Preferred Residential

Becky has gone out of her way to help my family find a rental in this market, would say are hands down the most helpful of any property management office in the bend area. That should mean something to owners.

These are the issues I encountered with Preferred Residential and their clients:
1) Communication issues between property owner and property manager: Property owner tried to bypass Preferred Residential and asked us to deposit security deposit directly into bank account which is red flag behavior.
2) Written policies per Screening Process, Application Process, and Non-​Refundable Application Fee not followed consistently: Policy stated that incomplete applications would not be processed. After collecting non-​refundable application fees and noticing that there was missing information, processed our applications anyway without contacting us to clarify missing or vague information. I suggest they loosen this policy to be more fair to the consumer and potential renter. A refund of application fees was denied to me at first despite their mistake but I have since been notified and offered a refund of over half of the fees, which seems satisfactory.
Update: Partial refund of application fees were mailed to us a few business days after they were requested.
