Eden Springs Park and Campground

My family and I just camped there for 3 nights. It was nice and quiet campground with good spacing between RVs and lots of trees for shade. They have a small playground set that was just enough for our 3 year old to keep busy. There is the Eden Springs Park with a train ride and lots of history to walk through. This campground is 10 min. away from Silver Beach which is an awesome beach with alot of activities for everyone. The bathrooms and showers were one of the cleanest ive been in at a campground. I was iffy about the area this campground was in but there is good lighting and campers tend to look out for each other. There were no problems at all. The manager Cindy was very nice and accommodating. I would definitely come here again! The only thing I can suggest is updating the playground to add a little more.

Stayed here last weekend. The campground is cute, with a train, playground and tiny store for kids. Campground is small enough kids won’t get lost. Bathrooms were nice for a campground, showers were fine but nothing special. The owner, Cindy, was in there constantly cleaning them so that was nice. Location is convenient to lots of places in the area. We didn’t see any feral cats as a previous posted mentioned. The sites are close together and we had reserved two.
The only bad thing I could say is that the site next to us had music playing loudly and they talked loudly with lots of «F» bombs. Didn’t offend us but others had kids in nearby sites. We complained (nicely) to Cindy and she kind of brushed it off saying it’s a campground but she would talk to them. I got the feeling one of the members of the loud party worked for her or was related to her. In any event, they did turn it down but we could still plainly hear the music and the «F» bombs continued. That caused us to use only one of our two sites, trying to set up as far away as possible from them. Cindy noticed and offered to refund our money for one site but we declined, because it seemed like she works her tail off trying to make it a nice place.

My girlfriend and I had the privilege of staying here. This is one of the cutest campgrounds we have stayed at. The park was so clean and the kids area is so cute! The staff and owners are so nice, going above and beyond to make our stay amazing. The park felt safe and relaxing. We are definitely going to come back.

We originally had planned on staying 2 months here, but only made it 2 weeks. There are ALOT of feral cats spraying in there, and 1 resident who lives there feeds them – which attracts them to keep coming. Loud thumping vibrating music happens a few times a day for quite a while from residents who live in the homes on the other side of the fence. You also hear and feel it from passing traffic outside on the road. We moved to a diff spot in the park, and figured this would solve the vibrating wall prob with the music. It did, but cat stench is everywheres in there on and off daily depending on the weather, or cats that sprayed lately. Upon moving up front, we encountered having to listen to yet another resident who lives in his coach screaming obsenities about killing kids, blowing up playgrounds, and ripping out a**holes of rapists, and doing things to them too. I notified the manager that this was alarming, and she said he was probably singing to music. He had no loud music going on. Whatever. We made the decision right then to leave as it just isn’t safe there or outside the park. The crime rate is sky high there, and if you own a decent vehicle be careful as people try to get hit by you if you drive through their neighborhood. We had 5 walk in front of us and grin. Our last night there, we heard 3 gun shots nearby also. The manager is new, has only been there since April, and doesn’t know anything about rv’s but is learning and is super nice. The bathrooms are spotless (I did venture in once), and the showers are also the same way. They have the trains right there to ride on on the weekends for $ 2 a person, and the place is loaded with history. But gun shots, crazy people living in the park and the crime rate outside of it, made it an easy decision to just leave and go elsewhere. If we had known about the crime rate there, we probably wouldn’t have gone to begin with. Cat spray was found out too late and we couldn’t get into some other campgrounds. I would never EVER want to take kids camping there. It’s a shame too as the place is clean, and they have a very motivated new manager trying to change things. She won’t ever be able to change the crime rate of the area though. To me its just not worth staying there. We had enough and left. There is also a ton of poison ivy all over the place in there, that we had to be careful around.

This is a wonderful place to stay while in the Berrien county area. We had reserved a spot in Warren Dunes for our four day stay but left after one night and were so happy to find this location. We cannot speak for anyone that is «primitive» camping but if you are in a RV you will love this park. The parking area is well maintained and the spots are level even though it is grass (which helps maintain a natural feel to the camping aspect). They are full hook up and all drive though spots — yyeeaa! The owner (Janet) is a very nice person. The train looked cute but missed it due to prior commitments. The park is close to main roads leading to St. Joe, New Buffalo and areas north of Benton Harbor. We will definitely be back!

In short: come for the train, stay for the camping if you’re not big on nature. Or dark. Or privacy.
We decided on this campground after checking out the website that boasted over 100 campsites. When we arrived, we found that there were only twelve primitive sites. I’m not really sure where the other 108 (presumably RV) sites were, or even the other 38 year-​round sites — I just saw a handful of RV sites. Almost all of the primitive sites were in close proximity and had a view of the surrounding neighborhood — it was like camping in someone’s backyard. Except that someone’s backyard doesn’t tend to have streetlights every few feet that stay on all night.
There are trees, but they are sparse and don’t provide much shade.
The owner is kind, and even brought the wood we purchased to our campsite. It seems that the main focus is on the train — they do not seem very invested in the camping. When she brought us wood, my boyfriend asked if it was dry, since it recently rained. She assured him it was. A seasoned camper with no need for lighter fluid, it took three hours and every flammable liquid and solid he could find to get a fire going, the wood was so damp.
Bathrooms were clean, but I cannot speak for the showers. We did not stay long enough to need them — we paid for two nights and left after one.
In a creepy turn, the registration documents were addressed as if to a married couple, but the names were mine and my father’s. I’m assuming my Dad’s name came up on caller ID (even though my phone is in my name)…quite a presumptive leap. As I mentioned before, the owner is kind, and I recieved a Thank You postcard after our stay. And even though I introduced my boyfriend with a completely different name, the postcard was still addressed to me. And my father.
I’m sure if it’s your bag, the train is cool. And the RV sites seemed reasonable. But I do not recommend this as a campground.
