is treated with such hospitality and I left with a huge smile.

Like stepping back in time to a simpler era when stores were small, food was organic(of course), and you knew the shopkeepers. Devores offers the highest quality food of anyplace I have found in Central Oregon. What a pleasure it is to have this great place so close to my home.

GREAT little store with a small but excellent selection. This is the place to grab a wrap or two to toss in your backpack for an instant lunch on the trail, which is just what we did before heading to the Peterson Ridge Trail for an MTB epic yesterday.

I am such a fan of Devore’s! Cute little health food store on Newport set in an older home-style building sets this place apart from all of the other box-style stores in this town. Its definitely small, but I always find just about everything I need, and typically then some! Good variety of fresh, organic produce and grocery items. Prices are quite reasonable-as opposed to the place across the street that shall remain nameless! Staff are friendly and always helpful. BEST of all, they have a great selection of freshly made wrap sandwiches, salads, and treats with vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options always available, and most items-if not all, are organic. This is really my idea of a treat! Paired with the fact that they are grab and go makes this pretty much my favorite place for takeout in town. My only issue has been lack of parking at certain times of the day, but its not really a big deal. If you need, you can use the large parking lot across the street. Try Devore’s for lunch, you won’t regret it! *The only thing that would make this place even better would be a fresh juice/smoothie bar…

I love this little store! Visiting Bend yet again, and needing a quick, easy, healthy picnic for my kids and me, so stopped by Devore’s. We grabbed a few wraps, some authentic Italian limonata(lemon soda, and the exact brand I was served everywhere when I was in Italy), kettle chips, amd organic fruit. Still reasonably priced, especially for the quality(and all made from scratch), and everything else in the store looked great too. They still have premade, homemade lasagnas and such for take and heat dinners(and if I lived here I’d totally be all over that brilliant idea on those nights I didn’t want to cook). The produce looked so fresh and delicious my eight year old even commented on it! Yummmm.

the smell inside this place is amazing. we went for lunch and got a thai tofu wrap and a side of tabolueah with bulgar wheat. they did not have any other veggie/pescy options for wraps but the tofu wrap was pretty darn good. the place has lots of great looking prodcue, but can get a bit pricey for everyday groceries. a great place for a quick to go lunch!

This is the most wonderful market around. I was fortunate enough to work for Bob & Mary for about 3 years and it was by far the best job I’ve ever had. Every time I go shopping where I live now it makes me miss Devoves.

I just wish this place was bigger! Check out their deli selection in the back. My favorite is the pad thai with tofu. This place is so much better than Nature’s!

my absolute favorite market on earth. the best organic produce i’ve ever found. the ready to eat food is the best in town. i would rather get something from the ready to eat case at devores than from any restaurant in town. my favorites include the flaming hummus, tuna salad, pad thai, salmon penne and all the tofu wraps. support your local grocer, especially when they are this good. i have my family in bend ship me product out of state.
