The rating is for the store, not for the sad news that come Monday, November 2, Nature’s will announce to the public that after 32 years they will be closing their doors when the lease is up at the end of the month… or year. For those of us who lived in Bend before it became the 2.5 million tourists a year«YODUUUDE, COOLBEER» mecca it is now, before Whole Foods and Natural Grocers and Trader Joe’s, Nature’s was the go to place for natural foods and stellar organic produce and a local’s choice for shopping(along with the wonderful Newport Avenue Market). When she was a kid and sad, my now 20 something niece would say«My heart is cracking». That’s how I feel about the news Nature’s released to customer email list today. Shop there while you still can and celebrate this good store and the people who work there while you grieve yet one more thing that growth in Bend has not made better.

Support local business! The staff is great, the store is clean and well stocked. The supplement section is my favorite(always 10% off). Check out their fb page for fun promotions and giveaways.

I love this store. It carries raw nuts in bulk, local and organic food, gluten free, dairy free, house items, health care products, supplements, and their smoothies are ALWAYS consistently good. I do notice however that they charge almost 2.00 more for items then other natural stores in Bend. That is a lot when already paying a premium for organic. That’s why they only get 4 stars. I wish their prices were more competitive and they were a co– op. Bend truly needs that.

Do you enjoy small grocery stores? If so, I would recommend this grocer. Good selections, all organic produce, bulk section, and great beer options for the amount of space at hand. The displays are eye catching and the staff rather helpful. The staff member Jimmy has great input and a helpful selection for your beer palette.

I absolutely LOVE Nature’s General Store! I’m a huge fan of shopping local, but sometimes local stores don’t have everything I want. NATURE’S DOES. I am so pleased with their selection of organic, gluten-free, and vegetarian/vegan items. I highly recommend this store! And they have a soup bar = bonus.

Nicely tucked inside a decent strip mall, you’ll be able to find anything you’ll need here. The produce looked delicious. The bulk section was filled to the brim. The supplement selection was incredibly stocked and decently priced — especially with the 10% deal they have going on. I was hoping they would have a hot deli/salad bar, but alas no. That’s my only complaint though! :)

I have been shopping at this store for ten years! I am a regular first due to the amazing produce and selection I find here every day. The produce selection is simply amazing, fresh organic and local when available. The prices are reasonable for the quality you get(the best in town) and I love the attentive, meticulous nature of the produce attendant that seems to be a constant in the store. This is the only place in town I have been able to find fresh organic turmeric when it is in season. As a nutritional therapist, I recommend the root for inflammatory issues and it’s good to know I can find it here when in season. In addition to the produce selection, I am able to find many other herbs, tinctures, and supplements I may need when the moment arises. They also carry some of the fermented foods and gluten free items I seek. I am grateful to have this local ma & pa style store here in Bend at my disposal. An enjoyable shopping experience for a foodie of quality foods. The staff is very helpful and knowledgeable. Shop local and support those who have supported us for so long!

Happy to find this place so I can avoid shopping at the paycheck vacuum Newport Market. Customer Service was nonexistent(6:30pm) but the checkout lady was nice enough. Lots of great local, organic and raw options. Good prices too!

Here’s the thing — I like the store lay out, I like the idea of a natural food store on 3rd. However — the A. M customer service/cashiers are a nightmare. They have no sense of urgency, usually rude and radiate the vibe that they would rather be elsewhere. Customer service is non-existent unless you go there in the mid, late afternoon(service rocks). If it is before 2−3pm, I will make the trip to Whole Foods to avoid the awkwardness that is the front end.

Good stuff! Tinctures, only organic produce and meats, kombucha mama, chemical free beauty products, compostable and reusable housewares, juice machines, they have everything you need to be healthy.

Can’t believe I’d lived here for a year before discovering this place — it’s tucked in between some other businesses but once you enter you realize it’s a little larger than it would appear. It’s a great place to find some very diverse supplements and organic food items. If they don’t carry it, the staff is happy to assist in locating and or ordering it for me.

It’s a mixed bag. Service is mixed: sometimes great, sometimes terrible, sometimes indifferent. Prices can be high but a few basics are reasonably priced. The spice selection is fantastic! Update: organic milk price went up and is no longer competitive.

The best grocer in town. A smaller size when compared to the giant stores, but loaded with all kinds of real food and definitely can be a one-stop-shop. Nice people, and good food for your body. You are what you eat.

I love, love, love this place… so small and quaint, and they have good stuff, and the staff is very nice. The best deal in the world is when they have the chocolate bars on sale! I don’t know how they can provide such a good deal b/c I know what those things cost wholesale… but whatever, I’m in! It’s a small grocery store, so don’t go in there thinking that you’re going to get all the things that you need like if you were to hit the Albertson’s, but that’s next door! So if you have to make two stops, then do it. I could spend hours in this place just looking at all the goodies that they have inside… and they are very supportive of local businesses(they have local foods, soaps, etc), so in my opinion if they are supportive of the locals, then the locals should be supportive of them. Get your ass in there… and don’t make me tell you twice.
