Primrose School of Berkeley Heights

Our daughter attended Primrose for 15 months, just completing summer camp a few weeks ago; she also attended kindergarten during this time. I could not say enough good things about our experience here, all of the staff are truly amazing. Over the years we have been to several facilities in the area and were never pleased so we were optimistic with Primrose and they did not disappoint. Our daughter is in first grade for three weeks now and also had her evaluation this past August; Primrose did an amazing job preparing her for first grade and our daughter is doing amazing. Thanks to all the staff who taught, cared for and loved our child for 15 months, we are only gone a few weeks and our daughter constantly talks about stopping in to visit.

Encountered a very unprofessional management who did not once demonstrate they understood the needs of young children. During pickups we encountered different teachers every day, who were unaware of how the child did whole day, for example if they took a nap or not. Agreed it is one of the chain schools nationwide which like every other schools rotate teachers around 4PM but we were expecting same set of teachers. Also their daily reports are not accurate or consistent, looked like a copy paste of daily menu’s without mentioning how much the child actually ate.
When we raised these concerns and some, we were told a parent teacher conference will be scheduled but it took an entire week for the director to reach out to us requesting a time in the morning, which is tough with both of us working.
The last nail in the coffin was them offering beef to my child even after exclusively being told NOT to, when enquired a class teacher actually lied saying the school doesn’t offer beef at all! She said it was turkey and not beef! I had two daily reports clearly stating beef quesadilla and sloppy Joes were offered and I know for a fact they do offer beef as a neighbors kid goes to the same school.
The management didn’t even care to ask for feedback when we communicated our decision to leave the school. They have a new building which is nice but frankly I don’t feel it’s worth the money!
Bottom line, Teachers we encountered and management aren’t detail oriented or never came across as nurturing care givers!
