I will never eat any other toffee again. No comparison. Love the truffles. Most truffles are kind of dense and heavy. No so with these. They are light and creamy. The flavors are amazing. I really like the unique spicy flavors. The classics are amazing as well. You can’t go wrong with any of these. Worth every penny. Just know that you will want to hide your box and get something else to share with everyone else.

I know the timing seems bad. Cheering about incredible, authentic, hand crafted Venezuelan chocolates so soon after you’ve made your New Year’s Diet resolutions. But trust me on this. Valentine’s Day will be here in an eye blink and these will come in handy to say «I love you». Actually on any day of the year a gift of these luscious chocolates sends the message, ‘You are special «
Owner and chocolatier Lidia Vasquez makes chocolates that look and taste elegant, the latter due to their high cocao content. It makes it all the more sweet that Lidia is such a delightful person and you know you are supporting a small business when you buy her chocolates.
You can’t go wrong with any of the flavors from caramel to hazelnut to mocha but my favorites are the truffles infused with chili peppers, like habanero and chipotle.
I’d rather have a little of something remarkable than a lot of something mundane. So even if the price point is a bit daunting at $ 38 /​pound, they are worth every penny as a special gift. And if you give these, you’ll be memorable too. For example, I was introduced to Lidia’s Chocolates at a dinner party where one of the guests brought these chocolates for dessert. I don’t remember what was served for dinner, but I sure do remember these chocolates and the person who brought them.
