When I’m desperate for something resembling Chinese food and don’t want to make the trek to Albany, I hit up the buffet at China Wok. It’s okay. Ten/eleven dollars for all you can eat. The water’s free. Meh.

Amazing food at unbelievable prices. Also, it’s incredibly clean for a Chinese restaurant. Having lived in the San Francisco Bay Area for a long time, it was refreshing to find that the lack of cleanliness in the Chinese restaurants there is just a weird, local quirk. I can’t emphasize how good the food was. Incredibly filling and tasty, especially for such a low price. The only downside is that they don’t have any wi-fi or cell reception inside.

My second family. The lovely people at this china wok have literally kept me alive the past four years in college. I wouldn’t recommend eating in(go to Lucky Dragon for that), but the take-out is a GREAT deal, a ton of food for little money. This is a family run location and the daughter helps out sometimes on the weekends – she is so cute. Go in, get a box or two for take-out, go home, gorge yourself. It’s completely worth it.

I have eaten at this Chinese restaurant several times, and each time I say NEVERAGAIN. Why? Because as a vegetarian I cannot partake in the buffet like I can at other Chinese buffets. They don’t have signs telling what the different dishes are. So all I can get is the Steamed Vegetables which is very boring. There are no veggies on the buffet except string beans. The so called sushi is not interesting. Just rice and seaweed with some fake seafood. But the worst part of this place is the staff. I haven’t seen a more unpleasant group in all of my experience eating out. And as some else commented, they do not refill the sodas. If they don’t want to be there they should find another job.

I must’ve driven past this place 50 times or more and neglected to have gone in. Big mistake! Frankly, I did not even realize it was a buffet due to the appearance of the structure and to the lack of a humongous«BUFFET» sign, but the other day after craving Chinese buffet and having driven all the way down from Manchester only to discover that Unilocal had the wrong address for Lucky Dragon: , thus sending me to a boarded up storefront, I ended up coming here instead. The inside is very nice. It is not the hugest Chinese buffet I’ve ever been to but what they lack in quantity, they more than make up for in quality. The three or four small buffet islands situated here pretty much feature all the standard Chinese buffet offerings, yet as pedestrian as those offerings may be, I’ve never sampled any so tasty as I have here. The quality is very high. In the crab Rangoons, I could actually taste crab. The pork egg rolls actually had real pork in them, not just your standard shredded cabbage. The sushi tasted very good and had the same(refreshingly conservative) amount of perfectly cooked and seasoned rice you’d find in many decent Japanese restaurants. Teriyaki chicken was plump, moist and flavorful. They deep-fry their pork dumplings here rather than pan-frying them but in all actuality, they tasted better than any and all of the fried dumplings I’ve ever had at any other Chinese buffet. The overall factor I noticed most here was: 1) lack of greasiness, 2) quality of ingredients, 3) care in preparation. The star of the show was their black pepper chicken. This is about as ordinary a dish as you’ll ever find on a Chinese buffet but China Wok’s version of it is entirely delicious! The chicken is juicy and succulent with the absolute perfect inter-playing balance of flavors and textures and as I stated above — a complete and utter lack of greasiness. The service is discreet, efficient, understated and polite and the price, while being a tad high for a buffet($ 7.95/lunch) is well worth it considering the quality. I could go on and on about their great food more, but I think this review’s been long enough. I will most certainly be back!

This place is continually going down hill. We went on a thursday night. They must have had some problem in the kitchen because pans would go empty and stay that way. We walked in to 2 pans empty and an hour later they were still empty with 4 more. They tore down the sushi station and the sushi got warm… YUCK. People were still taking it. The waiter would pick up dirty dishes from tables but never refilled any drinks. We asked twice and he just walked away from the table. The food hasn’t changed in probably 10 years, lunch and dinner are almost exactly the same food! The bathrooms were out of order they were telling people to go to Home Depot. One couple had paid, gone to HD to the bathroom and then had to argue with them to not be charged again! These people hadn’t even sat down, let alone ate any of the pitiful small selection. We paid full price for about half the selection of food there should have been. It was horrible.

We arrived late after playing a gig. Our take-out order was prepared in a reasonable amount of time, and the food was quite good. They do have a large buffet, but we were really not interested due to dietary restrictions. Prices are very reasonable, and portions were plentiful. No complaints at all. The restaurant exceeded our expectations and we’d certainly go back if we’re through the area again sometime.

Pretty decent Chinese buffet for the area. China Wok is a cozy Chinese restaurant/buffet located in the Home Depot Plaza close to the Bennington Bypass(VT279) interchange, minutes from the New York border. This Chinese buffet offers over 40 items to choose from including some standard Chinese dishes(pepper steak, lo mein fried rice, egg rolls, crab rangoons, chicken with vegetables, sweet & sour chicken, dumplings, & more), soups, pizza, potatoes, meatball skewers, peanut chicken(lunch), stuffed puff pastry, sushi, shrimp cocktail, salad, fruit, apple pie, and Wilcox Ice Cream. Pepsi fountain drinks are $ 1 extra. The peanut chicken and pepper steak with onions are pretty good. Takeout is also offered including takeout buffet by weight, 24 Express Lunch Combos($ 4.55 plus tax) and 18 Combination Platters($ 7.45 plus tax). On my recent visit, I decided to order lunch takeout and got the L20 Pork Lo Mein($ 4.96 with tax) served with pork fried rice, and an egg roll. The food was ready in about 10 minutes. The portion of hot food was just right for the price and the taste was on the saltier side. The lo mein had tender roast pork strips with mixed vegetables & firm noodles and the fried rice(yellow color) had pork cubes(some fat) and onions. The crispy egg roll was smaller than a standard egg roll, 3 – 4 bites and done. BUFFETPRICES(in July 2010): Lunch: $ 6.99/$ 3.99(kids under 10); Dinner $ 8.99/$ 5.29(kids under 10), drinks extra. Takeout Buffet $ 4.19 lb/Seafood $ 6.99
