Door Boy

I should have checked the rating before hiring them for installation of a 8×7 garage door purchased from Lowes. The delivery guy (they deliver doors purchased from Lowes) was great; he patiently explained how I could install the door if I choose to install it myself given that my door frame and track are in good condition. Hence I decided to hire them to install the door thinking this gentleman would install my door. However, the guys who showed up are two different people and they installed the door off-​centered such that on one side the door molding covered a vertical metal strip on the door completely while the other did not. They blamed the door frame was not leveled. Even if that’s true, they should still be able to install the door centered, as the case for my old door. The manage, Roger, was rude and unprofessional and threatened to harass me everyday if I don’t pay full price. Overall it’s a bad experience but probably not as bad as some other reviews here.

Be warned that they charge an 85 dollar fee to show up and then another fee for parts and labor. When questioned about this practice the owner claimed that I was told when the appointment was made. Incorrect. The tech did a good job but I would not use this company again not just because of the 85 dollar fee regardless of whether they do the work or not, but because of the short sighted and poor attitude of management. There are better companies out there. Shop around !

Steer clear of this company. They installed $ 900 opener for me 16 months ago. Now it doesn’t close properly. They sent out a technician, he spent 10 minutes, said there was no problem with the opener, and that I now owe them $ 171 for the «service call and labor».

My brand new doors are completely defective… Door Boy blames the manufacturer!!! Bob, the owner, is unresponsive, out of the office or taking a personal day at all times. Roger, the salesman ‘thinks’ he promised me a lifetime guarantee, but isn’t sure. (I have his voice recorded promising me this) I have spent countless hours dealing with door boy trying to get this problem taken care of and I am beyond frustrated. I now have to involve an attorney. This has literally been the worst experience ever and they have had my $ 12,000 for months and have not refunded me any portion or accommodated me in any way. Not even an apology. Trust me, you don’t want to go here!!!
They’re not even worthy of the one star!!!

Over $ 150 to replace a key? Don’t go here is you are looking for valued and service. I called thinking there was a simple way to replace misplaced garage door keys (like Thule bike racks, etc.) Nope, they wanted to charge me a service fee + labor fee + key replacement fee. Additionally, the garage doors installed on the property continue to have misalignments and locking issues.

Doorboy installed two new garage doors for my home today. From start to finish the process was quick and the employees were both skilled and professional. Working with Roger was a pleasure as he was responsive and thorough. The men who installed the doors were punctual, polite and experts in their craft. The quality of the doors are outstanding. I strongly recommend DoorBoy as my experience could not have been better.
