These guys are very fair and really helpful and provide excellent customer service.
I have rented 2 pieces of equipment from them that I had no prior experience with. They provided a quick and easy tutorial so I was up and running as soon as I got home. No surprises, no quandaries.
In both cases I found their equipment to be clean, in good working order with an inspection tag. They’ve helped me diagnose a problem and strategize how to approach the job differently next time so I can cut down on the rental time.
Even if I am not looking forward to doing the actual job, I look forward to dealing with them. That says a lot.

Berkeley Rentals has got to be my favorite new discovery of the year. Jerald and Mac are very helpful and knowledgeable. Equipment has always been in perfect working order on every rental. It appears they have equipment for every project that you might have on your to-​do-​list and at reasonable prices. Berkeley Rentals is an awesome business!

I rented an oribtal floor sander to refinish my hardwood floors. I’ve never done a project like this before, and the store employee gave me a good general overview of the procedures. He also discussed the difference between oil-​based and water based-​finished. He recommended starting with 36-​grit sandpaper, but that’s only when you’re doing a serious stripping. I started with 100-​grit sandpaper to just lightly take off the old finish, and it worked perfectly. The only downside was that I wanted 150 grit sandpaper, but none was available at the Berkeley store. Fortunately the Oakland store had some, and it was open on Sunday. I rented the sander on Saturday, and returned it Monday before 9am, for only the price of a 1 day rental. The employee also help me load the sander into my car (too heavy for just me to lift). I would highly recommend this place again. Just remember to get all your supplies because they are closed on Sunday, and the Oakland one is only open a few hours on Sunday too. The 2 stores also have linked accounts, so I could go to the Oakland store to get supplies, and they could look up the make and model of the sander I rented in Berkeley to make I was getting the right supplies.

I love these guys! They’ve been great for chair rentals — even scrounging up extras after I showed up at the last minute with no reservation. Very easy to deal with. Highly recommended.
