Franklin Commons Apartments

I lived here for about two years, and I like making lists, so here it goes:
PRO’s
* nice area, close to major highway, schools, lots of nearby amenities
* Rent is cheap here or at least reasonable (try renting in NJ and paying almost double for half the space)
*the apartments are spacious – big eat-​in kitchen, big bedroom, and big living room with walk-​in closet for storage.
*nice clubhouse – they sometimes offer coffee and cookies, good place to use for hanging out or if you need to use their computer/​printer
*Gym is small, always busy, but can be used to get the job done
*the central air works nice and is located nicely throughout the apartment
*maintenance team was not so bad, usually fixed the problems
*Amanda in the office is really nice and helpful – I would recommend anyone to work with her
CON’s
* I’ve never lived anywhere with thinner walls than this place. You can hear everything from all your neighbors – really bad construction of the apartment
*The amenities in the apartment are very old – don’t expect them to work great
*Neighbors are a bit trashy – they let their dogs poop everywhere and never clean it up, they’re also a bit hostile and unfriendly (well in my area at least).
*the pool is questionable – with so many kids there all the time, I would not swim there
*my apartment had a bug infestation – not sure what kind of bug, but with carpets throughout, you should really have them vacuumed/​cleaned before moving things in or have the office send someone for you
*some of the workers in the leasing office are not friendly – management doesn’t care much for your individual needs, especially when its time to move out (they tend to want to keep your security deposit, unless you leave the apartment better than when you got it)
*its VERY expensive for trash removal – that’s a REAL ripoff – for $ 25/​mo, I can easily walk my trash to the nearest dumpster
Overall the worse part about this place from my experience is the neighbors – my neighbors use to throw their dog poop right in front of my door, they were loud, rude, etc. I’ve had my clothes also stolen from laundry when I left them to wash/​dry
Also the office workers/​maintenance – I also had my clothes locked in the laundry room even when the sign on the door said they don’t close until 8pm – the maintenance man didn’t respond to any calls to re-​open, he just felt like closing early and going home.
Overall the good things about this place – its in a nice area, I always felt safe walking around, its vibrant, you always see people or kids around, so all in all a nice area. the location was great too, right near street road and the mall is not that far. The apartments are not that bad – they’re fairly priced for their condition. Most places don’t have a clubhouse, so that’s a nice added feature, and you have the option for an upgraded apartment with nicer amenities.
I can talk about this place fairly, because after living here, I moved to NJ and dealt with way worse conditions and paid double what I did here – so I can judge this place based on having a worse experience and realizing it was actually not as bad as I thought. Hope this helps someone!

One of the worst and most expensive places I’ve ever lived. I made a huge mistake. They are money grubbing assholes.

Wow avoid this place. The management REFUSED to talk to me about my application which the security deposit was increase by $ 1000 from when we offered the deposit, and got what we’d have to pay at move in WRITTEN by one of the leasing agents. They are just out to get your money.
