Updating because they put a useless«no guns» sign up and now any legal CCW permit-holder is not allowed to carry in their store. A shame because they were the closest store to me and I probably spent a small fortune there over the last 15 years. So now I take my business, and my money, elsewhere. When I messaged them via Facebook to lodge a complaint and discuss their reasoning, they basically told me that all their customers want the sign because it is «safer». When I explained that criminals and people with bad intent will still bring in a gun, sign or not, and all they have done is make it clear that no law-abiding customers will be able to protect themselves or anyone else from a potential armed robbery, they basically told me «tough luck». Stay away if you value common sense and Constitutional rights. :)

The staff is friendly, prices are reasonable and you can get in and out in no time. Also, they have the best rotisserie chicken around, just make sure and get there before 6pm or they will all be gone. Parking can be a bit of a pain and they don’t have many specialty items, but overall a nice place to shop for your day to day groceries.

It is convenient because is close to me but Is been twice that I find moldy food within a year. That is not good. I don’t feel safe consuming their food anymore. If u can spare some time to go somewhere else I would highly advise it. Your health is worth it!

We quit this dump! I emailed Berkeley Finer Foods this today… Well, today we made a decision. That decision is that we will NEVER shop at Berkeley Finer Foods again! Ever. We are totally disgusted with your constantly incorrect ads and«helpless» help. Today we stopped in to purchase some Fresh Chicken Leg Quarters. Your ad did not mention the usual«family pack /bulk» scam. However we only found quarters at 1.59 per pound. We asked an employee who looked at us like we had two heads — he pointed and said«end og counter». That was the bulk pack, and priced at .99 per pound. Wrong again. Then, we looked at the USDA Choice Beef T-Bone steaks. Your ad listed them at 3.98 per pound. They were labeled at over 6.00 per pound. Again, asking your«help» we were told«we can’t sell Choice to you for that price!» Another Berkeley lie! Your produce has always been borderline, and overall your prices are high. Hell, we go to Pete’s Fresh Produce and they blow your doors off! I would think increasing competition would wake someone up over there… guess not. Anyway, adiós. It has not been a nice ride — and we are getting off Berkeley Finer foods. Oh Yes, please get rid of your tagline«Home of Fresh Quality Products & Friendly Service». This is nowhere near the truth.

I drive over to Berkeley Finer Foods(BFF) in Berkeley Illinois for lots of bargains. There are some items that are not lower priced than other stores, but for the most part, you can save a great deal of money WITHOUT using coupons at BFF. Great deals(I think) on delmonico steaks, poultry(fresh and frozen), deli meats, cheeses, etc., green peppers potatos and most other veggies and fruits, sometimes dairy products, dried herbs, salad dressings and other condiments. Unfortunately, I’ve never had luck with the avacados — they are cheap because they are over ripe or down right rotten. Their bakery goods are great. I do not purchase non food items because of the higher Cook County sales taxes… but you CAN get 5 bags of groceries at BFF for what you would pay for two at the two big grocery stores in the burbs.

overpriced food. old fruit. unmaintained coffee grinder. …yay. the people in this town go here because they have to. and because there is nothing to do in berkeley except… go to the grocery store. if you have time on your hands learn to check the… –family dollar –beauty max –that wonderbread store FIRST… some things you can find at the other stores way cheaper.
