The Astro Lounge

Lady Bartender constantly ignores me and my girlfriends when we come in, sat at the bar for 20 minutes being consistently passed over for whatever new crew of dudes crushed on to the scene. We didn’t even get to order drinks haha we just left. If you’re going to acknowledge that you’ve seen us and then continue to ignore us for 20 minutes it’s almost as if you’re purposely trying to make us feel unwelcome and awkward in your establishment.

Lady’s, watch out for their female Bartender, with really long brown hair. She likes to Humiliate people if they don’t tip her well enough! Also she picks on young girls at the bar and mostly definitely will try to kick you out if you dance too much! That’s right DANCE too much… She’s also been aloud to yell and cuss at customers, with no repercussions. Service here can either be 100% or –100% She is the only one who treats her customers like dirty money banks. After watching others be treated with such unprofessionalism I will no longer be bringing my business there by the off chance that I might be subjugated to her verbal abuse!

Walked in on a Monday night from out of town… Live open mic night and good happy hour! Very good service and the tacos and southwest salad were good. Local spot. Very kick back good vibe! Worth stopping in when in bend, or. I’d surely return.

I think this may be one of my new favorite Happy Hours in Bend! First, it goes from 4−7p. Second, it has great food with the whole menu having decreased prices but not decreased sizes!!! Third, the fancy cocktails use high quality liquor and fresh ingredients. Fourth, there are decreased priced wells and drafts! Fifth, the inside is dark and cozy, including a front area with couches. Sixth, the bartender, Brittney, was super fun and attentive!
The Italian stallion cocktail was light, fresh fruity and a hint of basil! So good! I ordered lettuce wraps for a snack. I added chicken and though good, I was a little disappointed that the chicken was chilled grilled, diced cubes. I fully expected warm ground or slivered chicken. Each wrap did have a nice sized slice of avocado.
The rest of the table had a pulled pork sandwich that looked pretty good and a bacon wrapped corn dog with fries. The fries were fresh cut and very good. The corn dog served with sides of cheese sauce and mustard sauce. A nice upscale twist to a childhood favorite!
Don’t be turned off by the outside curb appeal! In fact I have driven past this place or went to another place almost next door and never really noticed this lounge. I heard this place has a big late night, live music crowd. BUT happy hour was not busy and this place really deserves to be. Great food and drinks with really decent prices!

Great happy hour! Great service. Brittany made some delicious drinks and was fun to be around. Will definitely visit again!

Great relaxing spot earlier in the evening. Great, down to earth bartenders that engage with clients. Creative drinks. Really enjoyed our visit here!

As if anything is a «hidden gem» in Bend anymore, Astro would definitely make the list. Curb appeal not so hot, but belly-​up to the bar and you’ll be happily surprised with fancy-​pants cocktails and a thoughtful comfort food menu. Ken, our mixologist, was a wealth of knowledge on everything from bitters to digestives. He even created a drink on the fly to compliment our Stromboli. Juicy burger, crisp sweet potato fries and some of the best drinks in town. Can’t go wrong with The Astro.

I’m not sure why this place doesn’t have a higher rating, I think it is a great spot. They have happy hour until 7 pm, which is awesome and much more attainable than happy hours that end at 5 or 6. About half of their cocktails are a few bucks off ($ 6) during happy hour and they also have beer and daily specials. I don’t think the cocktails are as good as Dogwood but they are still pretty good and they do the trick.
The bite of pear is really good but it isn’t on the happy hour list. The cucumber lavender mojo is good. The mirrorball is overly sweet and artificial tasting and the drinks with habanero are pretty damn hot.
I have never tried the food. The service is great and there is a nice ambiance there. Definitely a good go-​to spot downtown.

A really great bar. I’ve been going here since they were in their old location, and they still have staff from those days which I love. It’s cool enough to get packed on a Friday night with young people and hip bands, yet local enough that they know me (I don’t get out that often) and chat with me when I come in on a less busy occasion. Trivia night is a ton of fun, gather your friend have a good time. Their happy hour menu probably has some of the best food you can find, and it starts back up late at night FYI. They make great cocktails and they always have a good beer selection. Definitely a bar to check out if you haven’t.

