Staples

This is like a B-​school textbook example of a dying store. Everything about it screams that they’re out of money for the basics – demo products don’t work or are just missing, especially in technology; they’re dreadfully understaffed and staff is completely unmotivated. Then there’s the physical space. It’s completely filthy and run down. Shelves are broken, the floors are destroyed, there’s evidence of a basic lack of maintenance everywhere. If you went into a Blockbuster Video about five years ago, it looked like this. Shameful and inexcusable.

Yes, I’m putting in a review for Staples. Why Staples? They are all pretty standard right, you get your supplies, they ring it up and off you go! Nope. Not here. Here, they know me. Well, the manager does. He knows me by «post it girl». This is where I stock up on post its. It may not seem like much to you, but it’s pretty darn special to me.
No one knows me or recognizes me back home and I LIVE there. Here, I get a welcoming committee. Everyone here is polite and personable. Everyone here is chatty. And everyone here knows, I’m Ericka and I love post its. That alone makes me feel VIP. And as you know, I wear an invisible tiara, so me loves that!
