Lot 12 Public House

I’ve been trying to find the right words to write this review since September, when my husband and I came to Lot 12 to celebrate our 2^nd anniversary. We came to Berkeley Springs for the entire weekend, and the reviews for this place were a big factor motivating our trip – so we had pretty high expectations. Somehow, Lot 12 met and far surpassed ALL of them. We will remember our meal there as one of the best of our lives!
I could share all of the delicious selections we made, but honestly I don’t think you can go wrong. My only advice would be that, when you come, be prepared to go all out – get a bottle of wine, some cocktails, and do the full 4 courses. You won’t regret it and it really completes the experience. Also, if you can, make a reservation to sit on the porch. We tried to do this, but unfortunately it was an unseasonably cold weekend with rain and we had to be seated inside. However, we were right by a window that had a magnificent view out from the porch. I can imagine that it’s an even more wonderful experience to be right outside.
Berkeley Springs is a bit of a drive from Richmond, so I don’t know when we’ll have the good fortune to come back, but we will certainly return if we ever have the chance to stop through again. Until then it will remain a fabulous memory!

I will never consider going here simply due to the way I was treated when I called. We had a party of 8. Four couples that wanted to make reservations. Each party wanted their own separate checks. Tax purposes. I was advised under no condition nor was there any exception that would permit separate checks. I advised the representative on the phone that we would likely be spending well over $ 1,000 with cocktails, wine and dinner however she said unfortunately they would make no exceptions.
It must be nice to be making so much money that a local restaurant can afford to turn away 1200 to 1500 dollars on a dinner table.
We will find another restaurant that wants our business!

My significant otter and I had a very enjoyable meal at Lot 12 with his folks this past weekend. Our server provided stellar service. She was very attentive and provided suggestions on menu items, which was good because there is so much deliciousness from which to choose. If you’re in the area you must make reservations (really, you must, because they book fast. understandable).

I’m a major foodie, and honestly, this place exceeded expectations.
If you have a taste for unique comfort dining, with an artistic view of both natural outdoor and indoor scenery, this place is for you.
Fantastic hybrid of meat/​seafood/​veggies that are normally only found in $$$$$ restaurants on both coasts, WV is lucky to this dining so close and affordable in such an adorable and historic location.
Always take advantage of The chef’s specials, as they are always made to order with perfection, at least every order I’ve made to date…
Crab dip is a must, duck rolls are a perfect crisp and flavorful taste at every bite. See pictures to become instantly hungry… and enjoy!

One of the few places in the podunk state of West VA where foodies can find high-​end, high-​quality food and ingredients without the stuffy atmosphere of DC. This place is consistently great, with good portions for the price. Personally, I would drive the 2 hrs from DC to Lot 12 over the Inn at Little Washington in VA. Chef Damian Heath serves up fantastic, memorable meals with the service and ambiance to match.

Second visit was the crispy duck and it was also delicious. Very happy with dinner here.

Went to Lot #12 for dinner during a girls weekend in Berkley Springs. Didn’t know what to expect. The menu online looked really good. But the Food was fantastic! The server (can’t remember her name sorry) was great! Very attentive, even though we were there 3 hours we never sat without someone at our table either serving clearing filling drinks whatever we needed !
I would give 10 stars if I could
The fact that it is an old house and not all tore apart and ‘remodeled’ was really nice. You can’t «create» that kind of atmosphere.
I am making reservations now to share the experience with my husband and granddaughter…
