This diner was excellent. Really nice and full menu and also the daily special was great. Nice people working and delicious breakfast.

Raining & cold but the staff at Palmers made the wait enjoyable by providing a covered outside waiting area with a patio heater. Food and service was perfect. I would add that groups of four people or less is best since seating is limited. One of the best breakfast I’ve had in Bend. Definitely worth stopping by.

Go here! We got in at 9am and there was no wait. We had the Palmer Scramble and Banana Nut Waffle that was amazing. Everything was clean and the service was very friendly. There isn’t anything we would have changed about this experience. It is tucked in the back of a driveway for the motel and kind of hard to see from the main road. We just passed it and took a right at the next block and walked. I would recommend going this as the parking lot was kind of small anyway.

I remember driving by Palmer’s(without knowing it was Palmer’s) and thinking«Eew!» & «No Way». Not too long after that I read an article about Palmer’s «best kept secret in town» and decided I had to go. Imagine my surprise when I ended up at the very place I’d driven by and thought«Eew!» & «No Way» about!!! Bwahahaha!!! HOLYCRAP!!! AWESOMEBREAKFAST!!! Ok, ok, first of all, it’s easy to miss. Second of all, parking, YIPES! Good luck with that. Pfft!!! But after parking it’s all good. You have to wait? No big deal, there’s coffee set up outside. Thank you Palmer’s. Oh and you will most likely have to wait because despite being advertised as the best kept secret in town… it’s not… everybody knows about this place! There’s seating inside and out. Waitstaff is super-friendly. Service was prompt. Coffee cup was always full. Food was really good. Sunny-side-up eggs were perfectly cooked — no raw egg white — a lot of places mess that up. Buckwheat pancakes were very nice, not too heavy. Buttermilk pancakes were so freaking fluffy! Hollandaise sauce was very nice but there was too much of it. Yes, there can be too much hollandaise sauce. I’ve told several of my friends about Palmer’s and they’ve all been, continue to go, and tell all their friends. And their friends all go now and they’ve told their friends and, honestly, new business cards needed: «worst kept secret in town».

We enjoy breakfast here a few times each month. Don’t let the parking dissuade you, they have many more tables than parking spots. If the lot is full, you can park on the side street and walk on over. Food is consistently good. The staff are delightful, friendly. truly good people. We are always seated immediately, given water and coffee quickly, order taken soon after we arrive, and our food doesn’t take too long before it’s ready. The portions are large and the prices reasonable $ 9 — $ 13. Recommend the Egg’s Benedict, or the Palmers Scramble with potatoes, sausage, bacon and cheese. The pancakes are huge and fluffy and you get your choice of three kinds of bacon. Not fancy but definitely one of Bend’s best kept secrets.

Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes. Went there again and it was even better. We were a party of 5 and everybody just loved their food. I gave it 5 stars before and it was even better this time around. Hot cakes and potatoes were some of the best I’ve ever had. Still hard to park and still feels like you stepped back in a time machine about half a century but in a good way. If you live in Bend or are just visiting you owe it to yourself to give this place a try for breakfast. They are only open from 7:00AM to 2:00PM so get there early.

Just average at best. We were excited to try a new breakfast house and left really disappointed. The food was just so bland !!! The portions were big, the eggs and potatoes were good, but the chicken fried steak was flavorless. It looked amazing and was cooked perfectly, but no flavor at all. My wife had the Eggs Benidict and it was ok. The sauce was so heavy it ruined the dish. Trust me… I’m no expert, but I know what I like for breakfast this isn’t it. Final note… The place has no be ventilation… You will leave smelling like a short order cook, and will hold that smell all day… Not cool…

This is a great breakfast option, good food, fast service and usually not too long of a wait. Don’t be scared by the location(although bad) :)

This place is a delicious hidden gem! It’s family owned and operated, definitely has that feel as well. It’s like a local spot in a motel parking lot, but don’t let that stop you. Everything we ordered was fresh, tasty, and priced well. When we first pulled up and saw the location, my husband was ready to go eat some where else and I’m sure glad we didn’t. Service was 5 star, we were greeted right when we walked in. Sat right away. They even gave my kids a coloring books to color on while we waited for the food. The server mentioned the specials of the day and recommended some of her favorites. I love when servers give their input especially when I’m somewhere new. To sum it all up; this place was clean, friendly, delicious, and if we were do visit Oregon again WEWILLBEBACKFORMORE!

