They had a nice Syrah rose, an amazing pepper bridge Merlot that really stood out. There was also a cab and a reserve. The staff was friendly and prices reasonable. Of course they waived their $ 5 tasting fee when you purchased a bottle. We were here for their crush weekend and got to try a 2006 Merlot. AMAZING!

These guys are great. Really a nice location and they make some great reds. The tasting room is actually a very interesting design, using barrel staves on the walls for some cool effect. They have a lovely patio for enjoying your purchases. My favorite is always their«Murray». We always take our guests here.

Hightower was a great stop at the end of the road in the Red Mountain area. The tasting room is small, but has wonderful views, a nice little patio area, and the interior design is very«green» and trendy. Definitely not what I was expecting. We were greeted by a very friendly golden lab and tasting room staff person(I didn’t catch her name but she was very sweet). The wines were all pretty darn good. They only pour reds, including a few red blends, merlot, and cab sauv. All were affordable and very approachable — I wouldn’t hesitate to crack one open to drink on its own. Definitely worth a drop in if you’re in the area.

Really cool building with an amazing view through a floor-to-ceiling panoramic window. The architecture is cool and they used eco-friendly building materials like reclaimed pieces of wine barrels. Most importantly, their wines were all pretty darn good, and extremely affordable. And the service was wonderful — very friendly and personal. We went on a Sunday afternoon in May and were the only people there! Highly recommend.

We came to Hightower once before, tasted their delicious reds and met their red blend namesake, Murray, a friendly golden lab. For the Red Wine and Chocolate weekend, they offered a sampling of all reds. We were greeted as soon as we got out of the car by a very happy and welcoming golden lab named Riley. The wine tasting room is fairly new, and they have a spectacular view of Red Mountain which is a beneficial trait of Benton City wineries. We tried the Cuvee Murray blend(homage to one of the wine dogs), Syrah, Pepper Bridge blend(75% merlot, 25% cab sauv from Pepper Bridge vineyard in Walla Walla), ’06 Merlot, their flag ship Cabernet Sauvignon and their reserve Red Mountain blend. We grabbed some bottles of their tasty ’06 merlot and were happily on our way.

Great, laid-back atmosphere. Smaller than many other places. Friendly service. Cool décor and really nice posters for sale. Pretty views. They offered free tastings and we liked all of the wines. We ended up buying the Pepperbridge which we liked a lot. The Cabernet Sauvignon was also very good.

Awesome Place, and super cool tasting room with nifty not-cinder block bricks made of wood pulp and other stuff. Wine was quite tasty and a nice purview of the local region grapes.

Hightower is likely the very last winery at the end of a long road where you will see the likes of Hedges and Fidelitas. While it may be a trek to get to the end of the road, trust me, it is worth the trip. Hightower Cellars is a family-run boutique winery that offers great personal attention. They are more than happy to offer you a refill on any of the wines that are out for tasting. Our favorites were the Cab and Pepper Bridge. The tasting room is really well done. The main walls look like adobe bricks, but are actually some type of light-weight composite. Ask the owners about it, and you are sure to strike a great conversation. Also, this is the first winery I’ve been to that has used barrel staves as part of the wall décor. Very cool effect!
