OMG. This might have been the greatest introduction to Oregon, ever! This place is so good, it’s stupid! The variety of unique menu options is just enough to get you excited to try everything and yet not overwhelming. We tried the Lomo Saltado and the Spicy Chicken with Kimchee. The flavors bursting in our mouth were ridiculous — I’m talking SO incredibly good. Will come back! Have to come back! I just want to take this place home with me. Great job, SPORK!

Spork is a must go-to if you are in Bend… clever menu items that are exceptionally executed, fun atmosphere and easy location on Newport Ave.

The atmosphere was great. I love the whole vibe of the restaurant. The spicy chicken should needs to be called sweet chicken. Not spicy at all. The chicken in chilaquikes & chicken tacos was not cooked much. It was ok.

The best lunch I’ve ever had. I got the green curry with tofu and a ginger drinking vinegar.

I write this review with a full belly and a happy heart. Just ate here for the first time with my husband and oh… My… When I first glanced at the menu I was a bit intimidated. The flavor combos seemed quite adventurous for me, but I finally settled on the spicy chicken with the cucumber salad side(you get a choice of cucumber salad or kimchi). I was so pleasantly surprised. The chicken had the perfect amount of spice(just a little after kick, not too spicy) and the cucumber salad with arugula and ginger married the chicken in that eye shutting, no talking kind of good. On top of all that, I also ordered a toasted almond soda which was super flavorful and great(and that didn’t taste syrupy and fake). I am so excited to eat here again! My only complaints are that the music is pretty loud and the wait is pretty long, but those factors don’t even dim the light on our experience :)

Great food and interesting flavors. Prices were a little steep. But loved this unique experience. Would definitely go back, even though it is a little out of the way.

The chilaquiles, limeade, and curry have all been wonderful. I love Spork, I just wish they would upgrade to a larger space. They remodeled recently with new décor, but it’s so crowded if you’re at one of the tables close to the line someone’s butt is in your face while you’re eating. I hope they will move to a larger space or open a new site eventually. The remodel is cool, but a larger space with simpler décor would have been a better choice. The food however, if you don’t mind the long lines is worthwhile. Not sure where their cart is at or if the location varies.

When asked where I should go eat in Bend for my overnight stay, I was turned to Spork. My requirements were not a chain restaurant, something«different» and preferably a chill environment where I can take both mom and a 10 year old niece. Happy we came. Food service was quick, cashier girl was friendly, good portions, clean atmosphere and YUMMYFOOD! Us gals had the spicy fried chicken and rice while mom, who is a vegan, had tofu tacos less the special sauce(the cashier was quick to mention the omitting of sauce.) Will be back!

Great little gem for Asian fusion with South American influences. We enjoyed the spicy fried chicken over jasmine rice and kimchi, along with the green curry and catfish. Their unique craft cocktails are great for happy hour and complement their dishes.

Flavorful asian fusion with a casual feel. If you are planning to order takeout, I recommend calling ahead and you can skip the order line and pay up front. We ordered three dishes around $ 10 – 12 each: Spicy fried chicken. The texture of orange chicken with a spicy sweet sauce. Thai salad. The fried shallots sold the dish. The dressing more or less tastes like fish sauce. Arugula was odd but worked. Shredded chicken bowl. Worst of the three. Chicken was bland and nothing to write home about.

This is our go-to restaurant in Bend… well, one of them anyway. :) The spicy fried chicken is honestly one of the best dishes I’ve ever eaten. My husband and I love the laid back atmosphere and the people who work there are friendly and helpful. If you live here or are visiting and haven’t tried Spork — it’s a must!

Spork had me at hello! So I was intrigued by the name, cause if I had it my way the spork would be my utensil of choice! So it looks like a typical strip mall kinda building but just walk in. The art welcomes you in the door while the friendly counter lady greets you. The décor is super cute and worldly. I liked the round wooden booths that looks like private spaces. There’s also some seating outside. This place is a order at the counter, they bring your food, and you bus your table establishment so follow along. The food! Oh wow… so we had the spicy fried chicken with cucumber salad and kimchi, we also ordered the carnitas sando! These are winners right here. The spicy fried chicken was tender, juicy, flavorful, and had a spice that just kissed your lips. If you washed it down with the cucumber salad it was like a refreshing burst allowing you to dive right back into the chicken. The carnitas sando was sinful. The juice from the carnitas melted into the bread creating this toasted sandwich that was wouldn’t crack the roof of your mouth. All the flavors complimented each other so well. They have made magic here at spork and I can’t wait to go back and try everything else.

