I set up the appointment online and was repeatedly asked to enter my insurance policy information. The website said«we file your claim for you», when the technician showed up, he said they are not allowed to do that and requested a significant amount of money for replacement. I sent him away and called a competitor, who quoted me less than half of what the technician wanted and offered a guarantee if the glass cracked again for any reason over the next year. I had used Safelite twice previously, without any complaints, but this last time seemed fishy? I know prices differ slightly but a savings of over $ 300 makes me doubt the honesty of the person they sent out. Additionally, if they give you a six hour window on a Saturday, don’t cancel your early plans, as they came during the last ten minutes of it.

As happens with procrastinators I was in a pinch to have my windshield replaced in order to pass a state inspection, due in just 3 days when my plates were set to expire. Compounding my problem is that I’m 400 miles from home and don’t know the area or any repair facilities. I regularly hear commercial’s for Safelite and looked them up online. I was able to find a Safelite facility about 15 minutes away and to my surprise they had several openings that morning. I booked online @ 0900 for an 1100 am. Given that I was having the windshield replaced I planed for a 3 hour wait. I arrived at the shop, greeted within a minute or two, signed the paper work and the guys got to work. Just under 2 hours later I was out the door with new glass and a price that I couldn’t find anywhere else. Thanks Safelite.

One window repaired by Safelite and the experience was perfect. The technician came to my place of employment and completed the repair which was very convenient for me. He even vacuumed the interior of my car which was a nice touch! No complaints, but here is why I rated four stars rather than five: 1) Several calls with some holding, repeating insurance info, VIN, etc. Not that big of a deal, but I’ve used glass companies before that pretty much did all of this for me. 2) At least one other local glass company exceeded my expectations more than Safelite, so the bar was set very high. 3) Other companies had advertised discounts that Safelite did not offer, such as reduced co-pays. I was not disappointed by the cost, but I did wonder if a lower cost might have been obtained if I had time to shop around. I definitely recommend Safelite as the quality was perfect, the price(insurance deductible) was fair, and I the technician earned my trust.
