Slim Chickens

Very good chicken tenders and fried okra, but my favorite meal is the chicken and waffles. I will always choose this place over Zaxby’s any day. Their chicken is much better and so is the prices.

I came in thinking that this will be a fast food place with same old same old chicken, but this place was GOOD. The food was hot and delicious. The place was also very clean. The only reason one star was off was there was a little confusion in my order, but that might have been my fault. Overall, I walked out knowing that this wasn’t just another fast food place.

Not bad. The chicken was high quality. The fries were nice and crisp. The place was clean, after all it’s new. It’s rather loud as the acoustics are awful. The chicken probably would. Have been better with a little more breading and a couple more minutes in the fryer but that’s a personal taste. The fries were extra crisp with a light seasoned salt flavor. The regular BBQ sauce is delicious. The mango habanero sauce is great IF you can take the heat. Clean restrooms as well. Give it a chance.

Tried Slim Chickens on more than one occasion to see if the «newness» would’ve worn off. I’m pleased to say, it has not. The chicken is high quality, and I HIGHLY recommend the hot wings. Not too expensive, but worth the money due to the fact you get more chicken than breading. Could definitely be worse.

Buffalo chicken wrap was served with stinky stale lettuce. Ruined the experience for me.

Good service and good food. Seems busy all the times I’ve gone. Need to find the best time to miss a lot of the traffic flow problems. Can be a little pricey depending on what you order. Chicken tenders could be a bit bigger, great order of fries.

Love it! Sauces are awesome… got the buffalo chicken salad and it was perfect! So glad to have this in our town!

Great new restaurant that offers some variety from the normal options in town. Wings are pretty common but the wraps and tenders are stellar. Also a big fan of the deserts in a mason jar. Get the cheddar wrap plate with fries and sweet tea and a desert of the day and you are set.

We had a great lunch. Buffalo chicken wrap with ranch. The mac&cheese was very good. Just passing through town. Restrooms were very clean. The resturant just opened

Ordered the Buffalo Chicken Wrap plate and substituted fries for the fried mushrooms. After ordering, I loaded up on some sweet tea and took a seat next to one of the televisions broadcasting a WNBA game.
The food arrived before I got halfway through my large sweet tea. The wrap was delicious and the fried mushrooms hit the spot after dipping in some ranch dressing.
For a Saturday afternoon, I was surprised the place wasn’t swarming with people but there was still a healthy amount of customers standing in line preparing to order.
The service was friendly but diligent. I didn’t see to many workers dodeling. Everyone appeared to have something they were trying to do.
I’ll definatly come back. I can’t wait to try the fried pickles.

I had the Chick plate which consists of three chicken strips, a side, and drink for $ 7. The service was good, the price was great, and the place was clean. I really wanted to be wowed by the food, but it was bland. The meat seemed to be good quality, but please add some spice to that batter. Also, drain off some of the grease before serving. I had to wrap a paper towel around the chicken and squeeze the grease out of it. I liked the fries. It is a new place and I think it has potential.

I tried Slims for the 1^st time last night at this location. 2 things struck me as exceptional.
1. I have never seen food produced so fast that was of such good quality considering the EXTREME amount of foot and drive thru traffic that was present at the time (7pm).
2. The manager knew the crowds were going to be big. He had 4 employees in the parking lot directing traffic. The drive thru line was wrapped around the entire building. Had it not been for those 4 girls, there would have been absolute pandemonium.
Food quality was spot on. Drinks cold, food was hot after 15 minute ride home in air conditioned car. I read the above review where the guy said people treated him like crap and the manager flipped him off? Just so it’s made clear, they ensured order accuracy 2x before they took my money. I think that review is meant to punish someone.
Price point is high. 8 bucks for 3 breast tenderloins, fries and a drink is pricey. But if I have to pay 8 bucks to get a sampling of their «Slim» sauce, well, here’s my money.
As a Salem-​ite, we are glad to have Slims at Alcoa Crossing. The offering on Military road is last decades news. Time for some fresh blood. Glad to have them close by!