I’ve been hearing about the«mystical» Spork now for a good six months. «The food cart that became a restaurant and has a tasty menu.» I was skeptical when I walked up to the strip mall exterior but let me tell you… I was not disappointed! On top of their awesome fusion style menu, the inside is so damn cool. It’s got this bohemian meets industrial vibe that works for them. My other half calls it «hipster chic». Anyways, the menu line up was worthy of downtown Portland and I died laughing that the IPA on tap was called«Who cares? You’re still going to order it anyways.» Which is so true because I did order it and it was delicious. I ordered the Korean short ribs which was the most expensive dish at $ 14. My group also ordered the asparagus side dish, the spicy chicken bowl, and the chicken sausage bowl special. Everything was was SOGOOD! They really know how to cook a sunny side up egg. Needless to say, I cannot wait to return next time I’m in town. My only question to the owners is «When are you opening a location in PDX?!»

After road tripping from visiting the family in Reno, we stopped here on our way home in pdx. I hd the green curry and loved it, and my husband had the fried chicken and kimchi. Wow.wow.wow. Food was excellent but I did have to ask for a plate because it was hard to serve myself with the two incredibly full serving dishes. Other than than, it was fantastic! Super tasty plus hellz bells lager and moose drool brown ale beers. We were happy Oh yeah, we will be back soon!

This is my second visit. It will probably be my last time because my niece graduated from a university that’s on the way home in California. I’m sad as I write this review because I will miss their version of the lomo saltado and their amazing iced tea. Second visit, I tried out the spicy fried chicken with a side of kimchi and a shared side of the grilled veggies. The dining room has gotten larger with intimate booths towards the back. The way it works is you order you food and drinks at the counter, staff brings your food, you eat, then bus your own table. Highly recommend!

Been a fan of Spork for some time always hoping they made it big and it appears they have. Now expanded their new location and it is the same trailer drill for ordering and dining. The food is pretty good and very consistent and the people who work there always seem happy. They may all be drunk which is fine as their cocktails are very good, small but well made. The menu has something for everyone and prices are not local $ but fair … this place does get very busy so we try for happy hour and enjoy sitting outside when it is not freezing. Great location on the Westside make sure you check it out …

Went here on a Monday with a friend around 7:20 to get dinner to go since we had to be somewhere by 8. Line wasn’t too bad(waited maybe 10 minutes), but we already knew what we wanted. We each got the spicy fried chicken with cucumber salad, and I also got a cup of their grapefruit tamarind lime agua fresca. Food I think only 5 minutes which was SUPER quick. We each took a bite of the chicken and omg, SO good! I’m not a spicy kind of person, but this didn’t leave my mouth burning. It was an ever slight kick, but doesn’t linger long. The marinade tasted a little like sweet and sour fried chicken at Chinese restaurants back in the Bay Area, but more sweet. So basically, taste was pretty legit on this! Crunch wasn’t tempura texture, but just a light coating. The agua fresca had a slightly bitter after-taste on my first sip which seemed to be from the grapefruit. With each sip, though, the more the drink actually grew on me. Tangy and tart, which are my type of flavors. It went perfect with our meal to balance out when the accumulation of spiciness was taking over. I would absolutely come here again to try some of their other dishes. The portions were just perfect to where I finished everything and wasn’t stuffed. Bend, you have such good food here!

I LOVESPORK!!* I always get the Saltado and corn… it is always fantastic. The vibe is genuine and the food is top notch. Good bar selection as well. It isn’t a place I being my kids for dinner but only because I want to sit and savor every single morsel with no interruptions.

This was a great find on the first night of vacation! Lots of great choices. I had the steak salad and it was wonderful with lots of great flavored. The other half had the short rib which was downright delicious. They also have a great cocktail list.

The food was fantastic. No complaints in that regard. I had a rice bowl with shredded pork that was something I would love to have again, but I will never go back there. Crowded and noisy. I mean LOUD. I had no idea that it would be like that based on previous visits but it made it impossible to have a conversation with the person sitting next to me.

I LOVESPORK! We had the Lomo Saltado(peruvian steak and rice) and a thai inspired sandwich that were both out of this world and left our tastebuds dancing. The décor is cute. I like the whole order at the cashier and its brought out to your table thing, although it gets crowded during meal times… you need to keep those eyes peeled for a table. Its worth it! Amazing in every way. Highly recommend again and again and again.

Spork is such a treat for us. We have tried to limit our dining out and have cut out a lot — but I can’t cut out Spork! The dishes are spot on every time(both dining in and carryout) and their cocktails are an added bonus. My kids get a taste for and ask for the kids chicken rice bowl by name — they love it! Spicy fried chicken with kimchi is my go-to although I toy with the idea of trying something new :) I have tried bites of other things too but can’t remember exactly what dish it was. But I have really enjoyed everything I’ve tasted. You stand in line and order and get a number to put on your table. You help yourself to utensils, water, napkins etc rather than being waited on. Food and drinks are brought to your table rather quickly and you buss your own table. The tables get turned over without much wait so don’t worry if you don’t see any empty tables when you get in line. By the time you order, someone else has left and you’ll get a seat :) If you’ve been thinking about it — go! Try them out! They expanded their dining area so there is more seating now. And if they’re crazy busy, carry out :) (Note: If you phone in carryout, make sure to go to the side of the register so you don’t have to wait in the long line!)

