Had lunch here today passing through on Memorial Day. We got sandwiches and a fresh fruit plate. Good, fast, inexpensive and friendly. Love the town and love this café.

Scones are good, lemon aid also was very good, staff is very friendly, just need to turn up the AC a little on hot days. Kind of a long wait in line, but over all not a bad place for something quick.

I have been to Fairfax Coffee House a few times in my life, and each time found it pretty good. The coffee is good, and the espresso drinks are done correctly. Overall its a decent place to stop when in need of a coffee fix in the cool WV town of Berkeley Springs.

My wife and I stopped in for a light lunch, and it was delightful. My wife had a salad that was very fresh and tasty. I had a chicken salad sandwich and the meat was moist and tender. We were so pleased by this small, local shop that we came back later for fresh-baked cookies and Hershey’s ice cream. The woman at the counter was friendly and quick. If I lived in Berkeley Springs, I’d definitely be a «regular» here.

Go to this place for a sandwich or a specialty drink but not for its coffee. The coffee there is weak and bland. I’ve been there several times in recent years and twice in the last two days. I enjoy coffee and I enjoy good coffee. This place does not have any. You would be better off with gas station coffee.

Coffee Review for Take Out… Thank goodness for little, locally-owned coffee shops. As much as I love the«comfort» of a good Dunkin’ Donuts almond milk iced coffee, or a new-fangled Starbucks coconut milk latte, there’s something about the love and craft that goes into a local shop and their unique variety of bean roasts. That, and their(usually) more passionate employees and reasonable prices — that was definitely the case at Fairfax on a weekend afternoon when a caffeine pick-me-up was needed after a massage and mineral water soak from the spa across the street. Rest assured that this shop has all traditional dairy milk options, in addition to almond milk and soy milk. They also craft house-made Italian sodas, myriad teas, and lots of fresh pastry and muffin items, including gluten-free brownies and cookies which are rich and delicious! Obviously, prices are reasonable here, with minor upcharges for non-dairy milk, and they do have a full seating area with a large selection of breakfast and lunch food items(neither of which I can review, as I was just in for coffee). Internet was free and signal was strong, even from outdoor tables. I can see how this place can get cramped with the queue for ordering and the standing-around waiting for beverages, but isn’t that the case with any charming little coffeeshop? Anyway, the one bit of advice I would like to provide(and maybe suggest that other patrons request) — the hot drinks are WAY too hot — so much so that even with a cup jacket, I couldn’t hold onto the cup… it’s one thing if I order a drink«Extra Hot;» it’s another if I can’t comfortably walk around holding my coffee cup. Nevertheless, the almond milk latte was delicious — and I added a touch of coconut extract(unsweetened) for a nice addition. They of course have sweetened and sugar-free syrups as well. Stop in for a drink and a snack pre– or post-massage or stroll about town with your treat; just make sure your cup isn’t too hot!

Great breakfast options. I recommend their homemade quiche, they usually offer two varieties daily so be sure to ask what is available. Their bagel breakfast sandwiches are also quite good. Of course they have a large selection of coffee drinks. But you have to be patient, they only have a small staff and so they can get quite busy.

Pros: — cute little café and atmosphere — friendly staff — awesome breakfast wrap(with sausage) Cons: — be prepared to stand in line for a while in a narrow hallway(if it’s busy) — muffins are too oily

The coffee is amazing there! The iced white mocha is my favorite, but you really can’t go wrong with any type. The food is excellent and the staff is always friendly. A nice place to meet friends, relax, work on projects, or just hang out. The food also varies from light snacks to a great lunch option, and there are vegetarian options as well(Not just salads.) I would recommend Fairfax to anyone!

Quick order/pick-up and convenient location in central town next to Springs are biggest value. Simple menu. OK prep. Pricey for just the basics. Simple tuna sandwich with $.50 chips and pickle $ 8.

Great little coffee place in the heart of Berkeley Springs. My wife and have stopped here for breakfast two days in a row. The drinks are awesome and the sandwiches just what you need to start the day. Very quaint, intimate place to chill out.

