Wilma’s Salon

This is where il be going for now on to get my hair done. My experience was great before I even got there. When I called the morning I needed my hair done Wilma answered and without hesitation she fit me in. When I got there I was seen right on time. Wilma worked w me and was very patient w me about what I wanted and really listened to me. She was very kind and welcoming. I got a trim and side bangs for only $ 25. Il deff suggest this salon to my friends.

Didn’t even wash/​blow dry my hair before cutting it. Didn’t comb afterwards. Not good.

Because of all the 5 star reviews and the fact its closer, I was really looking forward to giving Wilmas a try.
I walked in to have nobody greet me at the front when there was just 1 other woman in the salon. The man sitting down just stared so I thought he was just a customer. He turned out to be the barber. Finally a woman hesitantly walked towards me so I asked if they take walk-​ins and she said yes.
She did listen to what I wanted and she gave me her opinion on what would look better, which I appreciated.
However she was Extremely rough when handling my hair and her nails scratched my face and scalp. It wasn’t a pleasant experience at all. Very ignorant. I mean if I have knots why would you pull from my roots?
She took way too long for a trim and some layers and in the end charged me $ 30 instead of the haircut price of $ 25. She told me it depends on the length of hair which absolutely does not make sense. I asked for my $ 5 back which she did return to me in cash.
In the end she didn’t have the decency to brush off any of my hair clippings that she dropped all over my face. Throughout the haircut she did not seem like she knew what she was doing.
Haircut is decent, service is horrible.
I won’t be returning.

If your looking for a great color and cut and a relaxing environment then Wilma’s salon is for you! Wilma and her staff are so friendly and amazing at what they do! They are great at letting you know what will look the best on you and always make you look great! I highly recommend this salon!

Wilma is amazing. The salon is a little far from where I live but it is 100% worth the drive to Bergenfield. She is really intuitive and will let you know what will work with your look. She is also super friendly and accommodating. She squeezed me in on a Sunday for a cut even though it was her closing time. I’ve changed hair dressers a lot but Wilma is a keeper!

I was really apprehensive after moving from Brooklyn to the NJ Suburbs. I absolutely loved my hair salon and didn’t have my highlights redone in the months since I moved. I knew it was time though, so during an extensive search I came across Wilma’s Salon. There are many salons in the area, however maybe it was her Facebook fans, or the friendly way she answered the phone that made me decide to give her a shot
I was not disappointed! In fact she exceeded my expectations tremendously.
I am very picky when it comes to service, I do not expect a fancy salon I just want to be made to feel welcome. And that I was, even though I am an obvious outsider. I was seen to promptly and did not have to wait a long time to be seated (a huge pet peeve)
Wilma understood exactly how I wanted my highlights and made me feel totally at ease, she is a true professional and an artist. A real expert at foils, weaving, and spacing. (And trust me, I have been doing this for longer than I care to admit.)
I love my hair and will be back again. Wilma’s Salon made me feel that moving from the City was not as bad as I originally thought it would be.