Even after living in foodie towns like NY and now SF, this is hands down the best meal I have ever eaten. Such unique and interesting flavors paired with great service. My favorites were the Pork noodles and the Lomo Saltado. Also the drinks were delicious as well… you have to try the Maui Z cocktail. Lastly we ended our epic meal with the spiced gelato that was heavenly. Can’t wait to go back!

I’m in love with their tacos. Best tacos in town! I know I can get in & out quick and if I’m in a rush their take-out rocks. I always expect a crowd but it all seems to flow beautifully. People are groovy too, both the staff and customers, it’s a great mix of Bend lifestyles. I love their cocktails especially the old fashioned(love that cherry), it’s simple and perfect. They have many items on the menu that cater to people with food sensitivities and it’s all flavorful. Spork is a must stop while in Bend. Do it!

Really yummy. Great to find an eclectic, healthy place to eat. Easy for vegetarians. Although it was crazy busy when I was there, the line moved quickly and the service was efficient. I had the West African curry which was fantastic. Nice assortment of unusual drinks — so nice to see things besides American soda. This place should definitely open a place in Portland — it would be really popular there!

What a great place. We’re staying in Bend for the weekend and thought his would be a perfect place for a nice dinner. And was it ever. The craft cocktails were nummy and the specials tonight, Massaman Curry and the Spicy Pork Noodles were delicious. We will definitely be back.

I wanted to like Spork so much — the whole idea and vibe is really cool, but we just didn’t love the food… at all. We both got specials — pork noodles and Dan Dan noodles and they were both spicy and greasy, but not flavorful. It left us feeling sad and disappointed. Also, the wait was long and we were only like fifth in line? With so many places to try in Bend, I think I’d pass on Spork.

This was our first Bend culinary experience when we moved to town, and it was a delightful introduction. We loved the funky space. It was crowded, but service was cheerful and prompt, considering. While the handsome man was in the mood for the West African peanut curry(delicious!), I had a Costa Rican pork dish with plantains. Everything was great, including the beer and cider. Prices are more than fair for the quality. A++, would come again.

Food was decent, I’m not super intrigued by the whole«Asian Fusion» concept, but the food tasted ok and that’s really what matters. I had the Spicy Fried Chicken, I wasn’t blown away or anything, but if for some reason I found myself back here I would eat it again. The environment was annoying to me. I’m not a huge fan of the hipster/trendy atmosphere where you feel like you’re required to have tattoos, facial piercings, and some sort of headwear to fit in. If that’s your cup of tea then I’m sure you’ll love this place, but it was just ok for me. Service was friendly, the girl who took my order was nice enough, and the bartender made some conversation while I waited for my food even though I wasn’t drinking. Seems like they’ve got good people working there. I’d say give it a try.

I’m in a quandary about this joint. I cant quite figure out why Im not bowled over by it. An interesting menu. Some curious combinations. We had great service ordering at the counter when asking questions and hitting the employee up for his thoughts. Very nice experience there. The environment is clean and attractive. We had a popular spicy fried chicken bowl– a funky name I cant remember but was pretty much a Kung Pow chicken and not spicy to be named spicy. It came with a very good cucumber salad of which Ive never had anything like. The chicken was good but nothing Id go on and on about. It did have a batter on it w/rice flour so should you be gluten sensitive you can still order it. The toasted almond drink is –odd. oddly good. oddly refreshing. The prices for what you get is what tilts me back another way. Nice food/great help/service vs prices are way over vs what you get. Would I say to go? Yes. I would. By all means but an A-ok for me w/the value vs goods.

The servings were genuin Asian and the fruit drinks were nicely served in mason jars. I’m a stiller for good plates and food was served on mini stainless chargers! The water tumblers were also stainless And you can just grab bottles of room temp water. Overall great lunch. Place little crowded otherwise very hip!

Um, what the hell, Bend? When did you start producing food that could topple competitors in any large global city, and why haven’t you told the rest of us about it? Even after reading the Unilocal reviews, and even after finagling myself through the residential neighborhood to seek out this spot, and even after practically slobbering over everyone else’s food that I walked by before making my way to the counter to order, I was still absolutely blown away by the variety of ingredients, flavor combinations, and insanely high quality of this global street food. It was as good as everyone says. I went with the grilled veggie coconut green curry, and my only regret is not going with approximately 12 other people so that I could have a bite from all of the dishes I wanted to order. The curry had an incredible kick, but was also well balanced and slightly(read; deliciously) floral. It was the perfect comfort meal for what turned out to be a cold and gloomy day, and impending drive back across the pass to Portland. I only wish that I could stick Spork in my pocket and bring it back to PDX with me!