Cute little spot kinda tucked away and easy to miss but is a local favorite. They are open till 2pm and serve mainly breakfast and have lunch options. The food feels like home cooking and the portions are quite sizeable the price does reflect this. So it’s spendy compared to your regular chain. I’ve been here 2 separate times while traveling through Bend and feel this is a must stop for the early bird looking for something that tastes good and is probably better for you then a McMuffin.

Don’t let the small Motel Café fool you. This place has it together! Great food for a great value. Friendly, fast service and they have heated, covered patio to wait if necessary. We had no wait on a Sunday morning as the tables turn quickly and place filled with regulars who greet the staff by name. Palmer Scramble was great! PANCAKESAREMAGICAL! I am not a fan of thick dense cakes so when they arrived I thought they were thick, but then tasted a bite… magically they are light and fluffy and the best I’ve eaten. Great place and good people.

Easy to miss or forget about hidden away in a small office building on Greenwood, and next to another really great breakfast option in Bend(rockin daves). Palmers offers a cozy dinning experience, and while the place is dated and a bit sticky(as any good diner typically is), you’ll instantly be impressed with the portions, the quality of food and the great service. If you want an old school diner experience, and don’t want to spend a $ 20 for breakfast, Palmers is definitily the place to choose! Try it atleast once, you may not be ‘wowed’, but it will easily meet or exceed your expectations.

Love this place! Old school Café and just as you would expect, only complaint is it is difficult to get in because others know the secret spot.

i can only suggest you look at pictures of «Breakfasts Past» and certainly not from me. My weakness for gobbling down good food got the better of me. For shame. The weak coffee was their Achilles heel. It tasted like brown water. But they kept it coming! Then there were the 10% discount coupons for«next time». Mr. B said we’re coming back, especially after he ate. He would not allow me to donate them to the locals. It has a divey outside, and is associated with an even more so divey, sad motel by the same name. And the parking was horrid. But then… Homemade corned beef hash, very nice. I ordered a side, and absconded with one of Mr. B’s two eggs and a bit of his great hash browns. Mr B’s sirloin steak from grass fed beef from a local Willamette Valley Ranch named Childers Meat Co. There was one slight misstep… over cooking the steak. But the waitress sent it back and the 2nd time was a charm. The steak was perfectly med rare with very special flavor that Mr. B has been moaning over, ever since. And then there were the wonderful biscuits and gravy. The biscuit was as large as a mini loaf but obviously homemade and light. And I suggest you put their wonderful sausage gravy on everything you can lay your hands on, except the orange slice. This is a keeper! 4.5 stars, and only because of the coffee.

The quintessential«local’s» spot. Easy to miss when you’re looking for it, but hard to forget once you leave! This is the kind of breakfast you skip dinner for the night before. The portions are large, filling, and delicious. On top of that, the servers are kind, call you«honey» and remember your name. I’m not from Bend, but if I ever go back, I’m eating here for breakfast.

Awesome little hidden gem here, or maybe not so hidden. I think word is getting out! Tucked in the back corner of The Palmer Hotel & Café is the café. Slow down when trying to find this place because it would be easy to roll right by, and you won’t want to miss it. This quaint little breakfast nook isn’t anything classy, but it boasts some delicious and plentiful breakfast fare. I had an omelette that was perfectly done with mounds of fresh veggies and meat filling, which also came with a heaping side of delicious buttermilk pancakes. So much yum! The portions were very generous, and the quality even more so. The service was great! Regular coffee and water refills were a routine occurrence. Everyone was pleasant and smiling, always a good indication of a pleasant dining experience. There is indoor and outdoor seating that could accommodate groups of any size. The parking lot is shared with the hotel, so there should be plenty of parking unless they have an extremely busy morning, in which case there should be parking around the corner. The price points were modest for the quality of food and portion sizes. I will definitely be back on my next visit to Bend, OR.

Such a great breakfast spot! Incredible service, really good food, family friendly! We saw a good number of people waiting outside of what looks like a funky motel, that I don’t know about. I do now know the restaurant is really good! There is no inside waiting area, it’s outside, with heaters, seats and free hot coffee! So don’t be deterred by what might looks like a massive wait list. This place is my new favorite, over anything on the west side for sure!!! We have little kids and though they don’t have a kids menu we ordered them the basic pancake, eggs, bacon and they made it into the cutest breakfast!