My friends and I (we all just returned from Afghanistan) decided to try this bar, 15mins in I went to use the bathroom and when I came out one of the bouncers told me that I was too drunk and could not come back into the bar (our night just started), he wouldn’t let me grab my friends or exit out the front of the bar. So I was forced to exit out the rear entrance and walk all the way around the block. Seemed like a pretty cool place, it’s too bad they treat there customers and Vets with such disrespect. I recommend you find another place to get your drinks as they randomly kick people out of there bar for no good reason.

Wow. I’ve been visiting Bend a long time. I was excited to see what the new (er) location of ASTRO was like. I haven’t had so much fun in years. It was completely packed with great music and of course the gorgeous people watching in Bend never dissapoints :) Even the bartenders there are hot and nice when they are slammed. This is rare as most become overwhelmed with volume. They had great mixed drinks and even affordable bottles of champagne. I showed up with a group of 22 people when it was packed to the brim and we will still received fast, friendly, service. We danced and had a great time. If you are ever in Bend and want to «go out «ASTRO is fun!!! and a great mix of people and the atmosphere rocks! Thank you. We had a ball !!

The Red Dragon is amazing!!! Other than that, blah. Too loud. Too many old creeps sitting at the bar. The gal bartender is really good though,

On a recent trip to Bend my friends and I were looking for a place to grab some drinks after dinner and play trivia. The Astro Lounge was the selected place and met the minimum expectations (beer and trivia). The beer selection was decent, but the trivia wasn’t the best. The required table service was sort of weird too. I prefer going up to the bar and waiting my turn rather than wait awhile for someone come to the table. I could see this place being cool if you are a local, but as a visitor it lacks.

Great atmosphere, and I hate to give negative reviews, but I wish they would hire another waitress or two. Been here 3 times now only to not order anything at all because you can’t get any service.
Update — I found out that the servers treat the regulars better. We had to have one of them order for us! But then when the drinks came there was not a drop of liquor in them. They would get more regulars if they treat new customers better. Not going back again.

If you want a craft cocktail from a large selection of choices. Master mixologist Ken selected the GompersGin, if you haven’t tried you need to. It’s made with pear, lavender and Oregon juniper berries here locally. They do great job of show casing the local products. Great fish tacos.

The happy hour martini’s «The Best «and the food is awesome too

Two-​ounce shots! You were pretty bomb-​diggity. $ 45 for three Jamesons and three Fireballs? Not too shabby either (especially since they were two-​ounce pours).
It’s got a pretty happening scene for a Saturday night, live DJ, and apparently bars in Oregon have to serve food, so you can get your drink on while snacking on appetizers, or order a second dinner!

I have only visited during happy hour on weekdays since I’m bringing my family (small kids) and am not into the ‘club’ thing. That being said, my wife and I love this place.
Pros: Excellent food and the happy hour pricing is killer. Nightly drink specials are a plus. I enjoy their Pizza and kids love the mac and cheese.
Cons: No highchairs for the kiddos. More of an FYI than a ‘con’.

After spending over $ 50 here on two drinks (this lady and her man know how to drink)…I can honestly say that their selection of whiskey is bomb.
Loud conversations can’t really be heard over the DJ that spins, but you’ll have fun dancing on the floor.

Saturday night, live music, ridiculous crowd and we somehow got there early enough to vulture the second booth from the stage. The Quick and Easy Boys played. quote” Imagine the Minutemen, My Morning Jacket, and Funkadelic rolled into one.”
the dozens of specialty drinks will knock into next week (pint glasses mostly, except that one that comes in a GIANT 18″ martini glass which my girl FORBID me from having).
the service is amazing (I’ve never been hugged for ordering a drink before).
definitely a «younger» crowd, great ratio, but hey, the 35 – 45 y.o. VCs we partied with the next night were apparently three booths down and had a BLAST too.
Then the table next to us invited us to come to Summit with them around midnight.
We thought… can it really get better than THIS?
Oh yeah… and it did.