Pretty good for a coffee house. I ordered an iced mocha and chocolate éclair. Good expresso flavor to the coffee and not sickeningly sweet, even with the chocolate syrup. The Barista was generous with the whipped cream and chocolate syrup after I expressed an interest in them. The éclair was… an éclair. Nothing earth shattering, but a large amount of filling. The upholstered chairs at the window looking out in to the park were a nice touch. Pillows would have topped it off nicely. Looks like a good place to meet friends – there’s a surprising amount of room inside. Service was pleasant and knowledgable though forgetful of the éclair order until reminded. Giving four stars because the base coffee had the best flavor I’ve had in a long time and I appreciate the understanding of my appreciation of chocolate, coffee and whipped cream. :)

The Greek chicken and feta sandwich was a good choice for the first warm spring day of the season. Served panini style with an implied Greek homage that suggests it caters more to an American palette versus an authentic Mediterranean dish. Authenticity aside, it was tasty. The potato salad was the side dish of choice and tasted like it was handmade. The side dishes are small, but a quality product is worth it’s weight in gold. The packaged meal came with a few gourmet jelly beans that helped satisfy a small fraction of your sweet tooth’s hunger pangs. The coffee was as good as any big name coffee shop and was likely made with that all natural spring water that breaths life into the community and surrounding wildlife. No complaints here for the skim latte. The ladies at the front counter were cordial and wrapped up our meals with care for us to enjoy outdoors on this fine spring day. Verdict: hits the spot on sunny days for a sidewalk picnic. Small. Local. Fresh.

My wife and I travel through Berkeley Spring several times a year to visit family in Virginia. We had passed through the town numerous times lamenting the fact that we had yet to find a comfy, tasty eatery to make our midway stop. When we finally stumbled upon Fairfax, it was an instant favorite. Whether it’s just a coffee and pastry stop or a full-on lunch break, they’ve got us covered with delicious options. The location is near a strip of small shops which make a great post-lunch walking tour and it’s right across the street from a small park if you need some additional room to stretch your legs. If we ever get around to making Berkeley Springs our destination, this will for sure be a landmark on more than one occasion.

Stopped here for our first meal in town for our long weekend vacation. I tried the avocado reuben– it was nice to try a different vegetarian sandwich, though it would have greatly benefitted from some additional acid. The café was cute, which what seemed like plenty of seating for a town this size. My friends had the chicken, broccoli, and cheddar quiche(smaller portion of quiche than I expected to see, served with a good sized side salad), and a turkey and avocado wrap, they both enjoyed what they had. Overall it was a nice place, nothing spectacular but not bad, with a nice selection of sandwiches, salads, etc, and a quaint location.

Wonderful little café with so much charm. Located right in the heart of Berkeley Springs, right next to the museum and park. They offer some healthy menu options(breakfast wraps, morning muffins, etc.) and the warm service kept me coming back during my visit to this neck of the woods. Many of their offerings have a gourmet flair, so the picky health nut won’t go hungry :) Be prepared to wait a bit, the service can be a little slow but it’s worth it. During weekends, they open up their small bar area to live bands and the place fills up. You can buy tickets in advance or at the door and reserve your table. How cool!

Right across the street from the Berkeley Springs State Park, there is Fairfax Coffee House & Eatery. The service is always great here, and the pastries look amazing. They also have peanut butter cookies and chocolate chip cookies. If you come on the right night, they also have live music. There is plenty of seating, and they also sell normal coffee shop favors like mugs, local honey, etc. Fairfax Coffee House & Eatery gets busy around lunchtime serving up sandwiches and soups. Their coffee is piping hot and just what you need on a morning when there is a nip in the air. Wireless access is open and fast enough when there are few people there. There aren’t a ton of power outlets either.

I think probably the best thing about Fairfax Coffee House is the ultra-cool retro sign hanging out front. I wish I’d snapped a picture of it. Berkeley Springs makes me think of main street Hill Valley when Marty and Doc travel to 1955 in «Back to the Future» — and the sign at Fairfax Coffee House is the proverbial icing on that little cake. Anyway. The interior is cute and they have local art for sale. The kids working the counter were nice. Coffee is roasted in small batches every week and brewed using water from the natural springs across the street. The cappuccino was fine, but our cups weren’t filled up the whole way. Kinda lame.
