I absolutely cannot believe that this place has NO reviews! This seems impossible to me. Maybe the store hasn’t been there for very long??? Regardless, my trip went like this: Mom, grandma, and I came to Benicia from Sacramento to meet halfway with my bay area aunt and cousin on Mother’s Day. It was a blustery, slightly chilly day and I had dressed for 90-degree Sacramento weather, so any chance we got, we ducked into stores for cover. This store was the best of the entire trip! The sweet old lady who owns the shop has just about anything a collector, shopper, or vintage-appreciating designer could ever want. And let me be clear: she doesn’t have ANY ugly, falling apart, crappy old things here — no, only high-quality and desirable old pieces. She stocks just about everything, from cocktail and wedding dresses, tablecloths, and hankies to jewelry, shoes, and wraps, and even house nicknacks like frames, vases, and china. My ladies and I felt like little kids in a ridiculous little candy shop. Oh, and is it even possible that her prices were really reasonable? As some examples, she wanted $ 50 for a stunning 50s or 60s cocktail dress, $ 90 for a mint-condition ladies’ mink stole, and $ 30 for beautiful mother of pearl shoe clips. In the end, I felt almost guilty for not getting anything — the lady was so sweet and not at all pushy, and her items were so beautiful, but I’m penny pinching for a wedding. I really do want to come back and explore once more, and hopefully next time I can take home a piece of her art.
