I can’t say enough about the food and bartends, they both were awesome. My wife and I went to the trivia on Wednesday night sponsored by Bend Comedy, if you’re not living on your computer and have no life it’s not at all friendly to the older gen. It’s very Über nerd. Twenty years or younger.

Holy huge half of sandwich! Ordered off the lunch special menu. ½ chicken salad sandwich with fries. Ya know. Light lunch. I received an enormous portion. Great place to watch football also. Many tv’s and quick friendly service.

I have never encountered such wretched service in my life. My brother and his friends were refused a second round of drinks, and were told that was their policy. Really? A bar that won’t serve more than one round of drinks? Okaaaaaaay… I have never heard of this kind of policy. When I asked the bartender downstairs if this was, indeed, their policy, she responded very oddly, and didn’t really answer my question. She then threw the pen on the counter with a blatant glare. I’m not sure why, I didn’t think it was rude to ask about a policy I’d never heard of. Honestly, every employee I encountered was rude, from the bouncer to the bartenders. Will definitely never return to this establishment.

So Wednesday evening I joined a friend from out of state as he rolled into town and got some food before I got off work. I show up and he’s sitting at the bar working on his third drink. I take a seat next to him and we jibber jabber about his drive from Portland and catch up on old times. I get a beer and settle in for some good conversation. We are surrounded by old men fully decked out in REI paraphernalia, yet the place is only slightly capacitated. I finish my beer and ask my buddy about the food. He says he got the quesadilla and was not impressed, but it looks like they’re known for their burgers. So I ask for a menu and after some faint attempts at concentrating on it through our conversation I decide to go for the tried and true Rueben and sub fries. It comes out in a reasonable amount of time and the best part of the meal was the fries. Nicely cooked flavorful. The sandwich was dry and too vinegary. The corned beef was tough and got stuck in my teeth … and I have a gap-toothed grin… My first trip to this bar was years ago with my psycho ex girlfriend and it was a big«bro» bar where guys go to get drunk and start fights instead of enjoy the company of others… This was during the housing bubble of 2005 — 06 ish so in comparison it looks like the clientele has changed dramatically. Or I think it has… it was a Wednesday, after all.

First of all, I cant even justify the one star because we never got served. This is clearly a bar that only supports locals. DH and I were looking for someplace to have a bite and some local beers and stumbled into this Saloon. We were not even greeted when we walked in, we sat ourselves in the elevated seating area, sat there for 10 minutes and left. We received the same warm welcome when we left as we did when we arrived(note the sarcasm). In a town that is already overpriced I want to feel welcome before I lay down any money. This bar will not go out of business due to the locals, but the waste of potential is disheartening, especially in a town that caters to the out of towner. We literally found a place around the corner that was moe than willing to greet and serve us with a smile.

Great little place! Lots of amazing craft beers on tap. The food looked and smelled wonderful, unfortunately we came here after dinner so we did not get to try it. Service was great and very helpful. Warm and welcoming atmosphere, Located in lovely Downtown Bend. Come visit!
