What a wonderful place for Benton City to have! I love the breakfasts offered here – the omelettes are wonderful. The chicken-fried steak is huge and covered in yummy gravy. They also make great sandwiches and fried chicken! Service is extremely friendly and fast.

Tumbleweed has been my go-to breakfast spot since moving to Benton City, and for good reason: delicious food and extremely friendly service!

What you expect from backwoods establishment. Sub — standard service. Angry servers. Low quality food and drinks. Better places to go in a small town.

My mom and I were set to have an adventure. We mapped our bike route from Richland to Benton City and back and decided it needed a food stop in the middle. I checked Unilocal for dinning options in Benton City with brunch food in mind. Reviews led us to pick Tumbleweed and we were not disappointed! We enjoyed the look of the old restaurant. The waitress and cook both were friendly and great at their jobs. Most importantly we really enjoyed our tasty omelet breakfasts!

We really struggled for any kind of non-chain or non-Mexican food in the area. This is ten buck a meal(with drink) local spot with oversized plates, delicious burgers, and fries that need more salt. Locals frequent the place and get handed their favorite basically on arrival, and the bar gets busy at night with karaōke. Convenient on street parking.

If I could eat here for breakfast and lunch everyday, I might be fat, but I would be happy! I love the food, I love the staff, and I love the kitschy décor. They never get snippy about substitutions, their portions are huge, the food is great, and everything comes with a smile. Check it out, you won’t regret it.

The Tumbleweed really surprised me. We went in a huge group of people and the owner/waitress was very friendly, chatty and rolled with the sense of humor of our group. The salads were giant, the Friday Clam Chowder was really good and the prices were perfect. The prime rib special was an incredible deal. It’s a simple café, but the food is plentiful and hearty. If you are in town for wine tasting on Red Mountain and need a place to fuel up mid-day, or after a long day of wine and crackers… the Tumbleweed will really hit the spot and you’ll still have plenty of cash for wine purchases the next day!

Been here few times now and I must say we enjoyed every visit. Last time we’re here we all have breakfast. Me and hubby had CFS and they let us sub the hushbrown with fries. It was good. Mom had pancake and Ham and she said it was good too. We will definitely comeback. Maybe try their lunch and dinner.

Great diner offerings in downtown Benton City. Came here on a shot in the dark from my Tom Tom GPS for lunch on a Saturday. Had low expectations given I had no recommendations or other information. It was refreshing to get exactly what I was expecting, but with portions bigger than I was expecting. I ordered chicken fried steak and eggs with hash browns and toast. The plate was mounded with a large CFS covered in chicken gravy, perfectly browned grated browns, and two large over easy eggs, ready to be carved up over the top of the hash browns. All was very good. The lone waitress also was just the right level of attentive. Nothing here is over $ 10. Didn’t experience the«Lounge» half of the building, but it appears to be separate from the café. This place was a pleasant surprise in tiny Benton City, but also was what a diner should be — great vittles for not much dough. Can’t go wrong here. And, surprise, the town is right on the freeway if you are on the road making time.
