I have lived in the neighborhood nearby Expressway since 1993. This place has really gone downhill. I heard about a year ago that the original founders turned it over to their son. I don’t know if that is true, but whoever is operating it now, isn’t doing the job. I don’t think they treat their employees very well. I see new faces behind the counter every time I come in. The Counter has two cash registers but they frequently only have staffing to operate one, and the line can get quite long. The place isn’t very clean. There are a few tables but they don’t keep them wiped down. The restrooms are pretty disgusting. Now that Reed Market Rd. is open, I’ll call the 7-Eleven down on 3rd Street my new go to place.

I’ve only been here for growler fills. Good service, taste anything you want. Grab a stamp card to get a free growler fill. Come on Tuesdays for $ 2 off any fill.

This is a busy little corner with gas, car-wash, coffee stand and the market /deli. I’ve never seen it slow at this popular convenience mart. The staff is always friendly and their burgers are reasonably priced and pretty darned good. Our employees frequent this place often and more than once a week I’ll see one them chowing down on a king size burger and fries in the break-room. This past week, I called in to order gift certificates for some of our employees and the gal who answered knew right who I was(or I should say the company I worked for) and was super helpful in taking care of everything over the phone. We decided to order burgers for takeout while picking up the gift certificates and when my wife brought them back to the office, I was stunned at the quality and generous portions for a «convenience mart». Good thing I had decided to share a fries with my wife because the bag was huge! The Hawaiian burger was also very tasty, but could have used a little more terriyaki, as I like my burger dripping! But the lettuce, tomato, bun… all fresh and of the quality you might expect from an actual burger joint and not just a «convenience mart». I intended the gift certificates to be used for lunches, but the gal informed me they would be good for anything at the store: gas, food, deli items. I thought that was nice. Expressway Market has a good thing going with a loyal following. If you are looking for a quickie burger of the quality you might find at a sit-down restaurant then this is the place. AND since this isn’t a sit-down restaurant, the price is reflected in their product. A comparable burger at Pilot Butte Drive-in, Hardy’s or Bend Burger Co would easily be a buck or two more.
