John is an excellent person and is super honest. We had a possible issue with a steering rack and steering rack work is very expensive. Later on that day, he called and said the good news was that the steering rack is good, it’s just some minor parts that need to be replaced. The bad news was — there was none :-)
John is a very interesting person and we enjoy chatting with him. He is very technical and will explain everything in detail.

I’ve got 5 different cars and have John at Hometown Tire and Automotive service and do repairs on all of them when needed. He does honest work and is an expert mechanic. I’ve also purchased several sets of tires from him. Whether it was the extensive mechanical restoration work on my ’68 Mustang or the cylinder head gasket replacement on my ’05 Audi A6 the cars have come back running better than ever, and at reasonable prices. I’ve had cars worked on at a half dozen different shops here in town over the years and John is the best.

John Baker just opened up an auto repair business for himself. I am a faithful customer and friend who wishes John a successful business.
John has taken good care of me over the years and I am happy to giving his new business a 5 rating. He is a very good mechanic, but almost as important fair and ownest.
Of note, John has kept my 2004 S-​40 Volvo alive for years. My 2007 Chevrolet van has been well maintained. He has put a clutch in my daughter’s 2004 civil. He just put in new front wheel bearings in the civic and a Hyundai my other daughter drives.
All of these fixes have been done quickly, were reasonably priced and I have not had to bring them back.
